A little gem on a busy road my first visit today with my elderly mum and was made so welcome from an earlier phone call for directions …. Which easy to find So pleased I went excellent food and fantastic valve friendly atmosphere from start to finish I felt like I’d known Nick ( the owner ) and Jackie for years The best bubble and squeak I’ve had in years looking forward to returning soon It may be a small diner but a big personality for a professional business

Very poor customer service. The young lady at the till ignored me once when she took my order, spoke to her manager about something else and then disappeared off to the kitchen. Came back and I had to repeat my order again. Had to clear our own table and then the manager came over when we asked where our drinks were. She said it was a 20 minute wait (for a tea and 2 coffees). Manager was very passive aggressive when we then asked for a refund as we couldn’t wait 20 minutes. Customers should be told this when they order. Will not be returning.

What a depressing experience. The lad serving never smiled, there was no pastries only cakes, at least the young lady was friendly. Coffee was good but please be more wrlcoming

No bar food and revolting lager tasting like soap. Had another side business indian takeaway upon the place that is placed now on the last used kitchen that is was condemed by health and safety due to this being a old toilet block that still consists of sewage and drains!!. DO NOT EAT FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Try the village for the real deal

The gardens were lovely, however we wanted to have tea in the topiary garden. So disappointing. The scones were awful they were so hard! ( it's not difficult to make a fresh scone). Paper cups, paper basin for the scone and victoria sponge. Cardboard knives! Cardboard spoons ! What ever has happened to enjoying a piece of cake and a cup of tea on a proper plate. Has this lackadaisical attitude evolved since lockdown? (It seems the case in many other places too). Or are we becoming a "can't be bothered society".
