The best restaurants serving Default food in Brockenhurst and Forest South East New Forest South East

Good service from Brad and Issy Delicious food, albeit that Caesar salad was short on salad and long on Chicken and dressing.

I’ve been here a few times and normally find the food reasonable but £26 for this? I’ll leave it to you to decide.

Popular local bar with great selection of drinks. Food menu looked good as well

We chose to stop here specifically as there was a rapid charger for our EV. The grounds are relaxing and quiet. The conservatory restaurant had a good atmosphere and the service friendly and courteous. We had the Gnocchi and Ploughmans for lunch. Both were very tasty and well presented. Puddings were light and refreshing. Prices are not cheap but good food is worth paying for. Having tried out the restaurant and general ambience we are very likely to arrange a weekend break here soon.

Repas typique, bien exécuté. Ambiance de pub chaleureuse. Nous y sommes retourné a plusieurs reprises pendant notre sem de vacances à brockenhurst. Les chiens y sont bienvenue. À savoir: pour service il faut sonner la cloche au dessus du bar!

Amazing place to stay or celebrate an occasion super friendly staff very attentive great attention to detail through out. Defiantly recommen.

4 night stay in school holidays. Negative: The rooms although are clean are incredibly dated, chipped paint and old bathroom and carpets are stained. Positive: The beds are comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is not in the hotel but it is opposite across the car park which is a benefit as it doesn't make anything smell of food. Swimming pool is smaller than expected, as the photos make it look bigger. The opportunity to walk straight from the hotel was great. Walked into Lyndhurst with a view of getting a taxi back.... £26 for 3.5 miles.... so we walked back to!

Lovely old traditional pub in a beautiful part of the New Forest. Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, delicious food at reasonable price. Never disappoints.

Spent an enjoyable 3 nights at Balmer Lawn but not sure we'd stay again. Hotel is quite local to us and a place we are familiar with and in lovely location in heart of New Forest. Staff were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was good with plenty of choice, dinner in the restaurant was very good, use of local produce always a bonus. However, we thought our room on the top floor was very drab and certainly not what we would expect from a 4* hotel. It was also noisy as above the outside terrace area and facing the very busy through road. Housekeeping was very good but there was no mini fridge to keep drinks cold or safe for valuables. The bathroom was small and having to climb into a bath to shower is not acceptable or safe. I did raise the issue of poor quality pillows and having a nice fluffy pillow would add to sleep quality.

Lovely couple of meals outside . Pea and mint soup and garden pappardelle were delicious . Staff friendly and attentive . Foccacia with tomato dip unusual. The negative reviews were not our experience and we think the menu must have changes an awful lot as there weee no pizzas !

Excellent service, the food was the best chinese meal we have had. Kung Po king prawn & a king prawn chow mein. Our now regular take away restaurant.

Wonderful experience! Food was brilliant. Argentinian asado cooking with an asian twist. We want to do it all again next year!

Great place for a cup of tea and a piece of cake. What more could you want from a quiet enclosed area with great tea, coffee and cake. Perfect.

This restaurant is an absolute nightmare. The coffee is dreadful, and it’s obvious they have no idea how to make it properly. But the worst part is the staff – they are rude, unfriendly, and completely disrespectful. These people have no place in the restaurant business. Their behaviour is appalling, and they don’t deserve to run this establishment. I strongly advise against visiting this place. It’s a complete disappointment!

Gorgeous cosy pub with open fire, with lovely food ! We had the yummy venison stew - recommended ! Grrat service. If I lived nearer, I'd visit regularly.
