The eating area was very pretty and suited a village pub. Very rustic and charming. The staff were polite, cheerful and attentative. Good was good pub grub, we had steaks as it was steak night, cooked as we requested and all the trimmings were
great. Lovely treacle pudding and custard to follow. All in all a wonderful experience. Will be going again.

Sadly we won't return and only visited this time because a family member assured us they'd upped their game. The restaurant offered very few cakes and we're uninspiring in their display. My husband picked up a tray and upon arriving at the till the waitress asked what he wanted. He asked for two scones and she simply said 'tray'. He was unsure what she meant so showed he had picked up a tray. She held her hands out across the counter to which he guessed she meant for him to hand it to her. She made no effort to stretch herself indicating he needed to lean further over towards her. She then rested the tray on the staff side and paid out scones and drinks, then handing it back to my husband. She was rude and unhelpful. It would make more sense to have the trays on the staff side of the counter! The tables in the restaurant were festooned with dirty cutlery and customers were clearing spaces to eat themselves. The chairs, conservatory style, could do with a deep clean. I guess as it's the only garden centre in the area they don't feel it necessary to try very hard. We won't go back.
Lovely bright doggie friendly cafe - really good value with a toasted sandwich /French fries or salad meal-deal and a hot drink for £7.50.
Great relaxed atmosphere and friendly service š
Popped in today to try the new āSpanish Latteā with my Spanish friend.
It was tasty (so is he!) but Iām not exactly sure how different it was to a regular latte.
Excellent service though as usual from the friendly staff.
After our last visit in November we were very upset to visit for our Sunday dinner lastweek as we were so excited for our visit.
The Ownership and Management has changed ( 100% ) for the worse.
We had the most delightful experience here before although they seemed short handed the service and the food ( and the cocktails by the mixology barman ) were faultless and served with a smile a really lovely team.
Sadly only seven months later all has changed ( For the worse ) we were met with very young seemingly inexperienced staff , ques out the door for the bar with no real managment in sight (The lady on the bar not even knowing how to make a G&T) staff arguing over a single till, cold sub par food with cold gravy and ( potatoes like bullets ) and a 45 minutes wait.
We were very disappointed to see how badly a place can go downhill in such a short span of time.
Let us hope the old owner buys it back or a more suitable company take's it over.
as we will not return anytime soon.
Very sad.
Sunday lunch was superb.
My vegan meal was the best Iāve had for ages (thanks to the chef for the choices) & my friend thought she was given āhalf a pigāā¦. So a very delicious and generous roast pork meal.
Staff were simply lovely.
Canāt wait to come back. Thank you.
Popular pub (with boat hire) next to the Ouse. Very prompt and efficient service. Children and dog friendly of course. Well situated for a riverside walk and plenty of parking.
The service was super and the food came really quickly, however the toppings on the pizzas were pretty scarce and the base is my gluten free pizza wasn't cooked properly. On the other hand the options for someone intolerant to gluten and dairy were pretty good, as was the blue light card discount. š„°š„°
Our dinners were cold and the potatoes were not rosted nor did they taste like garlic or herb just a bit salty. The meat was lovely but not very warm. I had no stuffing like advertised really not worth the money to be honest. On a positive note our waitress was very nice and apologised gave us free drinks and a free pudding. But a very underwhelming experience. The pub is lovely and so is the surroundings.
