Had a fabulous evening at Richies Cafe and Wine bar on 15 January. Excellent food, friendly atmosphere great service. Definitely coming here again.

In the weekend Richie serves Argentinian fillet steak with a lovely green peppercorn sauce, onion rings and brilliant chips. Our steaks were cooked just right: rare is proper rare - delicious. Service was good and pleasant, the atmosphere informal and welcoming. We also enjoyed the excellent coffee and ice cream. And as a bonus we had for a short while the full playful attention of Mabel, what a star she is! Richie, you've got it right in my opinion, don't move.

I don't know why there are so many haters in these reviews - we went to Richie's on a Saturday night (start of September) for dinner and were really impressed with the food, plus the team are genuinely friendly and helpful. We started with a tapas sharing platter (the calamari rings were super tender - a sure sign of good, fresh ingredients cooked well) and went on to Richie's surf and turf - South American fillet steak with chilli prawns, which was delicious. We live in Seaford and have eaten in various places in Seaford and surrounding area since things started opening up again, and all have been very disappointing - except for Richie's. It's not the biggest dinner menu going, but certainly (so far) the best food we've had in the past 18 months here. Rich himself was nice as. We'll be back.

Ordered a large cooked breakfast early afternoon after seeing all day breakfast sign outside. Small cooked breakfast arrived after twenty minutes. Two pieces of very overcooked bacon arrived. To crisp to eat. Brittle. Solid poached egg and tried to charge me for the larger breakfast at the bill. Rude cook thought I was lucky to have got two pieces of bacon instead of one and suggested that I didn’t have to eat it “Mate.” Back home in Bournemouth this morning a similar breakfast arrived in the local weatherspoons for half the price in six minutes flat with no surly backchat. Cheery customer service from both girls but don’t advertise on the billboard outside an all day breakfast that the cook seems to think doesn’t extend all day!

Food was okay (not amazing, but good in a pinch) However the owner was SO rude. We have never been to this cafe before and did not know that they charge for tap water. We politely questioned the bill, and when it was explained we went ahead and paid for it, didnt kick up a fuss at all and the waitress even said "i know its weird" poor love, not her fault and we werent complaining, we even left her a tip. Then the owner comes storming over "people like you just want something for free?!" he yells at us infront of my young kids! We spent £40 included food, drinks and coffees - how are we just trying to get something for free? Tap water is free everywhere - but we werent even complaining!! He just kept saying over and over "you dont like it you dont have to order it, its on the menu!!" My husband kept saying "no need to be rude, we've paid, we werent complaining' but the owner was clearly in a terrible mood. Very unprofessional! Yes, it is on the menu, but who checks the drinks menu for the price of tap water? I have never been charged tap water before. I wouldnt have left a review about it at all if he hadnt have come over and been so rude. Will not be going back or recommending it. The waitress was really lovely and i want to reiterrate it wasnt her fault.

I came for lunch at Riches cafe. Ordered a food & drinks and a glass of tap water. The bill included a £1 charge for tap water!! I find it unusual for a licensed premise to charge for tap water? Is this for using a glass?

Stumbled upon Richies looking for a place to get breakfast. Wasn't disappointed. Lovely and fresh with excellent service. Would love to try the lunch and evening menu next time.

Would highly recommend Richies, fabulous location, lovely wine, great atmosphere & wonderful staff! Epic sneakers too!! A must when visiting Seaford 👌🏼

This was probably one of my worst breakfast experiences. Only went here as no where else was open on a Sunday morning. There was just junk everywhere? Screws and a tool literally next to our table, random stuff all over the place just made it feel dirty and unloved. Such a great location it could be so good if it was more loved! The food was pretty dire. Beans in a GU pudding pot and clearly been in the microwave as it was absolutely boiling to touch the pot. Everything was very clearly cooked first thing then reheated in the microwave. Full English doesn't even include toast then they charge you £1.10 extra per slice! So basically £8.10 for a microwaved breakfast! Ordered a beans on toast, their menu says 2 slices so asked for this to be split onto two plates for my children, when it came there was only half a slice of toast on each plate. When I questioned it they got pretty defensive about it saying its what I asked for, when I pointed out their menu says 2 slices they seemed taken aback. Clearly didn't know their own menu. To top it off, there was a hair in my breakfast and the server really didn't have anything yo say about it other than question where it came from. Definitely won't go back.

Had enjoyable lunch in dog friendly cafe, the three of us had a mix of food all of which was very tasty.

Wanted to try something different and this nice little cafe was a pleasant surprise. Friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable place to relax, good menu. Good for snacks, breakfast, brunch, or something more substantial, at reasonable prices, and good sized portions. Will definitely be back for seconds!

on a wet and windy Monday searching for somewhere for breakfast at 8.00 am whilst car being serviced the lighthouse shone out (sorry). Friendly welcome, prompt service, and the early bird breakfast was filling and excellent value. Its also dog friendly, we will be back

Expensive for the size of the portion, fuddy duddy old seaford cafe disguised as a trendy place. Will not be going again

Lovely little cafe with excellent and attentive service. The chef made me the best waffle I have ever tasted! Lovely little menu of ‘Mushrooms 5 Ways on Toast’, delicious coffee and a gentle soothing vibe!

Waited ages at the counter for service in a virtually empty cafe. Asked for 2 take-away bacon rolls but only sandwiches available. Was asked white or brown bread, requested white. Asked for a large latte and a tea. No large. Then discovered tea bag had burst in my drink, was offered another but had waited so long i said not to bother. Lids on cups are very difficult to put on. Walked back to our vehicle to find we had been given brown bread. £12.50 for two (wrong) sandwiches and 2 small drinks. Literally could have had 2 full english breakfast cheaper elsewhere.

The Lighthouse has recently started opening on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening as a bistro style restaurant so we decided to give it a whirl on a chilly November evening. Our meal was delicious and beautifully cooked. We shared the chicken liver starter- nicely flavoured with madeira and coriander, a good start to our evening. We then each chose the Argentinian fillet and it was superb. Probably the best steak I have had in a very long time! A helping of warm almond tart finished our evening nicely. Service from Richie and his son Charlie was excellent and the decor is very attractive in a warm and cosy way. We'll definitely be returning. Thank you!

We had a great breakfast at the lighthouse. There is a huge range of choice and I loved the fact that there are so many vegetarian options. We were met with really friendly service and will definitely be returning soon. Thanks!

Went into the cafe this morning and had the most amazing breakfast. The food was extremely good quality and piping hot. Excellent service too, would highly recommend.

Ordered a lunch. Waited nearly 40 minutes. While waiting I observed the staff preparing food and also taking the money at the till between orders... yuk! Money is filthy and to think they were touching food without washing their hands ! As you can imagine I didn’t fancy the food when it arrived. Very expensive too and tiny portions served on really small plates more suited to children. Won’t be going back

Just went to The Lighthouse for breakfast. We ordered two breakfasts with tea and coffee. First up for £7 for a veggie breakfast it is quite expensive. Slice of toast is 50p extra and tea is also not included. Service was really slow and my partners food turned up long before mine. She didn't want to eat alone but had to as it was going cold. The idea is you go out to dine together. I am veggie - my veggie breakfast turned up with two slices of bacon. How someone would think a veggie would want bacon is beyond me. I sent it back. Could have had it cooked again so I could eat alone too but not what I came out for. So we get the bill and they charged me for the slice of toast. I ran a cafe and mix ups do occur so you do your best to limit the damage and do something on price or at least seem apologetic. This place is truly dreadful - avoid.

Visited with my partner for the first time today. Was told there would be a wait as it was fairly busy. We were happy to do so. We both had the chicken roast. Unfortunately I spotted a hair in mine soon after starting to eat. I didn’t make a fuss. I told the waitress very discreetly & she took the plate away without any apology. Then the chef came out & again rather than apologise he asked me who served me and then went on to say she was blonde and they couldn’t fathom where it came from. I was most uncomfortable with this. It felt like he was almost accusing me! They offered something else, which I refused. But again no apology. They took it off the bill and only when I went to pay did the lady taking my money apologise.. disappointed.. had they at least apologised profusely would have meant something. They should all be wearing hats or hairnets to avoid this in the future. My partner ate his. Very small portion sizes

We came across this lovely cafe today. The choice of food was good as were the prices. We had a breakfast and it was cooked perfectly. The food was at a really high standard. The cafe was clean and the staff were friendly.

We were in the cafe this week for morning coffee.Excellent coffee served properly by waitress with hot milk.Were not having lunch that day but noticed very appealing choices on the menu.Very polite service from staff. We love this little cafe/restaurant. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and delicious. A cosy relaxed atmosphere.

Called in to have a snack type lunch here the other day. What an improvement! It has been modernised and very colourful inside. Our lunch was freshly cooked-we shall be returning!!

Came in on my first evening in Torquay. Sat outside in the sun with a lovely view of the harbour. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Came again a few days later, the atmosphere outside and inside is very chilled and lovely music inside.

Since this place, previously known as the Pavilion, was taken over by the new owners it is much cleaner and brighter.

Meet my friends for lunch , we arrived 11.45 , to a almost empty place , were sat down , then ordered , waitresses didn’t know the flavours of the specials , then we waited , 50-55 mins for our mains , nothing special , 2 plates arrived but we had almost finished ours before my friends dimple eggs benedict arrived , we ordered desserts , but these took almost 30 mins , just crumble & ice cream , of which they only had ripple ??. The two other tables waited ages for their orders too.Expensive as well, & no receipt available.. don’t think we’ll return

I was in the cafe a few weeks ago , I don’t know what was going on in the Kitchen but there was a lot of screaming and shouting . Very off putting and I thought it was quite expensive for what you got . The girl that served me was very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful . But I don’t think I will going back .

We visited here on a busy bank holiday Monday, I disagree with previous comments about waiting, we ordered 4 meals , including BLT a tuna melt and a very good Welsh rarebit, all bought to the table in a timely fashion, Timed by a hungry 2 year old who didn’t kick off due to the wait , so it must of been quick !

Nicely decorated and attractive cafe. Breakfast on a Sunday morning is a nice treat. The Lighthouse did not let us down. Good freshly cooked, piping hot breakfast. Nice fresh "leaf" tea, meant to ask what it was as the flavor was so good - will have to go back now to find out. Owners are very nice and accommodating Our first venture into The Lighthouse and based on Sundays experience will not be our last.

We used to be regulars here and knew it was changing hands. The new owners have put bright new artwork on the walls, splashed some brightly coloured paint on the furniture and made some changes to the menu.

After a 200 mile drive to Seaford from the West Midlands, we needed breakfast and coffee (not necessarily in that order). With the Salts carpark just around the corner it was an easy choice of venue.
