Foresters Arms in New Forest

En route back from Southampton we broke our train journey home @ Brockenhurst and dropped into the Forresters for a couple of drinks - Saturday evening husell and bussel - a busy local with atmosphere - great for a drink and being near to station was really handy.

Nice pub conveniently located near the station. They have a large outdoor area, perfect for nice evenings and a relaxing stop on the way back from a hike in the New Forest.

We had a meal at the Foresters Arms last Thursday and we were so glad we did-the food was great-I had a beef and ale pie-all home made and absolutely authentic-we were there with our dog and we were made to feel so welcome-nothing was too much trouble-just wish we lived closer as this a great pub!

Amazing food and the staff are lovely. Sunday lunch is a must!

Pretty nice food, decent vegetarian selection too. Very small vegan selection. Tons of delicious deserts, fast service too. Friendly staff.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch end of September as staying at Roundhill campsite up the road for the night. We chose it as it was dog friendly and had gluten free options and good reviews. We had a lovely Sunday roast followed by gluten free sponge pudding and custard! The portions were so generous and the whole meal was great value for money. The staff were really friendly and helfpul too - especially re my gluten-free needs. We highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back when we are next in the area.

Visited for a Sunday Lunch - we had a 2 meat roast (lamb and beef) which came with all the trimmings at a very reasonable price (4 types of veg, potatoes, stuffing, giant pig in blanket, Yorkshire etc) and a burger which was very good too. I highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding which was to die for!! Will be returning and raving to all our friends, lovely food and service and all at a decent price too.

Had lunch here with friends. The food was very good with big portions especially the apple crumble dessert! Decent choice of beers too. Good service from friendly staff. Just a few minutes walk from Brockenhurst station too.

Stopped mid cycle ride for lunch. Nice big beer garden, and bike racks. Food was fine although the chips were disappointingly anaemic.

Always a good selection of cask beers. Never been disappointed with the food. The Mussels were perfect. It was lunchtime so difficult to comment on atmosphere.

Great pub with real people - staff and customers alike! The steak pie was also very real and delivered in spades with crisp pastry and plenty of rich tender beefy chunks. When you are asked if you would like extra gravy i can recommend a definite yes.

One of my favourite pubs in Brockenhurst. Quick and good quality food which is sensibly priced. Nice selection of beers and ciders and a massive beer garden with somewhere to put your bike 🚲

Well what to say, this pub was last updated when I was choosing what colour loon pants to buy and I think they put the veg on then as well! Had the steak pie, the meat was nice but the pastry was so soggy and the gravy served with it was 50% fat, and the roasties had obviously been cooked hours before, it was almost inedible. Choose a pub in Brockenhurst wisely

We were camping in the New Forest and on just one day, it rained all day so we decided to go out for dinner and found the Foresters Arms in Brockenhurst. The dinners were superb and thorough enjoyable. Big portions as well. So were the pudding! Service was very good and attentive even though the pub was packed full. Will definitely visit again when we're next in the area.

Nice venue, friendly staff. Didn't get to try the food but what I saw go out looked great. Good value and situated close to the train station. Will definitely be revisiting.

Best Sunday lunch Ive had out probably ever! Not usual peas and carrots, there was turnip, red cabbage etc beautifully presented and beef melted in the mouth. Genuinely, really, really good. We ate in the covered veranda as we had the dogs with us. Shame we were on holiday as I could eat there again!

It is a great pub to enjoy the back garden with a drink. It is always busy and it is great to enjoy sunny days. It has a different atmosphere and it is pet friendly. Very nice pub.

What a shame! Another great destination pub where Marstons have allowed the inferior Flacks ales to fill the void left by taking out Ringwood Ales and especially the peerless Forty Niner. Nothing to look forward to at the bar now but rest assured the food remains excellent

Great pub food in a great pub. They have plenty of outdoor seating but we chose indoors as it was hot and sunny. There are two areas: the sort of 'lounge bar' at the back and the main bar area at the front. There is no car park but the nearby station car park allows hourly parking via RingGo after 12noon. The food was excellent and well presented. The servers were friendly and attentive.

I booked a grouo of my friends for dinner. And I want to say that it was very well organised, the food came out in time and it was all delicious. The service was excellent definitely coming back. A special thanks to Luca for his attentive manner.

Dog friendly pub almost to the point as the four legged friends are more welcome than us humans, lovely resident dog who roams free, great bar staff, lovely outside area made better by the sunshine and local residents.

We stopped for lunch while exploring the New Forest cycling trails. The food was amazing !! There is plenty of outdoor seating with the option for sitting in the shade. Cycle racks are installed in the garden so there is no problem storing your bike while you eat.

Visited this place for lunch during our stay in Brockenhurst. Highly recommended for super tasty food that gives you a real british countryside experience !! Thoughtful decor & smiling staff made it a happy experience.

Love the beer garden, great food surprisingly cheap considering location. Also great for family catch ups and stop off for walking routes. Definitely visit again

It was a good place to stop on our way home from a fishing trip I didn't try any food and parking was a bit of a pain but it was a good place to stop

We’ve just had 3 perfect days staying in the New Forest, and we love the Foresters, I had the special-sea bass, the best meal I have had in ages, plus wonderful friendly service, thank you so much

Friendly service You never have to wait long to get served. Very efficient, tables are cleared on a very regular basis. Wouldn't recommend the veggie burger.

Cannot recommend this pub highly enough. The food is excellent and plentiful, no-one leaves hungry! I have a gluten intolerance and they cooked a special meal for me, who else would do that?! Special thanks to Katy who made all the arrangements without being asked. Will return whenever we are in the area.

We had a great Sunday lunch here. Lamb, beef and vegetarian roasts were tasty, hot and good sized portions. Little extras like the stuffing and extra gravy if required made all the difference and we will definitely return.

Southampton Ramblers popped in on 11th Dec for our Christmas walk and lunch. I had a traditional Christmas meal. It was very good

Have just eaten here as me and the wife are on a breakaway to the New Forest and were looking for some traditional pub grub. This rating is based on the food, I had a chicken bacon and leek pie, which came potatoes and a bowl of vegetables, and my wife had the burger and chips. We were greeted warmly, the food came out in a very reasonable time frame and the food was extremely good as quite often it can be hit and miss with pub food. My slice of pie was ram packed full of chicken and tasted amazing. The roast potatoes were ok, nothing special. My wife commented that the burger was great quality meat, (her meal came with salad as well, but we asked for no salad). I loved the fact that the food was bot over salted and yet tasted fantastic. We paid a very reasonable £14.95 for each meal and was worth every penny. The atmosphere was good with the sports side of the pub brimming with people. Woudl certainly recommend this place if you are in the area and fancy some decent pub grub

Wonderful place. No frills pub, your traditional local pub, but the food is out of this world, and certainly not what I was expecting. Lovely service and very accommodating for our large party of 15. Food was prompt and absolutely delicious

Pubs these days are all about the food. This is a tourist pub so you know what that means....pricey.

Really cozy little gem of a pub. Prefect of your driving through and want a quick and cozy bite to eat, parking is easy with a contactless payment parking around a 2 minute walk away in the train station car park. Really friendly and accommodating staff. We spent around £30 on food and drinks and it was an absolutely delicious feast. Around £15 pp for food. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a nice pub lunch in Brockenhurst

It's not often I will say somewhere is 5 star but the food, service, waiting time on food etc was all fantastic today! The pub was fairly busy, but it was one of the best meals put I have had in a long time! The teepee outside was very warm and gave a great atmosphere!

Thursday night last week... rocked up with no booking the pub staffed by pleasant young men shown to a choice of two tables picked the most dog friendly ( large golden retriever with us) Drinks ordered menu perused fish and chips followed by tasty and generous ice cream All round first rate

The burger is massive with salad and fries and absolutely delicious! The waiters were very friendly and attentive!

Great little out door spot for a few beers. Slight downside was the toilets are grubby and the baby change was literally behind the door for the women’s only so couldn’t open the door and change a baby.

I had a wonderful time with my friends but one of the female bartenders were really rude to us, being cold and very obviously giving the girls dirty looks. I went to go pick up drinks and was questioned about my nationality and was told I should know about the country before wearing this top that was labelled with the countries name. Felt really uncomfortable and weird as I didn't even initiate conversation and was suddenly called out for my attire and laughed at. Tell me how is it any different to having a jumper labelled as London or American states? Very upset. Edit: this happened around 29TH of July

Lovely pub situated in Brockenhurst. Dog friendly, which was very important for us. All the staff were nice and friendly and all made us feel welcome. Didn’t have any food but the menu looked lovely, especially the pudding section. We’ll definitely try the food next time we visit the lovely area. Definitely recommended a try.

We reserved a outside table for a Sunday roast dinner while cycling around the New Forest. I had the ‘two-meat’ roast with beef and lamb which was huge with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and an additional plate of veg to share with my partner. The service was quick and the plates were hot. Highly recommended

Very close to the train station (Brockenhurst), not only their cool inside but also they have a lovely beer garden, so it’s a nice place to grab a pint while waiting for the train🍻
