The best restaurants serving Default food in Brockham, Betchworth and Buckland Mole Valley South East

We discovered this small cafe just a few years ago, and have visited regularly. It is not the place if you want a cooked meal, but has a nice range of sandwiches, baguettes, toasties and cakes, all reasonably priced. On our latest visit we had toasted cheese and ham sandwiches, followed by delicious chocolate caramel shortbread. Thankfully it's a quiet spot, with very pleasant staff. In warmer weather there is a small outdoor seating area, with views of The Mole and Boxhill. Pleasant and restful. The Garden Centre is good too, with an excellent range of plants.

Lovely place. Great coffee. Good variation of food with varying specials. Lovely staff!

We had the most delicious Sunday roast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. A bonus was a walk around the lake, which made the day very special.

Lovely food, big portions, stunning little garden and good service

My friends and I came for lunch after 1 previous visit before lockdown. We all opted for the roast dinner and wow - it was absolutely delicious!!! We all said it was the best roast dinner we'd ever had!!! Every part of it tasted amazing and we cleared our plates! We also couldn't resist having a dessert and those were also amazing, we're already planning our next visit!!!

We went to the Grumpy Mole for dinner. We have been several times but not for a while. We weren't disappointed. Great food and excellent service. Even though they were busy as the warm weather had encouraged more outside diners, we weren't rushed and had a lovely meal. Calamari, scallops, Stroganoff and Steak and Ale Pie which was on the specials menu, all very delicious.

This pub is an absolute gem, beautifully decorated with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent and the desserts are truly a highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy spot with quality food and a relaxed vibe.

Food was lovely but service poor and the experience was made worse by a group who allowed their children to use the outside dining area as a playground which went unchecked by the restaurant. The staff were completely inattentive, we ordered our drinks which took an age to come. The food was great but there was no salt & pepper, the only sauces were ketchup & an almost empty mayonnaise which had no date indicator on it. We waited an age for the bill & then even longer for the payment to be taken.

Both our meals were served barely warm let alone hot! Unforgivable. There were overflowing refuse containers directly at the main entrance, this set the scene , AVOID .

Visited recently and had mixed feelings. The pub itself is nice and offers a good range of drinks. I ordered the duck cakes with poached egg – unfortunately, the egg was undercooked, though the hunter’s chicken was enjoyable. The experience was let down by poor attention to detail and service. Our table was set with no napkins and mismatched cutlery (two forks and one knife), so we had to take from another table. The real issue was the customer service – it took ages to get served as the female staff member seemed more interested in chatting with the locals. Nobody checked on us during the meal, and it took over an hour for our dirty plates to be cleared. A lovely venue, but sadly not matched by the service.

I've visited this cafe many times over the years. The staff are always helpful and friendly, there is a good range of cakes and meals reasonably priced, with gluten free and veg options, and the coffee is lovely and hot! It's a pleasant place to sit looking out over the vegetation!

Great lunch as always thankyou chef Clare you are fabulous x. Brought some family to our fave pub today before going to the VE 80 street party in the village.
