The food was very good - not so the service 😒

Visited our local curry house, as usual servicesomewhat vague. Food was to the usual good standard. Why is there a need to overcharge? When challenged, the waiter replied "his mistake." Although the mistake was rectified, it spoils an otherwise enjoyable evening.

The worst curry we have ever had. We had a bad one from here awhile ago but thought we would try again. The food used to be great but now the chicken was dry and chewy and fit only for the bin.

A lovely Thursday night dinner. I'd recommend the Prawn puri strater and Lamb Kazanna special. Thank you.

Takeaway- have to say, the worst takeaway I’ve had in a very long time. Food was extremely oily. Starters were very dry. Phoned restaurant and they weren’t interested in any way to put it right. As a family of 4, the whole lot has ended up in the bin.

Absolutely awful. Just had a delivery. Extremely oily and inedible. And when we phoned they weren’t interested at all. Said a bit of a discount next time. I have no interest in every ordering from there again. I’d give it zero stars if I could

Take out.was very disappointed with the food . Standards definitely dropped or may be a one off but won’t be ordering again . Food was very poor . Ordered a chicken tikka biriani was more like a vindaloo!!! Chicken was very dry to the point you couldn’t bite into it yuck

A Warlingham institution on the village green, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Narrow interior creates a cosy atmosphere. Menu is typical of most curry houses. Generous portions, cheap prices by 2023 inflated standards so good value for money. Service is fast and attentive, but manner can be a bit abrupt. It’s a great night out from Croydon, 403 bus to Warlingham, a few drinks in the nearby historic White Lion pub followed by a curry in the Warlingham Tandoori and bus home.

I don't understand why so many reviewers are complaining about the service. Presumably they are Brexit voters unhappy that the staff are not bowing and scraping like the days of the Raj. I found the service fantastic, the food great, and the prices reasonable. Much better than India Dining a few doors down

proper old school curry house with all the things you expect, old school crockery with their name on... and the BEST tarka dall I've ever had, consistently! lamb ceylon, prawn patia, naans, puris... all great too!

Warlingham Tandoori is a typical " local' Indian Restaurant. The decor is OK, the place is always very clean and well presented. The food is consistently very good quality. It is advisable to book but not always necessary.

We ordered a takeaway curry for two with delivery. Very disappointed! The chicken jalfrezi and the chicken tikka masala had very little chicken and what was there was dry and chewy. We have been using this curry house for well over 20 years and have always been very happy with the quality. We are now going to change our curry house as it’s at least twice we’ve been disappointed now.

Very disappointed, I think there must be a new chef, chicken dupiaza had no flavour with red peppers used, the poppadoms were soft, the whole meal was just not up to their usual standard. I was going to half today and half tomorrow but am throwing it all away!

Best Indian food brilliant staff recommend every one to try it

My wife and I had a first visit back to our local Indian in many years for lots of different reasons. We decided to return with a distinguished family friend and were pleasantly surprised by the decor and welcome. You could be critical that despite booking we offered any free table. The food was exceptional. The Chicken Dhana a shout out with the Khalsi Lamb and scummy fried rice. Service was okay but somehow not quite right. However all in all, a good reminder to return to our local soon.

Unfortunately came on a night where it was completely quiet and we were the only table. It's quaint, old decor and the food is above average. Perhaps it was just the atmosphere missing.

Took my mother-in -law and family for her birthday. Staff were great and the service excellent. The food, as always was superb and we all had a great time. Thank you, see again soon

I have enjoyed a couple of mid-week curry's here! Quite a small cosy restaurant and a proper curry. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about. Service is quick and staff are friendly! Would recommend.

I had my first meal the week it open must be nearly forty years ago and I am still waiting for my main ! just joking . My expectations are always mete fully. I am sure they wish I didn’t keep coming back but I am a gluten for punishment and over the years I’ve grown older but not any wiser the food can be inconsistent depending on the time of year but that’s the whole point of a local business and supporting it to succeed in good times and not so good the village would be a lesser place without it. You must visit Warlingham Tandoori at lest once before you die. But if you are to scared you could start with there excellent take aways enjoy.

We have been customers of this restaurant for over 30 years and missed it enormously during lockdown. We ate there on Sunday when tables were laid for social distancing and PPE was in full use by management and staff. The food is excellent value for money and consistently good. We would struggle to find a better curry locally.

Was going to try this for first time as a takeaway, but they first blocked new web orders from 6.30, then refused to accept Amex on phone, despite being listed on Amex Shop Small. Shambles.So bang goes this first time customer!

The food here is so much better than the other restaurant on Warlingham Green! I was very disappointed with my last takeaway but luckily enough my favourite Indian restaurant opened for takeaway Wednesday!

The staff in here are consistent. They are a little grumpy and sometimes it would appear that they would like to throw the food at the customers. That being said the food is good and with a sensible menu without going overboard. The quality of the food even when busy is good and if you like fresh chillies there are plenty of curry's with fresh ingredients. The larger is cold which I like, but my wife is not overly keen on the wine selection.

Fantastic food. Gets me every time. Friendly and generous staff too. Well worth a visit.

Went there for a Monday night deal but the food was not great. Not a great deal more than expected. Not that hot and def not spicy Wouldn’t go again which is my benchmark

Old fashioned curry house. Lamb was tough, chewy and tasteless. The bottom of some takeaway containers smeared in greasy oil. Won’t try again.

This is probably the worst ever Indian meal I've had the misfortune to eat. Saturated in oil and the only other flavour in the curry was raw garlic. I doubt whoever cooks in this place has ever been to India. They are certainly no chef. I can't emphasise enough how disgusting it was. If I could rate it zero I would. My advice is stay away. You have been warned.

I ordered a takeaway and found I had swallowed a human hair that must heave been 8 inches long, it was half way down my throat before I realised. This is absolutely disgusting and has put me off curry for a very long time.

We ate here as we were working in the area. The service was very attentive but the food lacked taste and was very oily.

I would like to add: the fish ordered was so badly burnt and therefore not edible, a lot of dishes were served not hot enough. They offered us a complimentary bottle of wine for the long wait but put this complimentary wine on the bill. We had to negotiate that we should not have to pay for the complimentary wine and the badly burned fish. I found the staff very unpleasant and not dealing with our complaints in a professional manner. We would never go to this restaurant again.

Not good, despite booking in the week had to wait for a table. Food was late arriving, service was something Basil Fawlty would of been proud of. Food was not hot enough. The cutlery was thrown down on the table. Then they decided to charge for a complimentary bottle of wine. Worth a visit if you want a good laugh whilst watching a restaurant comedy act, forget it though if you're hungry. Needs a visit from Gordon Ramsey. Had to give it one star for the comic value.

Set in a parade of restaurants this small but cosy restaurant is an old school curry experience. It’s pleasant in its old style and the service I find efficient and pleasant. It’s all about the traditional food experience and simplicity. My second visit and will certainly return for sure !

Haven’t had take away from here for ages ordered food Friday evening just as good as I remembered really tasty and very reasonably priced. Won’t leave it as long next time 😊

Food is pretty ok, as is the service, its a bit like going to Won-Kai in China town, but your less likely to get chopped by triads. Expect reasonable prices, cold beer if you ask for it specifically, and occasionally gruff service dependant on how the staffs day went, one thing I do love tho is the free after eight mint and occasionally a fake Bayles!!

I had great meal and great service. I would I recommend this restaurant. It's quiet and intimate. And great value. We will definitely be returning.

Disappointed with customer service. Bald guy waiter quite rude throughout our visit and over charged us on final bill. However, the food tasty but just an average Indian, nothing special. Deco dated with hints of Greek :)

Our first visit in 8 years when back in the area . Busy Friday night so still popular .Greeted warmly,efficient service . Only had a main course which we enjoyed.Always a safe choice if you want good Indian food

here is great with me and being fussy eater they will cater for your needs, yes its bit dated but we go for food, and price, spinach with cheese is world class

All three members of our party thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again soon.

Nothing special, nice and decent service

Visited this restaurant last weekend. It all started badly when they could not find our booking for six people, however we managed to secure a table in the end. BUT we were left to clear the table from the previous diners, were not supplied any napkins or cutlery and had to get them ourselves and were served by extremely rude and lazy waiters. Several of us ordered madras strength dishes which came up as very bland and were returned. Other diners in the restaurant were also complaining about their food as well. The icing on the curry was the "hair" that was found in one of meals! We obviously complained and re-negotiated our bill but I would definitely not be returning nor recommending this restaurant to any potential customers. Unbelievably rude staff made this dining experience one of the worst.

Have had at least 6 vegetarian take aways in the last 6 months and all of them are just so good. Only the last occasion 10 days or so ago did we leave the Chick peas, something didn't taste quite right.

We have been visiting this establishment for over twenty years, though less frequently these days. The place is perfectly good for an old fashioned lager and curry meal but somehow the midweek meal we had seemed to lack the style of old. Rather abrupt waiter no hot towels or complimentary night cap. Because it is so convenient, we will still come here but it could learn from the nice lady behind the bar who seemed to maintain high customer standards.

My stepdaughter and her friend had dinner last night and found the service very poor. One of the waiters was heard saying to a departing customer "no tip then?".

This restaurant is jewel in Warlingham's crown. The food is gorgeous and the service is very traditionally polite. The prices are reasonable for the excellent quality and taste.

He vivido en Warlingham y haber evitado ir aquí, porque el propietario y el personal son muy groseros con los clientes. Fuimos de nuevo hace unas semanas esperando cosas podría haber cambiado, pero no tenía. No tome su abrigo a la llegada, se hosco, no me importa lo que se pide y se comportan como si lo desean que no estaban allí.

Since my previous review the food has improved and is back to being nice again. Its a good little restaurant not too expensive and friendly service.

Traditional curry house with brilliant food (and better prices!) - 2 starters 2 mains 2 veg, a rice and a bottle of house plonk set us back about £30! Surly service adds to the charm!

Used to go in there and the terrible service used to be funny and was well made up for by the food. Last couple of times the service has slipped into the rude category and was actually quite unpleasant. The biryani was probably the worst curry dish I've ever had out, the other dishes are still fairly good though.

(la mayoría de las casas son ahora también curry ostentoso) encontramos el Warlingham Tandoori, ahora desde fuera parece pequeño y modesto, de moda, incluso, pero no dejes que esto te engañe, la comida es deliciosa y mucho! "Los precios son más que razonables y el personal te hace sentir como si viene allí cada noche! Un hogar fuera de casa ¡Qué hallazgo!

Really tasty food, friendly staff, good value.

The meal was perfect. The okra was especially tasty. Service was good.Waiters friendly. Food was hot (not spicy hot) i had butter chicken and a pashwari nan. Very good. Even gave us a small glass of tia maria, I thought that was a nice gesture.

An extensive menu all well-cooked and nicely presented. The staff are attentive and friendly, a good place to meet with friends for a reasonably priced meal and a chat.

My husband and I went to this little tandoori on warlingham green for our weekly "date night". Food was very good. Atmosphere was lovely, very quiet and dainty. The staff weren't the friendliest but they did their job well. Can't complain about the service.

Was good food, but the tables are a little cramped, they are bowed in the middle too. We were day by the door, and every time their delivery drivers left the establishment, they left the door open (it got wedged open), and the cold breeze kept hitting us. The service was good, nothing to complain about at all. I'd eat here again, but my preference is the next door neighbors mainly due to the furniture which needs replacing and the cramped space.

Wife & I ate here last week.food came very quickly and was pretty good, old school no frills type madras.was just what I wanted.wifes dish was good too.As others have said, the customer service is somewhat 'who cares'.Chap that put the dishes on the table and wiped them was later dabbing his forehead with same cloth, oh.well.the Décor is ancient but I loved it, reminded me of curry houses late 70's early 80s.very cheap too.If you are a big lad, you're going to have a problem getting in the loo(with the broken lock) its tiny.I'll definatly eat here again & try a take away, just think it may well be worth dodging if busy.So don't expect too much ambiance wise & staff are a bit bored, but food makes up for it.give it a try(when not too busy)

Went with a friend for dinner in April. Good menu with lots of varied dishes. Service was a bit up and down with a long wait for the bill and some delays in starters. Otherwise ok. Good atmosphere.

The food is absolutely delicious and very well priced. The food is fresh and hot. Shame about the terrible service, waiters can be very rude and blunt and we have turned up at opening times only to be asked to come back later as they weren't ready. Worth a visit just for the food

My girlfriend and I went for a meal to this local restaurant recently late one evening. The restaurant was empty so we enquirer whether they were still serving food. We were ushered in and seated but it became obvious very quickly that our arrival was an inconvenience being so late. Our waiter was very abrupt and we were asked to speed up our choices from the menu. We ordered poppadoms and when they arrived, the condiments showed clear evidence of already having been used. Finally, when our drinks arrived at the table with a thump we decided that that was the final straw. It's such a shame as many previous visits had been pleasant enough. We will definitely think twice about returning.

Went for an Indian meal and was a bit worried after some of the reviews I had read, though friends have been and found it very good! Went with the family and it was really lovely. Food, very good and service great!

Haven't been to this restaurant for quite some time so decided to give it a go again with some friends. It was early in the week so the place was quiet.The service has greatly improved with a smiling,friendly waiter unlike the last time I visited! A very big choice on the menu & quite reasonable.Food Ok & cooked well but not enough to make me rush back.House white wine was good & we were offered a complementary drink after the meal which was a very nice touch. Downside is that the tables are very close together which almost felt like the people next to us were dining with us!

Popped in last night and got seated straight away. The most striking thing about this place is the extremely strong smell of floral perfume, possible a scented candle or some sort of air freshener. There was no hint of the aroma of cooking curry, which was disappointing. The service was quick and the food good as you would expect from a traditional curry house. Very reasonably priced, they just need to get rid of the pungent smell of perfume as it detracts from the expected aroma of curry.
