The best restaurants serving Default food in Chantry Horsham South East

What a great find today, (the sign at St Josephs works!) just annoyed I didn't know about it before - Definitely make sure Gerston Farm is on my walk/cycle route next time I'm in Storrington. All the best guys

This is a regular for myself & a friend on our dog walks good coffee, food & doggie sausage. Can sit inside if wet but out side is beautiful right at the base of the downs. Can’t wait for it to open this year. Not long now

I had always wanted to stay in a castle and since Amberley still had walls going back around 900 years I thought this would be great start. My friend stayed in the main area inside the tudor period and I stayed in a room adjacent to front entrance. We both thought it was amazing and really enjoyed our stay, from Amberley we could drive to tourist areas close by. The walks around the castle were enjoyable, the food was top notch and we strongly recommend Amerley Castle to anyone.

This was our first visit to the Old Forge but will not be the last. We went for Valentines Day and it is the first time that we have been to a Valentine's meal were there was no increase in price for the special menu. The area we were in had only 4 tables and all those present thought their food was fantastic. There is a relatively small number of choices for each course but the quality is 5 star. The venison and mushroom bon bon starter was one of the best starters I have had anywhere. Only surpassed by the rice pudding with rhubarb and ginger compote and rose petal granola. If the other courses had not also been great I would have ordered two of the dessert. The staff were all fantastic and very helpful. I cannot recommend this enough. Patrick's menu is novel, exciting and beautifully cooked

Went here for the first time to have a late lunch, coffee was lovely and so was the service - but ! The bread for the club sandwich and the eggs Benedict was very plain white and dry, for the price I was expecting a nice granary or sourdough for the club sandwich and a light fluffy muffin for the eggs Benedict. I think for a place that has special cakes if serving other food should put the same effort into the bread itself served on.

I took my 14 year old daughter here for her first tasting menu experience and it was fantastic. The team are exceptional, attentive without being overbearing, friendly and amusing, passionate about food but not in any way pretentious. They made my daughter feel at ease and clearly adapted their script for each course for her benefit. The food is really great. The hors doeuvres and the sweets at the end were both a delightful and delicious surprise. I am coeliac so need gluten free versions and the chefs adapted the menu without any perceived bother which is reassuring as most of us don't really like making a fuss or having a fuss made of us! Most of the beers are Gun Brewery ones which are also gluten free. The setting is awesome. Oak beamed ceilings highlighting the origins of the building along with a premium, modern decorative finish. I would thoroughly recommend Chalk to anyone for a treat of an evening out, particularly if you're gluten free.

Gorgeous pizza, gorgeous interior, gorgeous view! The white wine was particularly delicious plus a great selection of 0% beers - the staff were lovely also 😁 an absolute gem, will definitely be back regularly

Soup good. Soup was very good. Enjoyed the soup. Nice soup. When I was eating the soup I was thinking mmmmmmmmmmmmmm this is good soup.

really pleased with my experience, came here for lunch and the food was incredible!! i had the riverside burger and it was cooked to perfection. the menu has a wide range of meals and is also inclusive to vegan/gluten free diets. the staff are professional, super friendly and welcoming and the location is beautiful. i would highly recommend coming here with friends and family. you can rent boats and bikes, enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and cakes along with a delicious coffee, tea, beer on tap or a nice cold glass of wine! what more could you want🤩

Lovely food ok restaurant but the prices!! The wine list is extortionate no wonder the waitress asked, more than once, if we wanted another bottle!! Perhaps introducing a house wine would be a good idea. 12 1/2% service charge so it’s a no from me

I live in Japan now, so when I’m in England I love to visit a proper country pub, and The Sportsman Inn delivered in spades. The view over the downs was beautiful, the pub itself felt cozy and genuine, and the staff were warm and friendly. I had an absolutely terrific time with a good days walk followed up by an amazing meal and then a lovely room to stay the night. I was moved to hear that this pub is fighting for its survival and is community run. It’s nice to know that the beer I drank was supporting a good cause!

I booked a table well in advance, informing that one of us was vegan and another was gluten free. I was told that was all fine and they had those options. The gf toasted sandwiches and cake were delicious. There were 2 gf cake choices. However, I was disappointed that they don't offer gf scones and there were no vegan cakes or scones at all so the vegan guest went without. If I'd been given this information when I booked, we would have gone elsewhere. I questioned this but there was no apology attempt at ab explanation, just a disinterested shrug and the comment that gf scones tend to be hard and not very nice. As some other reviewers have said, the atmosphere wasn't very welcoming. I won't be going there again.
