A recent visit with a group of Cyclists and we do enjoy our Coffee & Cake stops. Looks like a charming place and the cakes on offer looked good but on ordering and trying to pay I was told they had a NO CASH policy?! How Crazy is that??? In my opinion a very unwise precedent for a Small Business that clearly needs supporting as apart from us and 2 other people, the place was empty. As absolute TRACKABLE CONTROL over EVERYTHING WE SPEND is a very clear AGENDA We should make every effort to use MORE CASH and PUSH BACK its removal in favour of the CBDC's (Central Bank Digital Currencies) the Government is gagging to inflict on us. Every Small/Med Business in these times of Crisis after Crisis after Crisis deserve to keep as much of their hard earned money as possible so, let's not be fooled into thinking everything Digital is purely for our 'Convenience' as nothing could be further from the TRUTH. I don't carry Cards when Cycling and I certainly wouldn't entertain Payments by Phone either but more Importantly ... We Have A Right To Use CASH as Legal Tender wherever & whenever we choose to do so. Out of Principle, I use CASH over any other payment now. As a result I went without and so did The Old Post and nor will I return or recommend until they embrace the use of CASH again.

I moved to the area a year ago and have found the most wonderful tearooms in Nutfield High Street. The OldPost serves THE most delicious breakfasts and lunches with the option of sitting in the courtyard garden which is so pretty. I regularly get my Flat White coffee from here when I work from home and look forward to my 2-3 weekly visit. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone visits. There is car parking to the right hand side.

I have driven past this cafe many many times, thought how lovely it looked and always thought I should stop by. Today I did. I shall not be coming again. The staff looked harrassed despite their being a small queue and few customers. Service was very slow. And having ordered a vegetarian sandwich and been presented with a bacon one I was told it was my fault. Clearly customer service is not a priority here

We popped in here quite randomly. Inside it’s a beautiful place: a spacious modern cafe with a lovely courtyard. Some really good design touches. Somehow it didn’t look so welcoming from the outside? The menu is limited but all three of our light lunches were excellent: chunky sandwiches, a very nice quiche, with really good coleslaw on the side. The coffee was decent, the milkshake was good. Worth popping in!

Disappointing visit as this is usually an enjoyable place to go to. This time it was a disaster. I took a guest and her baby for a treat but we had to leave without eating and go elsewhere. I had booked a table on their telephone answering machine stating our specific requirements and called the day before to speak to someone to double check that they could provide us with all we needed. However on arrival we were told they were unable to cook/serve what I had requested (although it is on the menu) until 45 minutes later and then only after 2 large pre orders. I was told (a) I'd booked an awkward time slot and (b) their policy was "on the menu" - which we didn't see until we arrived at the venue. Apart from the baby's needs one of us has complex special dietary needs. Neither can easily fit into a standard slot to suit other agendas. My question is why was I not informed that we would have to sit and wait 45 minutes before being allowed to order the item I specifically rang to ask about when I telephoned? I'd also question how good a telephone booking system is that takes your booking but then informs you that it won't confirm it. It feels very risky - hence my 2nd call. Finally I received no acknowledgement to my message to the owner. Not the best customer service I have received. Can't rate the food this time.

Took a while for our lunch to come, for which the waitress apologised. However, really don't think your food should come out in dribs and drabs. Side order of fries was delivered with no other food. Two lunches then arrived about 5 mins later but not mine. Had to wait a further 5 mins for mine to arrive. The chips were pretty cold by now. I ordered the quiche which I expected would be warm. However, it was ice cold and I couldn't eat it all as a result.

Took my partner and two friends to lunch today. Service was unacceptably slow. It took 50 minutes for our sandwiches and salads to arrive, and that was after two prompts to the staff - who only informed me 40 minutes in that they were understaffed today (after they'd taken my order and money). There was also a lack of organisation, with people being serviced ahead of us, who had arrived after us. Not impressed and we won't be eating there again.

Easy parking and entered through a pretty courtyard with a cluster of professionals services. It’s got a very pleasant ambiance and seems popular. I’ve marked it down simply because I paid £4 for 2 cups of tea served appallingly. A nice large cup with hot water and a tea bag floating in it! We got a jug of milk but why oh why not provide a tea pot. What a difference that would make but they just can’t be bothered.

Not good ordered cooked breakfast my bacon was overcooked, granary toast dry, poached egg was basically hard boiled egg asked for egg to be cooked again but came back same just runny on top half of egg. My wife had poached eggs on toast both eggs which were hard boiled but ate as does not like to send her food back. Staff did not enquire if i was satisfied after the second egg. If they cannot cook a runny poached egg they should not sell them . No refund offered. Paid nearly £20 for a breafast we did not enjoy. Shame as place is lovely.

I went for breakfast, it is a lovely building and they have spent some time and effort to make it look neat and smart. To start with they did not have all the ingredients for the breakfast I wanted, so i decided for very simple fare, toast and tea.It was not very busy at the time of ordering, yet it took over 35 minutes for the toast to come, served with two of the smallest foil wrapped butter portions I have ever seen, the brown toast was nice though. After 45 minutes the tea arrived, even after a polite prompts earlier on.The staff appeared to be disinterested and apathetic.I live very local and will not return, I do not like giving poor reviews, local business always needs support

I think it's converted from old post office. The entrance is through a jewellery and craft shop. The cafe counter is deep inside. On the other side is a fitness center. A youngish girl was manning the counter. The setting is nice and cheerful. There were two sets of floor mosaic which I suspect were from the old post office. I had milkshake which was ok. Wife had walnut cake which she enjoyed. We were there Saturday mid afternoon it wasn't very crowded.

We popped in for some lunch with a friend, having not visited before and loved this place! Quirkly things to buy in the shop on entering and you are nicely led off to the restaurant at the back where we quickly found a table by the window. The menu offered breakfast up until 1130am and lunch from noon. We ordered two chicken caesar salads with some sweet potato fries and our friend had the New Yorker baguette (think large seeded rolll with pastrami and all the trimmings) with a side of skin on fries. All washed down with soft drinks and followed by coffees. YUM! There were plenty of other delicious looking plates coming out for other customers (plus a specials board) and some very enticing smoothies and milkshakes if you only fancy a quick visit. Overall, a nice little cafe for when we are passing, friendly staff and good food at a good price. Will be returning !

This was recommended to me by a friend and it was certainly worth a visit. We used to go here years ago when it was the Grace Barrand design centre and it was lovely. We had a very comfy seat and the food was delicious. With lovely dry crispy chips. The baguettes were generously filled with delicious feelings. We lingered and also enjoyed some of the cake on offer. We then had a look round some of the very nice things to buy. Parking is very easy here. My only criticism Is the peculiar bare walls. However we came for food and delicious food we certainly got.

Been going regularly for a few months and very nice place, warm welcome, innovative surroundings and good service and staff and the foods good too. However I have heard from a family member that they are no longer doing rustic rolls .......... rather boring, omnipotent, bland panini/ ciabatta options only. Don't think these will complement their nice fillings and they will have lost an important (IMO only of course) point of differentiation. So please bring these back or it's back to the priory garden centre for me - hard life eh!
