Stunning picturesque location, set in a quiet little lane. The flowers are all in bloom and the restaurants garden area make for a perfect long lazy afternoon of amazing food and ambiance. The food is always 10/10 we have never been disappointed with the quality and culinary skill of Will who is the chef at The Dove. Sophie runs the front of house perfectly and we are always warmly welcomed by them when we cycle up. If you have not been here you MUST!!! A little gem on a busy road my first visit today with my elderly mum and was made so welcome from an earlier phone call for directions …. Which easy to find So pleased I went excellent food and fantastic valve friendly atmosphere from start to finish I felt like I’d known Nick ( the owner ) and Jackie for years The best bubble and squeak I’ve had in years looking forward to returning soon It may be a small diner but a big personality for a professional business

This fabulous venue is once again staging live music. At the moment only occasionally but events will increase in time. Keep an eye on their website and social media. Intimate venue hosting interesting acts from far and wide.

Always beautiful food, beautifully presented. Courteous friendly staff. I have never tasted such delicious Black Forest gateaux and recommend ALL Atilla’s cakes. You couldn’t get a better light lunch anywhere in Chester, in my opinion. Well worth a visit.

Small neat local pub. Didn't have any food, just had a pint of Shepherd Neame Master Brew, which was fine.

Great customer service and a warm environment. The food was superb and portion sizes were perfect. Would recommend either the Pork Belly or Steak and Ale pie as the meat was melt in the mouth. I will definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

New ownership, just visiting friends for the weekend and had the Sunday roast - great portion size and it’s Carvery style so help yourself. £17.50 and good value, little outside garden and sitting area too for the summer, lovely chatty staff too, would recommend!

This pub could be so much more. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. The barmaid was disinterested, or bored or just not trained to smile, or be welcoming and create a sense that we were actually valued. More depressingly the owner/landlord was sat at the bar and only acknowledged locals. It does not take a second to smile and say hello. It was obviously the landlord as he kept popping back behind the bar. If you are not interested in people, perhaps a different profession. It is a shame because the pub is in a great location and is very pretty. But you will receive no welcome, disinterested service and a landlord who cannot be bothered.

Yet another gorgeous roast beef dinner. Fresh, hot and lots of it! Friendly family pub, lovely atmosphere and very welcoming. No need to look for anywhere else. Thank you all x

Really nice traditional English pub with good food and attentive staff. Recommended.

Such a well-run, warm and welcoming establishment. Rebecca is accommodating even when it's a busy meal service. And chef Jamie -- all smiles and local good humor -- turns out fresh quality food. (Stayed here for 4 days and ate several meals.) Bonus points: Chaucer mentions the inn in his Canterbury Tales. 🙂

Love this Costa. Recently renovated and it looks great. So much space inside. I don't like that there's one toilet though. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The place was very clean and had plenty of seating and parking.
