I had home made quiche which was very nice and a can of diet coke (no glass). Came to £15.30. Not unfriendly as such but not warm and welcoming either. There are only big tables as you go in and I thought I was going to need to share a table. Wasnt sure whether to find a seat and order or if order at the counter. Anyway i ordered at the counter and then saw little seating area out the back so went there. They did ask if i was ok with dressing on my salad which was good too. Tho even better would be to serve in a little pot so people can decide how much they’d like. Noone took my plate for ages so got up to go and order a piece of cake ( all looked lovely!) but as I got to the till the lady started totting it up on the till so I didn’t bother. Yes i could have said but it just felt off so i went off the idea of having a piece of cake there! I go to alot of tea rooms on my travels with work and this was - sad to say - the least friendly. But food was very nice.

When we entered we did not know the protocol was to find a table, read the table number and then go to order! So I picked up a menu from the table nearest the ordering point and ordered. We were asked where we would be sitting. All fine so far but when I went to hand the menu you to a waitress who was next to me and appeared to be doing nothing I was told abruptly that it goes where I got it from!! I then had to return it myself. it felt like being back in school!! The food was excellent but not sure I want to be spoken to like that again

Took my elderly aunt here recently for a sandwich & cup of tea, both of which were ok, what wasn’t ok was the noise created by the lady who worked there bashing & crashing the plates & cups etc! We just couldn’t hear ourselves talking, I don’t no if this is normal because it’s an open planned kitchen preparation area or she was in a bad mood but it felt like she was slamming everything about & im surprised they have any crockery left!

Whilst staying in Storrington we were keen to try out the local cafes and coffee. Coming from Australia where is almost impossible to find a bad coffee, we were keen to see if we could find a decent coffee … vintage tea rooms comes the closest to a good Aussie coffee. Just one question… why can’t to buy a large flat white in England?

I have been to the Vintage Rose Tea House on a few occasions and have found the food a reasonable price and good quality, especially the sandwiches. I was just tucking into my delicious chocolate cake from Vintage Rose and thought I would like to drop them a line to tell them how good the cake and sandwich were when I went online and saw some pretty average reviews on TA. just to balance that, my business partner and I stopped into the little shop this morning, met 3 lovely ladies with smiles and jokes, ordered drinks, cakes and sandwiches (£24) which seemed reasonable and then left with our take-aways. the coffee was lovely, the sandwiches toasted and delicious (we had a mix of avocado salmon etc) and the cakes are currently being devoured. is it pricey - I have no idea. seems bloody good value to me. the food is excellent and so was the service. i hope locals and those travelling through keep this business going with their custom

The scones are also as light as a feather. I just can't find anything to criticise. Dying to come back for a breakfast next time. I released what it was and took it back to the counter. They had placed a part baked roll in the microwave, so it was doughy, sticky and boiling hot. Such rolls are meant to be baked in the oven, so they are crusty and baked fully. This was agreed and I was offered 2 slices of brown bread to replace. Not impressed.

Vintage Rose sits on a busy junction, but once inside, things like traffic issues disappear. Attractively laid out, with a gracefully furnished upstairs room for additional seating, the whole place is immaculately kept and gleaming. The counter groans with drool worthy cakes and packed blackboards offer a bewildering array of interesting sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes, wraps and quiche. I opted for crayfish tails, avocado and basil mayo on a gluten free roll. It came with homemade coleslaw and was delicious. I’d find it hard not to have it again on a future visit. The pot of tea was tea as it used to be, refreshing and full of flavour. All the baking here is done on the premises and whoever does it is at the top of their game. My gluten free roll redefined gluten free. Our light lunch here was a lovely experience, with that essential element of escapism necessary in a teashop. Vintage Rose has that – in spades.

Lovely little tea room, fresh home made cakes suiting all different dietary needs which is rare! The main things I felt let this place down were no toilets on the ground floor (and given the stairs are a steep spiral elderly and disabled people could not use the toilet and would be forced to go elsewhere), and no menus, you have to make your selection from the board, which if you are sat in the back of the café means you have to go and stand in the front area next to the till. I had a toasted sandwich, with my fellow diners having a jacket potato and sandwiches, however I was a little disappointed that mine didn't come with the side salad and home made coleslaw which theirs did as it looked delicious.

I had noticed these tea rooms on my way through to Pulborough and the premises looked like it would be worth dropping in. I went with a friend today, 7th April, and we parked around the corner in the Waitrose car park. Luckily we were on motorcycles so parking was easy. The premises looked crowded but we went in and were told there was additional seating upstairs. The instructions to choose and order before we sat down were barked at us by the owner/manager. I chose a salad and was told that I could have any thing that was on the sandwich menu in the salad. I chose chicken and a pot of tea for one. My friend ordered a cheese scone and a coffee, she was offered hot milk to go in it. WE went upstairs and sat down, the drinks arrived quite quickly and I was pleased to see it was real leaf tea. Shortly after the meals arrived, my friend said her scone was okay, however I was surprised to see that the salad was more like a side salad not a main course. I was underwhelmed. The quality of the food was okay, but the price at £7:95 for a few leaves and a chopped up chicken breast fillet was to be haones a rip off. This is definitely off our go again and recommend list. When we left we pooped our head around to the new Costa and discovered a very nice little bakers that offers good value eating including an all day breakfast for £6:95. That will be the one we visit the next time we go to Storrington. The service was not the best, in fact a waitress managed to drop most of a tray of tea on the customers sitting behind us. Luckily it was only milk that went over them and not the scalding tea

A very pleasant cup of tea and the cakes are ok too. But the whole cafe needs a jolly good clean. Also the damp spores cannot be good for the environment that you are sitting in

I cannot begin to tell you how poor our turkey christmas meal was today. The meal was luke warm. Turkey had no flavour; roast potatoes had been previously cooked and not reheated properly; vegetables were nothing to shout home about and service was very laid back to say the least. What was meant to be a most enjoyable family meal quite honestly was a huge disappointment. I would not return to this site again even if someone paid me.

Driven passed this pub at least 30 times on way to Gatwick over the years but never stopped. Visited on Thursday 26th September at 1:30pm. Reasonable sized car park with lots of spaces. Pub has oak beams which gives it a real traditional vibe. Didn’t book a table but was able to be seated straight away. Good choice on the menu. We had ciabatta baguettes (one halumi one sausage/onion) washed down with a Prosecco and a beer. Service good and baguettes only £9 each. View out the back of the pub over the South Downs is stunning! Worth knowing that last food orders are 2pm for lunch. Would definitely return.

Free entry to explore the marvellous gardens at Leonardslee when booking the Ultimate experience. A thorough wine tasting, brilliantly conducted by 'Simba', a true credit to his profession as a sommelier. Fabulous wines and that Sabre moment when the cork is 'popped', my friend did this with such distinction. An excellent, delicious Afternoon Tea followed, nothing waste much of a problem, photo opportunity, carrot cake a welcome extra but 'Simba' created the icing on the cake. Fantastic experience.

Every time I order the quality is always consistent. Particularly recommend the cookie doughs. Why go to a sloppy chain when you can support a fantastic independent!

Incredible menu of unusual combinations - hard to choose. Our food was delicious. Portions were enormous. Excellent service.
