UPDATE - My original review is below however later I thought it actually unfair to judge a restaurant based on one poor assistant (I would hope not the manager) and that actually we never know what is going on in someones personal life to make them act in this way - this lady may actually usually be a lovely person and we caught her on a bad day. However when I came to edit my review I saw the reply from the manager whose only response was to quote our Queen 🙈 This changed my view slightly especially given I know what happened and this is disappointing but I understand the approach to dismiss the comments as exaggerated and I'm sure I would react the same. But I hope my comments have still been taken on board by the restaurant and other customers will have a better experience as reserved signs or instructions on a board to ask for a table would avoid any upset for customers and I'm sure less stress for staff 😊 No one wants to feel they are in the headmasters office. We popped in for a drink and food on a visit to Minster. On walking in there was no signs saying what to do and being a pub we sat down and asked a lady who worked there with a pony tail how we order. She then very rudely told us off that we couldn't just walk in and take other peoples tables, that we should have booked and that we 'cant just behave like that.' Rather shocked we then apologised and asked if there was a free table (there were many empty and no reserve signs anywhere) to which she started looking at her piece of paper rolling her eyes and sighing that this was clearly a lot of trouble for her. At that point we politely told her we felt she had a bad attitude and would eat elsewhere. Incredibly disappointing and put a sour note on what was already a difficult day. It costs nothing to be kind - something that obviously hasn't been picked up on by this pub. We won't return and would advise others to give your money to somewhere who appreciates the custom and speaks to people with a little more kindness and respect.

The children loved the food . The 3 Young lady was lovely.

I have visited here a few times and enjoyed each and every visit and meal. Lovely family and dog friendly pub with great food and generous portions. Would recommend.

Lovely place with proper pub grub that tasted fresh and flavoursome. The service was warm and friendly, even the dog got a large handful of Turkey! Thank you, we’ll be back!!

I was there for a friend's birthday. There was a band called Avanzi playing and they were excellent. The owners were great fun and the staff behind the bar very helpful. Unfortunately there was no food available, but it didn't mess up the evening. Will definitely go back.

Called in on a Sunday on the off chance. Glad we did, lovely food , very reasonably priced. Staff permitting cleaning. Then a Beetles tribute band. Highly recommend and will be back.

Only benefit is that they’re dog friendly. Staff are slow and don’t want to service you unless you’re a regular. I was ignored multiple times. Food was over priced and of poor quality. We also waited 40 minutes for 3 main meals. There were multiple dirty tables that were not cleaned the whole time we were there even though the waitress walked past them several times. Note: when we came it was not busy. Very disappointed and a true waste of money. Don’t come here!

Super Father’s Day carvery. Tasty. Plenty of freshly cooked meat and veg. Really great value, thank you.

The roast dinner was amazing. Home made food, home made yorkshires with plenty of choice of freshly cooked vegetables. Really friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Thank you for an amazing lunch

Absolutely wonderful food (carvery). Not expensive! Vegetables so perfectly cooked. The staff were great, helpful and good humoured. Hated the background music, then again I hate background music in any pub. It causes everyone to raise their voice, making it even harder to chat. Then the guy singing and playing guitar in the middle of the afternoon was even worse, boring slow songs. Ignoring the music problem I loved the place and will return.

My favourite pub on the island. It’s comfortable, welcoming and had a great range of food and drinks. Dog biscuit on welcome for your furry friend, outdoor seating which is beautiful is summer and right by the sea. Its interior is rustic but modern, and staff are always quick to serve and poor your favourite drinks. There’s also board games and booths, a pool table and live music. It’s exactly what you want from a pub

Haven’t eaten there yet but a lovely place and my dogs even got a little treat.

Nice carvery on Sundays, been few times now with my partner Richard and molly who also gets treats from the bar and staff. Womans football on TV and even made bacon sandwiches, beer and coffee I brought for us too. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere thank you x

We was looking for a dog friendly pub whilst on holiday in Leysdown and found this little gem!!! we phoned on the friday for availability on their Sunday carvery, yes we got booked for 12pm. On arrival we could smell the home cooked food. Amazing. I had the large carvery and my wife had the regular carvery was help yourself to roast potatoes parsnips mashed carrot and swede savoy cabbage garden peas and cauliflower cheese the beef gravy was so tasty best I’ve ever had. Homemade yorkies too. Choices of meat was beef turkey or gammon. Homemade Victoria sponge for pudding our little dog was made to feel very welcome too by a lovely member of staff who gave her some beef and turkey from the carvery as well as her own water bowl. I would recommend this beautiful pub to ever And will definitely return in the future

Great pub, live music, delicious food, wonderful staff

We went to this place on a bank holiday around 2pm, Fully expecting longer than average waiting times for food. We chose this place because it had a good range of vegetarian options. Lovely atmosphere and close to the beach. However, we waited 45 minutes for the food after we ordered so we enquired how much longer it would be, we was told another 30 minutes at least..! we had somewhere to be at 4pm, so we left at 3pm hungry & annoyed. I’m sure this place is lovely, but unfortunately due to the hostility we received when told it would be at least another 30 minutes from the point of asking we wasn’t happy. A refund after asking was provided fortunately! Thankyou. We was never even told a wait was expected from the point of ordering (it was quiet when we ordered) but by the time we had enquired it had picked up. Presume our order had been missed.

First visit to minster. Stony beach that goes into sand. Shallow water ideal for kids. A couple of cafes. 2 pubs. One was shut for a wedding reception so tried the beach bar and restaurant. Used by all the locals had a barbecue not your average food consisted of piela burgers sausages chicken fish new potatoes salads and pasta. What a treat. Very friendly would visit again.

Just passed 7pm and the landlady kindly cooked for me. Excellent food and good service. Becoming rarer these days. Pay them a visit

Definitely the best carvery I've ever been too, we turned up & was lucky enough to be able to eat as we hadn't pre booked, The staff are really lovely, & the food was absolutely delicious, I was eyeing up the desert menu before we ate, but I was so full I couldn't manage a pudding, next time I'm going to have a smaller portion,so I can try a pudding, best to pre-book, just delicious 😋😋😋

Very disappointed with the meal me and my partner had here we both ordered the Cod and Chips, mine came out slightly burnt when starting to eat we both noticed many bones inside the fish making it inedible. Wont be returning very unhappy!

All freshly cooked food, dog friendly. Great staff one woman running around on quite a busy Tuesday still had time for a lil chat with us, and to give the doggo a lil treat!

Me, hubby, kids and doggies moved to Minster in January from living in Rochester, we haven't regretted it one bit, we tried the beach a couple of times, 1st time was the breakfast, which was so nice, and the 2nd time was on mother's day, and we all had the carvery, which the portion size was huge, it was also lovely, we couldn't fault any of it. The staff are so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. So I think we have found our new local pub, it would be lovely to meet new people. Can't wait to visit again.

The best Roast in UK! No Joke.. Amazing ambience, great decor, good variety of drinks. Location is perfect for walks by the sea, very dog friendly. Svetlana and Robert pub owners are super friendly and kind. All team very attentive and always fun. Highly recommend this local gem, is only 30min drive from Rochester.Thank you very much all.

Went out with the missus a couple of the work family and discovered this place !!! Definitely has become a new local. Traditional pub with all the great features to go with it. Prices was fantastic, the sweet potato fries are a must. Friendly staff and a great location.

A little gem of a pub. Sunday carvery roast is lovely with good home cooked (no aunt bessies here!) Food. Welcoming staff. Would recommend.

Only went for cuppa. Friendly service. Great looking homemade Victoria sponge on counter. Good pot of tea for two with bics .£2.40. Varied menu with more than usual selection for vegan.

Popt in after a walk. Staff were lovely no thanks to landlady whose constant criticism was very unkind and unprofessional. Take away landlady and you've got a nice pub. Food was ok ish. Will go again.

We were in Minster on Sunday and fancied lunch. Everywhere was very busy. We rang the Beach Bar and Amy said she could squeeze us in if we could wait for 15 minutes. She was extremely helpful and gave my granddaughter a colouring book and pencils without asking and took her order to speed things up. The carvery was very pleasant and bustling.
