Nice setting and location. Busy place and service staff looked a bit stretched, even though there seemed to be enough of them popping in and out of the kitchen area. Fish and chips quite good but the chicken in the chicken caesar salad was tough and, almost, inedible. Something that looked like brown curled up bacon in the salad did not look very appetizing.

We attended the most amazing family event at the Reverie. What a wonderful venue. Who knew? The food was amazing and the wine selection was great. We were so lucky with the weather and really blessed. Super staff who made it go so smoothly. Brilliant.

Fantastic food in a wonderful environment. Initial service was a little slow (no menu to peruse) and the menu could be a little more extensive where mains are concerned, but everything else was perfect!

Have just returned home after a visit today to The Reverie for a family Sunday lunch. We were gifted some vouchers so wanted to see what our friends have been talking about here. What a wonderful experience! Very pleasant and professional welcome upon our arrival, quickly seated and drinks order taken (and delivered) quickly too. The stand out here (along with the friendly, attentive service) is the delightful food. Between us we had two extremely tasty, well cooked and with generous portions of roast beef and vegetables and my daughter (not a big fan of red meat) had the fish. We over ordered (based on experience elsewhere) extra sides but struggled (just achieved!) to do them justice as our meals were a good size, just right. We all agreed that the lunches were faultless, well prepared, well thought out and very tasty. One of the best Sunday lunches we have had out for sometime. No room for dessert. Maybe next time. Well done to the team at The Reverie. We'll look forward to our return visit.

Was invited to a birthday celebration lunch on Saturday 2 March. A pod had been booked, but the floor was soaking wet and the view was obscured by condensation. The sun came and went, and we were by turns roasted or shivering with cold. The service was appalling. The servers themselves were pleasant and trying to be helpful, but frankly the wait to be served initially and then the gaps between courses was shocking. The food was, shall we say, less than appealing - even the menu offered nothing tempting - slightly pretentious descriptions here and there. Only one starter at our table was good. The others were disgraceful - my ham hock terrine was minute. The beetroot salads were a rip-off with mainly a little pile of green leaves. Main courses - well! To be honest, the only decent one was the fish finger sandwich. The burger was pronounced the worst ever. The bream dish was VERY small. The chicken in parma ham was terribly dry. The steak in the sandwich was undercooked. I could go further. Why did we not complain at the time? Because it was a special celebration lunch and nobody wanted to spoil the occasion for the birthday girl. But we all came away extremely disappointed and determined not to return nor recommend the place to anyone else. Several left with damp or wet coats and jackets which had fallen to the floor. A horrible experience. I paid my way, but must say I found the prices extortionate for what was served, and would say it was the worst value.

I booked a dome for my daughter's 30th birthday lunch for 7 of us with high expectations. The dome cost extra to book and they do have the potential to be nice based on the location right next to the lake. Our dome had been used the night before for a different birthday party and, as a result, the floor covering was soaked and the inside of the dome was very wet with condensation so the view was somewhat diminished. The adjoining dome was empty the whole time we were there and looked dry so it was a shame we weren't put in that one. However, we arrived and waited ...... and waited ..... and waited some more for someone to come and see us to take some orders. My son had got there a little earlier and ordered some bubbly to start the celebrations but it was a long time coming once everyone else arrived. I'm sorry to say I found the menu a little uninspiring. A few of us decided on starters but, again, noone came to take our orders. We waited patiently for a good half hour before I had to get up to find someone and ask if we could order some food. Having managed to place the orders we had another long wait for the starters. When they eventually arrived they were, on the whole very disappointing. One of us had the ham hock terrine (nearly £10) - it was such a small portion we regretted not bringing a magnifying glass. However, not wanting to ruin the birthday vibe, we ignored this and ploughed on. After another long wait the plates were cleared away and then we had the next wait for our mains to arrive. Let's not forget that, by this time, those that didn't order a starter had been sitting at the table for about an hour and a half with no food! The mains were another huge disappointment. I ordered the sea bream which was a very small portion and looked a bit lost sitting on top of a few roast potatoes with some bits of chorizo and samphire. The fish was also overcooked. The person next to me had the chicken which was so dry it stuck in her throat, and, again, a very small portion. The birthday girl had the fishfinger sandwich which she enjoyed. Her partner had the steak ciabatta sandwich. The meat was very bloody (he'd never been asked how he'd like it cooked) but he was one of the people who hadn't had a starter and he was so hungry after the long wait that he couldn't bring himself to return it in case he was left eating on his own after everyone else had finished. Two of our party were vegans and had the roasted beetroot salad, which was basically a lot of green leaves with not much else (£15!!). No flavour at all. And, finally, my husband had the 7oz beefburger which he described as the worst burger he'd ever had - utterly tasteless and very dry - and he eats a lot of burgers so he could be considered an amateur expert. On the plus side, the onion rings and fries were good, although the fries had a lot of blemishes (black bits) on them. So, to summarise the food experience, it wasn't enjoyable. The prices aren't cheap and we most certainly wouldn't return. The staff (when they turned up) were pleasant but I'm afraid that, for the money we were charged, the whole experience was a big let down. I should add that the dome costs £29 to hire and I see on their website it's for 2 hours. With the slow service 2 hours doesn't cover it. If we'd felt inspired by the starters and mains to try out the desserts we'd have been there a lot longer than that. In the end we decided not to waste any more money on puddings in case they were as disappointing as the rest of the food so it was home for a delicious home made chocolate fudge cake. A hit! I really do feel The Reverie could do a lot better. It was a special birthday celebration but there were no little extras offered to make it that little bit nicer. I even took my own flowers for the table! The service was incredibly slow, the menu was uninspiring and the food was uninteresting and not well cooked. At the prices that are being charged, we would expect a lot more.

I’m being verypicky the breakfast is huge so maybe an in between options of the big fry up and small fry up (appreciate you could add to the small one) Great idea with the big dinning balls but does hinder the view - I’m being very picky - definitely going again

Taken for lunch with a local friend this has to win the award as face new venue that was least expected! Sat on the beautiful Bucklsnd lake Betwix Reigate and Dorking! Pre or post Mile or so around the magnificent lake on any crisp winters day or any day for that matter would be the perfect antidote to the madness of the World outside the confines of this hidden gem. Delightful decor and lunch service of tables with a lovely mix of folks enjoying the superb food and ambiance. The food at our table was a wonderful grilled aubergine with Korean spices served on a pepper and tomato stew with lovely green broccoli, a classy beautifully served steak sandwich drizzled with Chimichurri sauce ( excuse spelling) was sided with smashing crispy fries! The service and attention was a rare delight 200 percent both recommended and scheduled for a return Def a top discovery for a birthday or celebration again soon Well done all at the Rev

We had the choice of Chez Bruce or the Reverie and we chose the latter! But we had a nice Sunday lunch. The Roast Beef was excellent, the Yorkshire Pudding was ok, the roast potatoes so-so and the vegetables nice. Extra gravy, horseradish and mustard were all provided. My wife had the beef burger and chips which she said was ok and looked great with nice battered onion rings, the right bun and excellent chips Lovely Malbec by the glass We shared a cheese board for pudding which was excellent The service was professional but not that friendly

Went for a Christmas lunch with friends. The most awful stormy day outside but inside the restaurant the log burner on and the room beautifully decorated so felt warm and atmospheric. Our meal was excellent, couldn’t have cooked a better turkey meal myself and the vegan option looked tasty too. Service was great. Such a lovely lake side setting. Will definitely visit again.

ARRIVED AT 13.00 FOR A LUNCH PARTY OF 9. ORDERED DRINKS AND FOOD INCLUDING 3 CHILD MEALS, WITH 1 OF THE CHILD MEALS TO COME OUT WITH THE STARTERS. STARTERS TOOK 1 HOUR TO COME OUT. HAD TO ASK FOR THE CHILD MEAL, WHICH TOOK ANOTHER 15 MINUTES. AFTER STARTERS FINISH ANOTHER HOUR TO WAIT FOR THE MAIN COURSE. ALL THE MEALS CAME OUT IN DRIBS AND DRABS AFTER A 2 HOUR WAIT WE ARE TOLD THEY HAVE RUN OUT OF ONE OF THE CHILD MAIN COURSE MEALS BUT OFFERED THE REPLACEMENT FREE. 2 OF THE MAIN COURSES EITHER HAD ITEMS MISSING OR HAD ITEMS REQUESTED NOT TO BE INCLUDED. AFTER A FURTHER 20 MINUTES A STARTER CHOICE FOR THE MAIN MEAL HAD NOT ARRIVED AFTER ASKING NUMEROUS TIMES. MOST OF THE MAIN COUSES HAD BEEN EATEN AND STILL NO FOOD SO I CANCELLED THE ORDER AND THE KITCHEN AND STAFF SEEMED MOST SURPRISED. WE HAD 4 HOURS PARKING AND WE LEFT FINALLY AFTER 3 3/4 HOURS AFTER A VERY POOR DINNING EXPERIANCE. WHAT MADE IT FEEL WORSE WAS THAT DURING THIS MEAL NUMEROUS SMALLER PARTIES WERE SERVED ARRIVING AFTER US THE REVERIE AND AND THIS MADE US FEEL THAT THEY WERE DISINTERESTED WITH OUR CUSTOM. THREE FAMILIES THAT WILL NEVER GO TO THE REVERIE AGAIN AND THE IMPRESSION WE RECEIVED FROM MANAGEMENT WAS INDIFFERENT TO THEIR POOR SERVICE AND THE CLIENT EXPERIANCE THEY OFFERED.

This restaurant belongs to Buckland park lake so you have to know that it is there... none can just coincidentally find it. We had an amazing time here for a very long Easter Friday lunch. Our table booking for 9 had been mislaid and so we were given the pavilion free of charge! It was amazing- when we go again then we would book this anyway. There are also 3 pods you can eat in or the normal restaurant. We had a delicious lunch with the food arriving at the same time, which is always important. We had everything from Caesar salad, salt and pepper squid, beef cheek croquettes to mushroom and avocardo burger. Everything tasted delicious and we will be back again.
