We was recommended this pub to take our brothers wake here after his funeral. When we booked here the lady that booked us in seemed really nice until the day that we went into the restaurant. We was greeted by a different lady. Who had the ump.the whole time we was there. When serving not once did she smile and seem to be rude when serving. The food was nice but the service was atrocious from the bar lady. This really upset me as it was my brother's wake and I have many people coming up to me saying about how rude she was. So I wouldn't recommend this place as awake they like to take your money and I should imagine they took a bit on that day but the service was terrible.

We’ve dined here several times but this time we were very disappointed. We ordered the special “ sizzling fajitas” but there was no sizzling and indeed the chicken was cold . There were three bits of pepper and one slice of onion in the mix . The wraps were also cold and the cheese was tasteless and to top the evening off there were about 10 children running riot throughout the dining area - in and out of the garden constantly- making for a chilly draft. The foursome on the table next to us were barged into so many times by the children coming in and out that they upped and left and moved to a different part of the pub . So all in all it was disappointing and we won’t be returning in a hurry

I had been craving Chinese food for a while but had trouble finding a good local spot. After a recommendation from my hairdresser, we decided to try Mayflower. We ordered one of their set menus for three people, though it was just the two of us :) The variety was great, with egg fried rice, chicken balls, noodles, prawns, and sautéed veggies . The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were huge—definitely good value for money! The only thing we would say wasn’t the best was the sweet & sour sauce served with the chicken balls , it lacked taste. My partner went to pick up the order, and the collection service was excellent. The food was ready in just 15 minutes, so it was still piping hot and really enjoyable when we got home. We’ll definitely be back for more! Just a heads-up—make sure to bring cash when you go.

Our large family wanted somewhere for Sunday lunch. The publican accommodated us at short notice. We were made very welcome. The Sunday roast was very generous size portions. We had a wonderful dinner and would definitely come back. The pub is very clean and friendly and on our doorstep.

New address in Queen Street! (same telephone number) Slightly improved premises with a little more seating than in Milton Road. We enjoyed a good selection of starters - all very tasty. The dosas were a little under done but ok. The service was friendly but as the place was almost full they were struggling to keep up. Despite this the quality of the food makes it wort visiting. Don't expect table cloths and napkins etc. Inexpensive so good value. Not the sort of "standard" Indian / Bangladeshi restaurant food. Great for vegetarians.

First time visiting here barman very friendly and helpful we was the only ones in there which was a shame. Needed to go to the the bathroom went in and it was disgusting poo all around the pan no toilet roll u could even flush the chain as it was broken hopefully if we go back it will be sorted .

When I moved to the area that I live in, I was trying to get a Kebab and no one would deliver, I called all the ones within a few miles radius, Big Portion did, and have used them ever since for the last 2 years! Food is generally great and service always good!

Bought two large cod and one large portion of chips. Nice fish, cooked fresh, but batter somewhat undercooked. Chips far too large (enough for four or more) and not very hot. Note - It is now McCoy's Fish Bar and not Humphrey's.

Friendly local, alas with disappointing range of beers. All lagers and just Guinness (or Inchs cider) which thankfully was very nice. No visible sign of food on offer on a Friday evening. Good to pop in for a quick pint.
