45-minute wait for small breakfast plates which came out cold. They were a chef down but didn't warn us of the wait when we arrived or were ordering. They seem to have some sort of problem every 3rd/4th visit over the last 3 years. Will definitely not risk visiting again when hungry or in a hurry! A smart move would on their part would have been to have only offered tea / coffee and cake / scones. Unless pre-booked. But there never seems to be an empowered manager on shift.

This is a place that I visit on a regular basis. The food has always been fab. Many options, whether you just fancy a coffee and cake, or a sandwich. All cakes are baked daily and the coffee is so good. They also prepare a larger menu which changes daily. Can get very busy so sometimes it’s a bit noisy.

Kids meal came with bits of plastic netting in it. When told, the server didn’t seem to think this was an issue and said ‘it wasn’t me that cooked it’ instead of apologising. We then had to persuade them to make a new meal.

For all those who enjoyed the food, friendly staff and pleasant environment at Steff's be warned, the construction work (scheduled until Jan 2025), has made the main dining area dark and rather claustrophobic. This could be greatly improved by opening the 'log room' which offers the daylight which the main room is now lacking. Unfortunately staff continue to be reluctant to open this room.

My husband and I are frequent visitors. Portions of food are getting smaller, if you order eggs and rashers of bacon, you only get one egg and two tiny rashers of bacon? At this point, the food is very expensive and you don't get value for the money. You have to pay upfront or sometimes you are are allowed to keep a tab. It seems a high turnover of staff, always looking for a chef. However, staff was always friendly and nice.

Have visited many times. We like the garden centre and destination. For some reason they changed to table service and since the n it seems to have gone downhill. Many tables were dirty and uncleared. We thought we would sit at the front outside only to be told that was for the takeaway cafe also Steff’s, across the road. So we were told to sit and wait to be served. Not many clean tables left but we found some and sat. Waited and no one came so we decided to sit in the front garden and use the takeaway. Two teas, I small Apple juice carton and three pieces of cake that were not the same as the cake in the cafe and quite unimpressive. We walked back across the road and sat in the garden £17:50 lighter in the pocket! I know everyone needs to make a profit but two tea bags, a splash of milk. A juice box and three pieces of not impressive cake! Seriously?! Won’t return to the cafe in a hurry which is a shame. It’s a lovely location but very over priced.

We arrived just after opening for breakfast to be told annoyinly that there is a 30 minute wait as food is cooked to order , surely chef has cooked some breakfast items ahead of service .There was already at least 20 customers seated so I doubt if food was going to be wasted. To me this is lack of planning and prep .As an x chef having cooked many breakfasts not sure why this is an issue ? Also found that it was expensive at over £30 for 2 adults and a small child .A shame as the food was good.

We have going here most weeks for for about 3 years now and had never had a bad meal or experience. The staff are always so warm and welcoming and food great, however, the menus have recently vastly changed and prices soared, the biggest disappointment is that the quality of ghe food served has gone down a lot, gave it another chance today after a bad experience about 3 weeks ago but won't be going back again now, the jacket potato was overcooked and congealed and barely lukewarm, the prawns were good though. The ham egg and chips was bad, one of the eggs had clearly been cooked much earlier than the other as it was dry wrinkled and hard, ham was going grey round the outside too.

Excellent range of cakes all made on site, they say. We had the chocolate and cherry cake and a fruit scone. The scones are huge, although a little crumbly, but good value for money as a cream tea. Shocking that this place comes up in Google searches as vegan friendly. Despite advertising as home grown produce, and despite being part of a farm shop, the non meat options are extremely limited. I am so glad that we saw this place on the Internet when looking for somewhere to eat. It was fabulous. On a very miserable and cold day, it was lovely to step inside to the warmth and comfort of such a nice restaurant. I ordered the cheese and tuna toasted sandwich and I have to say it was the nicest I have ever had. So fresh and hot on lovely bread with a crisp side salad. Mum had the mushroom soup which was piping hot and plenty of it. The ladies serving were all so pleasant and friendly. It was very very busy but the service was quick, but without you feeling rushed. Really nice coffee shop in a quaint village. Although they were very busy the manager let us sit in an area that had been closed to customers. We were served very quickly. The cream teas were huge and delicious. My son said the chips that came with the toastie were the best he’d ever had. The kids were slightly disappointed that their milkshake were made with powder or syrup rather than thick shakes. But they aren’t advertised as thick shakes. All the cakes looked delicious, but unfortunately we were too full to try them.

We decide that breakfast out would be a treat on the morning of our 55th wedding anniversary. Steff’s was the first place that sprung to mind, so off we went. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived at 9.15 so we sat overlooking the outdoor displays of Fairweathers. We ordered one vegetarian breakfast and one Beaulieu breakfast which you will see on the picture. Not only were they beautifully presented and served but they were clearly freshly cooked along with tea and coffee and toast. It was the treat we had imagined thanks to all at Steff’s.

Servers are working hard but were not told of chef problems. We have recently moved to the area but won’t be coming back. After 47 minutes we got a refund for the breakfast bap only. On a long run and in need of a coffee popped into Stef's Kitchen to order a coffee. Didn't realise I had entered the restaurant, I asked for an Americano to take away and the lady told me to go to the kiosk on the other side of the road - it wasn't overly clear. Anyway, went over and had a lovely cup of coffee (£2.90) and great service. Collected the coffee from the window and went back over the road to sit outside the restaurant - which lots of cyclists and other explorers were clearly doing. A lovely spot to sit outdoors. We have been going to Steff's for many years abd have always had good food. Itxwas a little disappointing after covidv that lunch time snacks disappeared from the menu and went to their take away across the road. However, today we both ordered toasted sandwiches. We were told they would have to check as they were 'low in stock'. This was 12.15pm so at the start of lunch time. Anyway, all was well and we ordered our sourdough toasties. They arrived quite quickly but were burnt. The bread was black around the edges, rock hard and it was impossible to get a knife into. The ham in mine was black at the edges. We mentioned this to the waitress and she shrugged and told us they were just toasted in a machine. Due to the fact that payment is now taken at the point of ordering, nobody approached us to ask if we were enjoying our meal: in fact it was almost as if the staff were avoiding us completely. These sandwiches were £9 each and virtually inedible. We will be back to the garden centre but not the restaurant.

Popped in for afternoon tea with the grandchildren. They ordered the milk shakes - but were very disappointed. Firstly they got one order wrong so I went to the counter and watched her make the vanilla milkshake : just a little syrup in the bottom of a small plastic cup topped up with milk, not even stirred or shaken! The children said it was the worst milkshake they had ever tasted - not the standard one would expect from this establishment!!

Took ages to get anyone to take our order. We then ordered Stefs burger and a tuna baked potato and I asked for extra cheese with the baked potato. The order was read back to us and it was correct. The food turned up quickly, but there was cheese on the burger and no extra cheese with the potato. I explained I had ordered extra cheese and the waitress went to check. On return about five mins later she explained the kitchen had made a mistake and put the cheese in the burger, she could take the burger back and take of the cheese for me. I explained that was ridiculious so she then offered me the extra cheese but said I would be charged for it. I said so the kitchen made a mistake and if I want what I ordered I have to pay for their mistake. I was told this was the rules, she apologised and asked again if I wanted the cheese at an extra charge and I said no. The food was nice, I wouldn't say worth the price but it was fine. When I was almost finished my lunch, the waitress then came out with a pot of cheese and said no extra charge. While I appreciate this guesture it was after having to have discussions while the food went cold, then it was more or less eaten. Will not be returning due to the odd customer service, never have I eaten anywhere when I've been expected to pay to rectify the kitchen's mistake. Afternoon tea was disappointing, scones did not taste fresh.

We ordered 2 of the specials just after the lunch service began at noon. After 30 minutes we enquired as to how long the food would be and again after an hour. We were given differing information each time and there was an air of resigned indifference from the staff. The food finally arrived just over an hour after ordering. Surprisingly the food was well cooked and tasty. We were offered a couple of slices of cake to take away as an apology but we ended up with 2 disappointing cookies. The fast food elements of the menu were delivered to other customers very quickly but everything looked overcooked (burnt burger buns and fish batter). If you are going to offer specials then at least gear up the kitchen to deliver them in a timely manner and make sure the staff show a bit of interest in your customers. Having travelled from Dorset on a friend's recommendation to visit your restaurant we won't be in a hurry to return.

This is the 3rd time we have visited Steff's recently and the 3rd time we have come away without eating. First time we were told to substitute cow cheese for goat cheese in an omelette would cost an extra £4! We left. Second time we wanted breakfast but waited ages for our order to be taken by which time the breakfast slot had gone and we were in the hour break between breakfast and lunch. We left. Today we sat and were given menus. I asked if there was a long wait for food but told no, there was no long wait. A couple arrived after us and had their order taken before us despite the fact we were ready and trying to catch the server's eye. Ordered 2 ham, egg and chips. Waitress then came back and said it was a 30 minute wait. We left. It seems the kitchen cannot cope with anything more than about 60% capacity. We went opposite to the Steff's take away shop. Very expensive, tiny coffee (supposed large) and over priced sandwiches. Also, the sandwiches were priced at 5 shillings and toasties 6 shillings!! See picture. The lady in front of us was very confused at the weird slash / symbol instead of a pound £ sign. It's all such a shame because the food we had a few years back was good, its not the food it's just that they always seem to be utterly overwhelmed.

Hello myself and a friend had lunch today 7th June 2023 I chose the smoked salmon crayfish and avocado salad, next time I will ask for the rose marie sauce separately as it overpowered the flavour of the meal also it would easily feed 2/3 people maybe half the size and a few new potatoes or jacket potato, not a complaint about the food at all, we ordered 2 bottles of soft drinks and the waitress had no idea what we were talking about literally NO IDEA we had to ask another waitress who explained what we were wanting we also asked her for 1 to have NO ICE also 2 glasses of cold water with ice, she returned with 2 glasses of soft drinks with ICE and 2 glasses of water with NO ICE, I have worked in this industry for many years from waitress to head chef so I know how much effort goes into running this business but training is always very important. I enjoyed our lunch and I also appreciate the costs of providing good food, service and ambience but having a waitress who stands there and continues to just keep saying I don't know what you are talking about is not good. This used to be a decent place to eat when visiting Beaulieu. Now the price-to-quality ratio makes it not worth a visit. A garden centre café lunch at restaurant dinner prices. Won't be going again.

Visited during covid when they provided an excellent service in difficult conditions. Normal service resumed and we had an enjoyable visit, having coffee and scones. The scones were fresh and very tasty. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly, despite being very busy. It's part...

Our favourite cafe in Beaulieu. Always delicious snacks and cakes, really good coffee and warmly welcoming and efficient staff. Yesterday was the jewel in their crown…a fabulous Christmas lunch. Delicious, tender turkey, perfectly cooked vegetables and potatoes and tasty stuffing and pigs in blankets. Well...

My husband and I have always enjoyed visiting Steff's kitchen for a post dog walk coffee and snack. We accept that they don't allow dogs inside, not uncommon, but were very disappointed to find, on a beautiful sunny but frosty day, that all patio heaters...

We had a superb Christmas lunch today. Tempura King Prawns were delicious followed by traditional Turkey roast which was without doubt one of the best we have ever had. Both in our 70s so we’ve had a few! Lovely place with very efficient and friendly staff

Having read the reviews I wasn’t too sure as there are plenty of places in Ringwood to eat. But we went and the welcome was lovely, so that is always a good start. Menu was great, we were told it was new so great to see that they are making more on their food offering. Food was great, portion size good, flavour great, I had a burger and my friend a pizza and the pizza is so good and homemade which is so nice to see in a pub environment. We shall be back, we found it a great price for the quality and the team were attentive and polite. Apparently they are starting roast dinners soon, we shall be in for one of those. Thank you

We are local to The Red Shoot and met friends who were camping at the pub's campsite for lunch. The food and drinks were great. Can recommend the Henry Burger! Staff were friendly and chatty and we enjoyed the outside seating area and environment.
