The best restaurants serving Default food in Wallingford North South Oxfordshire South East

Stopped by here for Sunday lunch with mum. The lamb roast was reasonably priced, quite tasty but didn't blow us away. The thing that sadly took away from our experience was the attitude of staff about our ice creams. We bought the soft serve but it tasted rancid sour like off milk. I politely took these back to the bar and explained but was fobbed off and told that's just the type of cream they use, because it lasts all year, 'that's just how it tastes'. Wasn't best pleased with this response - the thing still tastes disgusting even if it's not off. When you advertise something as a familiar Mr Whippy brand there's a certain expectation of what flavour you will get. I had hoped for a refund or for my feedback to be taken more seriously rather than being told I can just throw it away if I didn't want it. *Edit* 2 years later, they have responded to this review. Rather than learning from the feedback they have doubled down on the snarky attitude: "Apologies for serving a quality product"? Apologies you didn't get the point of this review. I can see that you respond to other negative reviews with defensiveness and sarcasm. Shame to see. Taking off a star.

Ordered a takeaway at 5:15pm to be delivered at 7pm. Had to chase the food at 7:15pm that had not even left the restaurant by that point, and did not receive it until 7:30pm. The guy on the phone just laughed and said his driver was slow & that I should take it up with him. Good food but awful & unprofessional service. Shame as I won't be back because of his attitude.

Not sure if we turned up on a bad night, but we booked in advance ,when we got there they knew nothing about the booking. The guy behind the counter was very rude and really poor attitude, poor service and unwelcoming all through the meal, did not ask us if we wanted any more drinks durring the meal, just very unpleasant experience, won't be back that's for sure, food was okay

Table booked for 3.30pm ... Placed an order for starters & mains to be told there is a waiting time of 1 hour for starters so cancelled starters ... Food then arrived within 15 minutes !! ... So then ordered desserts, again to be told there is a 1 hour wait, so ordered anyway, & guess what arrived within 15 minutes again ... Total lack of communication between the Kitchen & bar staff ... The food was hot & pretty good & the guy delivering the food was very friendly ... One irritating issue is why can't you cook a fried egg that isn't like a Frisbee??

Quite disappointed the last time I bought sushi’s. The rice wasn’t well cooked and the fish was almost frozen. It was much more better a year ago. I don’t think I will buy again at this branch.

The young ones try to do a good job—bless ’em—but efficiency always seems to slip through their fingers like a greased-up Tesco bag. Good intentions, tragic execution.

Called last night and the food was excellent, nearly didn't due to other reviews glad I ignored them.

Standard of fresh food has slipped a bit.

It was the first time that I was disappointed with the lack of flavours in all the food. What a shame after many years of serving a good food. I hope you'll get better soon so I can enjoy your food again.

Recommend the pizza! Pudding wasn't my favourite (sticky toffee). Nice environment, big portions for roast!

Delivery was late food wasn’t hot batter on fish was rubbery and cold , chips soggy and just warm from being in paper to long . Kebab meet dry and burnt worst meal had from them . Need to get more delivery drivers and not giving to many orders to one driver as to many late orders . At least the pigeons & jackdaws injoyed the cold fish & chips this morning

Time and again authentic south East Asian cuisine. Love the Singapore noodles.

I decided to try the famous vegan sausage roll for the first time and was seriously disappointed. It wasn't very hot and was stodgy. I went to the toilets and they were filthy. Needless to say, I walked straight back out!

After getting the toppings wrong on my delivered pizza twice in a row. Customer service acknowledged the shop weren't going to get it right and refunded the cost of the topping. So be aware if booking online you may not get the pizza you ordered

Pizza was good but our table was really dirty. Having seen grey streaks I wiped it with a napkin and showed the resulting grey tissue to staff who apologised but also didn't do anything about it. This should not happen and we won't go again to this branch as a result.
