The Ship is under new management and are really transforming the place. Vicki and Jay were so welcoming and the food that their chef Joe made was absolutely incredible! Excited to see this pub go from strength to strength!

All the unheathiest people in Newhaven congregating at the entrance smoking and spitting. If you aren't hoping to meet someone that you already gave chlamidia to don't bother

The ship hosted a great Newhaven open call exhibition in the upstairs function rooms. It made a great space and the pub was very welcoming.

Stopped here for a last minute roast dinner on a Sunday. Walking in we didn’t expect much as it is a dated pub, the type where you’ll only found a couple of locals in it! However staff were friendly and the roast was tasty.

Hit and miss, never the same 2 weeks running. Not bad for the price, if you don’t fancy cooking and washing up. You may get hot thick gravy, or it may be like water. You may get rock hard carrots. You may get stuffing one week but not the next. You may get 6 spuds one week and 4 the next. Light bulb issue in the loo ! Take a torch if you need a wee !

The ship is my local pub, I go most Thursdays for Karaoke. Nice staff and very cheap drinks and food. would recommend to anyone 18+ or families dining out. a wide choice of foods and drinks.

We booked a table for 7 people for dinner. Upon arrival we were greeted by Laurel who took our drinks order. Drinks arrived quickly and then she took our starters and main order. Niamh serves us our food and was attentive and got us more drinks when asked. Once we had finished we asked for the bill and were told we had been picked for ‘burn the bill’ and we had £100 off our bill, paid for by the pub. This was very kind and we will definitely be returning on a Monday for it.

Lovely friendly pub with restaurant and rooms. We had Bluebell room, nice big bed with tea, coffee, fridge for milk and water. Big shower bathroom (water pressure amazing!). View over pub garden to fields, has a little terrace to sit out. Good breakfast and evening meals. Would definitely stay again.

A little cold and empty but I know it's a great little pub when busy.
