The best restaurants serving Default food in Liverpool North West

Looks can be deceiving as it doesn’t look as good as the food tastes and I would was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere and interaction with the family run chippy.

I have visited the Starbucks in the Sydney Jones Library on many occasions. I have always found it to be pretty good. The staff are absolutely fantastic here - always very friendly and queueing never takes too long, so full marks to the whole team! Considering this is a University franchise of Starbucks, the selection of drinks is pretty extensive and very reasonably priced, for example a small tea is £1.60, which is pretty cheap. The selection of snacks isn't quite so good, but I think what is offered is perfectly sufficient. In my experience, this place is clean and tidy and is a nice place to set your laptop up and study, albeit please note that on some days, it shuts at 3pm, which I think is unnecessarily early. However, one thing which puzzled me is why they are continuing to social distance tables. Well after the 1m rule was axed on 19th July, this place has had less tables than normally, all a million miles away from each other which I thought was very strange, considering this place's surface area is small anyway. In my opinion, they're really shooting themselves in the foot by doing this as you are actively deterring custom! Having said that, I have a feeling that this is a University management decision, not a decision taken by the staff here. Also, this place does not accept cash whatsoever, in some weird bid to make the University campus 'cashless' and 'safer'. In terms of how disallowing people to pay cash in a coffee shop makes campus a 'safer place', your guess is as good as mine! Overall, it's a pretty decent coffee shop. I like to think that they've axed their ludicrous distancing measures by now, but if they haven't, note that you may struggle to find an empty table!

AVOID THIS PLACE! This is by far one of the worst Chinese we have ever had! Chicken chow mein was majorly overcooked and black. Rice was also really brown and overcooked. Salt and pepper chips were rock solid and not edible! Ended up throwing it all away and getting food from elsewhere!!!

Ordered on just eat, we had 2 large kebabs, with chips, burger, chicken strips and bottle of pop, we got given a free garlic bread pizza and free delivery. Came within 25 mins. Food was hot, kebab was delicious, chips great, burger was lovely, chicken was tasty and garlic bread was amazing. It was on £27 which is amazing value, could feed four with that. Highly recommend of you like your kebabs

We were seated in the upstairs private room which lacks the atmosphere and buzz of the main ground floor dining area. Ordered our starter and mains and from the “something to nibble” section of the menu the breadboard with olives. It was disappointing to receive the breadboard at the same time as the starters. When I mentioned this at the end of the meal I was told we should have asked if we wanted it before the starter! The starters were okay. Mussels marinara was nice with a good tomato sauce but could have had more flavour. The scallops were served with black pudding but on a huge bed of salt which was a surprise. I ordered the lemon sole from the specials menu. It arrived and had no veg or anything. Apparently I should have ordered sides but to not be promoted by the waitress taking the order is disappointing. Having known I was paying over £22 for a bland piece of fish in a fairly bland sauce and without sides I may have chosen something else. My wife ordered the halibut which was served in a mushroom sauce that was far too strong for the fish. We were very disappointed with the meal but the wine was lovely and we appreciated the gesture of taking the wine off our bill.

Amazing food warm friendly staff. We eat here regularly and will continue too. Food is so tasty and reasonable price drinks

It was a nice experience, the staff were pleasant and efficient, especially Olivia who is always attentive. Also, the food was served in a timely fashion.

I just ordered Indian style pizza , with chicken , but I got veg pizza , no chicken in it, and the bread was not cooked well , and they waited me for 1 hour , experience was not good not satisfied for it

Drive through - could not understand employee when ordering at all. Food - came out so fast we knew it was going to be cold…it was just that. Carpark - birds just waiting to eat food around entire area.

We’ve been here on 4 occasions and last night chose to bring friends who were in town. The table wasn’t ready and we were told to wait by the already crowded bar, eventually were seated. Had the focaccia to start which was very dry, followed by one of the chicken dishes. Service was slow, we asked three times for the bill, it then took another 20 minutes for someone to come over with a card reader. Everyone was sat very close, it felt like extra tables have been rammed in, it’s a shame, it used to be much nicer.

The wrap i ordered had salad in it which i hated asked them to replace it with one without salad, took ages then gave the same thing with salad!

Best place to watch sports with beer

Not quick. The place was dead - dozen people max, service (after paying) was unbelievably slow. I know it’s done fresh but they should warn you there’s a restaurant-length wait ahead of you ordering.

Cancelled our order after 45 minutes. Ordered well before closing time yet they waiting till after they closed to press cancel!
