The potatoes were blistered and not crispy all, like they were cooked old school style in veg oil. The carrots tasted like they were cooked in dirty water. The meat was tasteless and limited. Staff were friendly and welcoming shame the chef can't cook. Response to reply. I think you'll find the children in our group left food which would of been more if their parents hadn't made them eat more. I didn't say everything at the time as my brother asked me not because he finds it embarrassing. Thanks for your offer of a free meal but I'll pass.

From the minute you walk through the door, there is a warm welcome and a sense of community. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday Carvery. Wow. The beef was amazing!! 😋 lovely family run business- especially the six year old waitress 💜 will return on my next visit to Kent 🌟great value and delicious food! Dog friendly too 🐾🐾

Not attended the restaurant but have had it delivered to our home and the food arrived hot and very delicious, the communication from the delivery driver as excellent and friendly would love to visit the restaurant some day.

Stumbled upon this pub whilst out cycling on Saturday afternoon. Very friendly landlady and customers. The impromptu Karaoke went down a treat.

Stopped off randomly on our way back home, as saw the carvery sign nearby. Wasn't disappointed, fitted us in and gave us a nice welcome. All staff friendly and food was great and home cooked. Thank you. Will stop off again when up that way 👍

Had a Sunday roast dinner delivery today we would like to say it was delicious and look forward to many more thanks.

Best carvery I've ever had in my life! We eat out alot and I've always sworn you can't get a better roast than my own mums roast but my god the food here is amazing is proper home cooked comfort food!! I'm sat here thinking about it now especially the cauli cheese & the gravy 😋 Also they were so family friendly which is lovely as I do get anxious taking my toddlers out to resteraunts but all the staff were so cheerful and nice! We will definitely be coming back, worth the 30 minute drive from our house 100%!

I've just experienced the nicest Sunday lunch I've had in many years, we go out most Sunday's and sample local restaurants and pubs and even michelin star establishments and this tops the lot. A warm and friendly family welcome with such super friendly attentive staff that really make the experienced extra special, great beer and the desserts are delicious although it was a push to squeeze it in due to me filling up my plate with so many fresh and delicious vegtables and roast potatoes I'm glad I did. I've never had delicious cauliflower cheese too. The gravy was also like nothing I've had before and would love to know that family recipe. All in all a great place to eat and I can't wait to go back again. Thanks to a the staff for a lovely afternoon.

Best calvary around and really Friendly family pub

Myself and my friends were on a weekend get away together and was recommended this family run pub. We had such a lovely afternoon, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the carvery was just so tasty. Even though we were completely full from our meal we couldn’t resist the deserts which were good old family favourites. We had one of each and just passed them round and we weren’t disappointed. Big thank you to Lisa who looked after us and made an amazing Calipso 😂 thank you for a memorable afternoon.

Something of a rarity these days but this very traditional non-corporate pub delivers on service and hospitality. There's even a 'sweet shop' at the insistence of the landlords young daughter. Although not active during my visit, there appears to be a lively social calendar with regular music and events.

Stopped by unexpected pleasure warm welcome great Sunday lunch definitely worth it have revisited 7-8 times since still all good friendly staff still 5 stars

The Sunday Carvery is amazing. The cauli cheese and gravy are the best, tender meat and lovely roasties. Family atmosphere. Would go no where else for Sunday lunch. Little gem!!!

Had the luxury of coming here for Christmas dinner and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, the food and drink are excellent and the general atmosphere of the pub is chilled and family-friendly. Would wholeheartedly recommend a visit.

My first time ordering for delivery. The man I spoke to was lovely and squeezed me in for delivery. Omg the food is amazing and very true about the amazing gravy. Definitely will be back . And thank you all really did enjoy your roast.

Great evening at the Four Horseshoes on Friday evening 29th July featuring UB40 and Bob Marley tribute act. Great supper served, lots of choice and very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. 👍😊🎶

Oldy worldy pub staff very pleasant

Lovely friendly pub/restaurant, we were a big party but they were able to accommodate us very well. They were quite happy for us to bring our own cakes. The food was ok plenty of meat but the turkey was dry and some of the roast potatoes had been left whole and were very big and consequently not cooked properly, they were very busy and i think may be a bit rushed but in the whole it was a good experience and would go again.

Terrible. Took a friend for Sunday lunch, the meat was so cold it felt like it had just come our the fridge. Beef was very dry, had not been freshly cooked. Roast potatoes were raw in the middle. Cabbage was swimming in water, gravy was cold. At least the Yorkshire pudding we’re ok. Very disappointing, will not be returning.

Lovely pub really top class food

Always great food at affordable prices and a very friendly family run business. The pub has had a makeover recently and looks amazing and there are regular music nights. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely pub great food real friendly atmosphere my family are made to feel very welcome we go every year to play bat and trap in their lovely garden we also had my mum's funeral there and a beautiful roast dinner thank you to all the staff for a fantastic day x

Lovely food and friendly service. Came upon this on the off chance having taken dogs on beach and fancied a quick drink. Landlady opened the gate to the garden and allowed us to take the six dogs in. Very hospitality. Ordered drinks and food and was well worth the wait. Home cooked freshly made and delicious. We had chicken shish kebabs , burgers and the pepperoni pizza was the best I have tasted in a long time. Loaded fries were well loaded!! 👍👍 Definitely will be back there and recommend. Thank you

Best Sunday roast in Kent. Not even joking. Proper portions and proper food. Puddings are delightful too, apple crumble where you actually have more crumble than apple!! Heaven! Fully recommend.

It’s such a shame we won’t get to perform here again this Christmas! But we did have the pleasure of a lovely Saturday lunch here last week. I’m extremely cautious about Covid but I have to say I found the bar, restaurant and toilet all exceptionally clean. We were served by a lady wearing a mask and visor. We felt comfortable and happy with the friendly chat we received. We will be back to try something else on the menu as it all looks lovely! Thank you for your hospitality - Grace & Matt

A really friendly place that served an enormous and delicious Sunday roast carvery. It is brought to your table rather than DIY during Covid-time. Very clean.

Just had home delivery of fish and chips, got to say it was excellent hot crispy batter and a huge portion on chips. After 3 weeks of isolation it was a very welcome treat. Thankyou 4 Horseshoes. X

Used to visit here all the time on the bikes as a solo rider and take groups of cyclists when it was The Freewheel. This pub no longer welcomes or caters for cyclists so I nor my cycling groups go there now.

Excellent customer service and great for families

No longer the freewheel and no longer interested in passing cyclists. Not open at the times shown either on Google or on the door.

I found the food excellent. The staff were helpful and polite Overall a very good experience. However we were slightly overcharged on the bill by accident When questioned the amount I was made to feel that I was trying to con them . The older lady I dealt with was abrupt and frankly unfriendly and in my opinion rather rude. She finally checked with the young man who had served us who confirmed the unintentional error and a refund was made. Till that point I would have wanted to go back there.(Again the food was excellent) however the older lady has probably put us off returning You don't get customers to come back when you are rude However the rest of the staff were brilliant.

It's so friendly with real home cooking. It had reverted to it's old name of The Four Horseshoes and the atmosphere is great.

Stumbled across the pub a couple of years ago on a short cycling holiday and popped in for coffee and cake. So impressed that we went for breakfast today during another short cycling break and found it closed. The web site clearly shows opening hours of 9am to 9pm, and we were there until about 9.15 am but no sign of life! Disappointing!!😢I
