We came for lunch around 12 pm on a Tuesday thinking it be nice and quiet, on the contrary, it became pretty much fully booked out with diners. The service was swift for us and the staff with professional and friendly. We ordered a sausage sandwich, french onion soup with bowl of chips. The portion size was very generous using quality ingredients. So we understood why it was such a popular place.

A perfect location for a short hiking getaway in the New Forest - a friendly pub with a vibrant atmosphere and very welcoming of dogs. The accommodation is clean and cosy with all that is required for a couple and their dog - we had a great break.

Close to the Motoring Museum, it was a good location for us. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was tasty and generous in portions. The dinner specials were outstanding!

Stayed here for one night with family and the dog. Cute little rooms with a kitchenette and attached bathroom. They were basic but well done and served their purpose. The room was a little bit cold but otherwise fine. The staff were very kind and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay.

Stopped by here for lunch today as the food smelled fantastic, sadly they refused to serve us as they didn't have a big enough table available (four people) and advised us to wait outside in the very freezing weather until a table became available...not exactly welcoming. We also had a 1 year old with us so waiting outside wasn't really an option. Also no accessible toilets and no baby changing facilities.

Lovely pub out in the southern forest, we enjoyed a lovely meal with venison and gammon steaks. The owner came out to see us and tell us a bit about the venison's provenance and have a general chit chat - look out for the poacher's gun he found when renovating the property years ago! Good beers and friendly clientele made for a welcome retreat from a (very) wet day outside.

Gorgeous little pub with lots of character, just had the food and was perfect. We are in a camper van and staying at the back for free what not to like. Local ale is really good too, highly recommended.

Met up for lunch with family in this traditional country pub. The food was great and, while service was a bit chaotic, the staff could not have been keener to get our order right and we're admirably good humoured. The atmosphere was lively, with lots of local customers and walkers.

At Waterloo napoleon did surrender as did I to the charms of this fabulous pub. It's got character and charm in abundance. Ticked all the boxes for the quintessential great British boozer. Voudriez vo
