Pretty watery and all the currys tasted the same

Quite honestly the most authentic Indian food I’ve had in Liverpool. Food tasted absolutely fantastic!!

Awful service, extremely rude. Rang 3 times and every time said it was five minutes away when clearly wasn't. Took 2 and a half hours to deliver our takeaway. Arrived cold and was missing items, will certainly not be going back to Masterchef

Not very good curry tasted more like a stew than a curry!!

The restaurant added 25 mins to delivery time which was fine when food arrived it it was all very bland. All tasted the same. No spice and tasteless. Very disappointed

Sorry I ordered. the food used to be amazing from here but unfortunately things have changed. very poor quality food tonight and most of it was cold as it was delivered late.

The chicken tikka starter and the boiled rice were faultless. The mixed tikka wrap had salad in it when i requested it not to. And the curry was relatively oily meaning i had to drain it before consumption. Overall it was good and i would return but i would call to make sure my order is acceptable before i recieve it.

the worst lamb balti ever. I’ve used to order from this place, but yesterday the curry was like water and doesn’t taste anything like it used to be. it went straight into bin .

Far too salty. Both me and my friend had agreed to share our mains but after trying the dishes they were shared with a binbag instead. Poppadoms were delivered in a plastic bag. Arrived very quick. Alarmingly quick to suggest a microwave may have been at work. High stars for the restaurant as this place was reccommended to me by a friend who had visited in person but I ordered on-line and had a bad experience with the food that arrived.

In the 90s-2000s the food was great since then downhill, tasteless and non atmospheric. I don’t like slagging a place off but time & time we try this place in the hope it will be fine but NO. Curried tasteless, staff are like cardboard cut outs and atmosphere is a joke. We as group of friends used to go on a weekend but from now no more. Greasy, xtra hot & flavourless curries. The sundries are ok. Give it a miss and go somewhere else. Improve or go down further as u have.

Mi pareja y yo visitamos el Chef última noche después de unas copas en Liverpool. A sabiendas entramos en mitad 10 cuando había sólo dos mesas de este debería haber sido el sonar campanas de alarma! Pedimos nuestra comida y esperamos alrededor de 20 minutos para popadoms. Media hora más tarde, el curry, pero ay que llegamos era pésima. No podíamos permitirnos comer más que respirar y nos fuimos inmediatamente. No intente aquí a menos que no te importa, curries procesados sin sabor.

the food was fine but the hot spiciness should have been forewarned on the starters. We chose a set meal for two at £31.99 including coffee. There was also a problem of them not serving alcohol,surely this should be addressed as the service industry should be focused on the end user and not the supplier,also the atmosphere music and lighting was abysmal and when one of the staff picks up a serviette and shoves it down his right ear hole and then inspects it for harvest was very off putting.Don't think i'll go here again,maybe in 12 months and see if they have changed their approach.

Visited with a large group recently, well looked after throughout. Very tasty food for everyone, though we were kept waiting for quite some time - although we were a large group, so I can somewhat understand, it makes me wonder if there would there be similar waits if someone had a smaller table and the restaurant was just busy? Overall though, a good experience. Baby seating available, BYOB very good as well.

Hemos estado aquí antes y me encantó la comida, así que decidimos ir de nuevo y no nos decepcionó. No dejes que el exterior te desanime ya se han gastado dinero en modernizar el interior y estaba impecable. La comida, como lo ha sido siempre era preciosa y el hecho de traer sus propias bebidas con botellas no hace tal relación calidad-precio. Estoy en una pérdida en las críticas negativas me parece que tienen dos diferentes cocineros aquí había cuatro de nosotros que, mezclados, Cordero Biriyani, Pollo Balti Naharyi y Tikka Masala fabuloso. Comparado con las especias en el salón Albert Dock (ver mi comentario anterior) este se merece 6 estrellas

The curry was so watery cannot be classed as an Indian curry.... Rice was brown rice not pilau like i ordered and the vegetable samosa had meat in it great for a vegetarian.. Not!!! Rang to complain they said they would send another order out but nothing never arrived!!! Terrible food and terrible service ended up with no tea! Great end to the weekend

Not very impressed on the order. Didn't bring the correct order as they missed off a portion of chips. Curry was satisfactory. Not very impressed with the keema naan or the samosa. Wouldn't order from here again.

This is by far the best Indian food I ever had. I eat in restaurants nearly every day and to my surprise I left it very late to try this restaurant for the reason that the name Master Chef has put me off cos most restaurants that prases themselves to be the best are the ones I am weary of. I tried this place few times now and honestly every time it was perfect. The flavours are well balanced and not too oily. It's just cooked the way professionals do. Perfect in every sense. You got to trust me on this one and you will be blown away.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. used to be a great restaurant with fabulous staff. Now rude and poor quality. Food was late, over 90 minutes in total and I don't live that far. Ever single starter was cold. Then the mains also but they could be microwaved. Quality was shocking Rogan josh bland and tasteless. Complained over the phone after not being able to get through for a long time.. finally they agreed to give us 50% refund. I said shall I bring the left over food in when I collect the food? The man said no it's fine. I arrived for my refund - the staff acted like they didn't have a clue about it then asked me where the food is? I said it's in the bin and they requested I go home and bring it back! At this point I called just eat to complain, the man went away to serve customers then half way through the call he give me the £15 refund as originally agreed on the phone. I have never experienced customer service like it. Me and my family will not be returning here.

They forgot the naan bread when they delivered.

I admit to being biased here. I have been going to this place for over 10 years. It's upgraded its tables and decor and is a little bit more upmarket now. However, the food is excellent, the service is polite and efficient and best of all it's a BYO. Bring your own booze with no corkage. Top top top.Went there with my brothers and sisters for my birthday. Having been there before we only had their excellent papadoms a s starters as the mains are on the large size. Yet again the food was top quality and quantity. My brothers favourite was the tandoori lamb chops, my sisters went for a bariani each while I went for a lamb jalfrazi. That with the rice and a few died dis he's was just over 50 quid. A bargain.I don't live in Liverpool any more but on return head for this place. I know there are smarter and hippie br places in Bold Street, but, to me this is old school curry house with excellent food.

Ordered and received a call from the driver who was lost. 35 min later i got my food and as expected, it was cold. I called the restaurant to tell them that it was a risk they needed to mitigate against. I gave that opportunity to them. The driver was NOT at fault - indeed he was extremely friendly.

M y husband & I try to go there at least once a month. The food is lovely (main thing) the place is spotless (loos basic but v clean) the service is very good but not over attentive. If you are on a budget or just want a nice supper when you don't sweat when you get the bill you are laughing as they do not charge a penny for bringing whatever booze you wish to . We nipped into Liverpool yesterday for or supper had two drinks in the Roscoe Head (boss little pub) ate in Master Chef then got the train home HAPPY CHOPS again. xx

Biriani was horrible, microwave rice with boiled, bland chicken which had an odd pink tinge to it! Vegetable curry was like cats sick, puréed yellow stuff with no taste. Tikka paneer was WET and tasteless!Lamb saag looked like dark diarrhoea, and was disgusting! The Roti tasted like sandpaper!After a taste, me and my mum looked at eachother and said it was the worst food, let alone Indian takeaway, we have ever tasted! Avoid, it wasn't worth it!!

Not sure if we got a botch job due to how late at night we ordered but still, did not expect to taste Heinz Tomato Soup as the base of my Mahkani. Couldn't finish.

We came here on Mother's Day 26th March 2017.About 12 of us plus some children. The service was incredibly slow as were the starters then the main meals took a very long time to come. The table had been booked in advance but only one person was in the kitchen until one of our group spoke to the staff to ask why we're things so slow! Some more staff came along so things got a bit better.No this is not a place I would willingly come back to.Remora in South Hunter Street blows this place away in every respect.

If you want the finest Tandoori food this is the place to go. Get your beer before you go, as the place isn't licensed, but they provide glasses for you. The value here is excellent and the food is served in a speedy fashion by friendly, helpful staff.

Pleasantly surprised by the modern decor. Good variety of authentic dishes to choose from, including balti to share.

I normally bought over Just eat.com however i went into the restaurant today for a change. The customer service is amazing. They treat you like special guests and you dont see that much often these days. Really friendly restaurant!

When they came with the delivery there were no poppadum's and dips i phoned them and they came back 10 minutes later with the poppadums but still no dips....wasn't very happy

The chicken curry was horrible. It was a tin of tomato soup with chicken in it.

Disappointing meal. Food was about 40 minutes later than was originally stated. Very stodgy and greasy food although there was a lot of it. Delivery driver asked for payment again although we had already paid online. Definitely wouldn't order again.

One of my favourite places to eat curry in Liverpool - food is always good and service is spot on. Great you can take your own booze too. I would recommend the spicy fish tikka - very good!

The food itself was lovely and the delivery driver was over half an hour early (which was a godsend as I was starving!!)he was well dressed (wearing a suit) and well mannered!! The only 'problem' if you want to call it that, was that for £5 odd for a chicken korma I thought rice may have come with the korma itself which is why I'm glad I ordered a portion of 'egg fried rice' just incase as it doesn't state whether rice is included in the price or not, only my 'egg fried rice' was infact 'egg boiled rice' which to be honest I wasn't too fussed as I like boiled and fried rice however if like my parter you can't stand boiled rice then your pretty gutted really😬 So my advice to anyone reading this is yes, order from here as the food is really nice and good quality however when ordering a curry or korma type dish, if you want rice make sure you order a separate portion of rice otherwise you won't get any👌🏻

Not what I would expect from an Indian restaurant food was average would not eat there again.Staff were ok but not very welcoming.

Despite ordering a mild dish, it was ridiculously spicy. My boyfriend said all of his dishes tastes exactly the same. We rang to send the passanda back and they did return another but it tasted exactly the same. I then called and asked to speak to someone about our disssatiafaction with the food and was assured the manager would ring back but no one did. We didn't eat any of the food and basically lost £30 for nothing. Really disgusting meal and service.

Driver was 25 mins late. Wouldn't even come to the door. Called me from their car and made me walk up the road and collect from car. very bad service. driver was just sat in the car on facebook.

Curry sauce tasted like 3 day old dishwater. Lamb chops were tough and covered in marinade "goo", chicken tikka was tasteless and a bit naff. Keema naan was dry with not much keema, master chef ? very disappointed in this meal and won't be ordering again from there.

Very greasy food, not to my taste, a little dissapointed

Staying in the block apartments after the lfc match in albert dock and ordered from this takeaway. Ordered online and was accepted at 11.10pm called to confirm and guy said delivery be about 1:10hrs. Called after 40 minutes to see where it was he says its on the way. Delivery driver must have got lost cause he still hasnt arrived.

I have been coming to this place or getting take away for at least 18 years. The quality of food has always been superb. I love their rice, and chicken Karahi and staff are superb. I don't know many better Cuisine in Liverpool. and it is reasonable price.

very disappointed with my meal they delayed my delivery by 30 minutes and I mentioned no onion chutney yet they brought it again!!! but didnt bring me any yoghurt mint suce or the spicy sauce! few popadoms were clearly too oily others felt like from yesterday My usual king prawn dish was not like other times! it was more like few prawns in passata sauce most of it went bin! if I could get refund I would never ordering again

Poppadoms were alright but the rice and curry looked and tasted unpleasant to say the least. Ended up just eating the poppadoms.

Always order from here only thing was chicken seekh roll was like rubber but not usually the minced seekh rolls are gorgeous from here

Been visiting the master chef now, with both my immediate and extended family, for more years than I care to remember. And the food and particularly the fantastic warm welcome from Muddy his dad and and the rest of their lovely staff just gets better and better (if that's possible!).Couldn't recommend the place highly enough, give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

The guy who delivered told me he had no change. So when it came to 22 pound, I had 25 expecting change. He almost pleaded with me to let him off. Obviously he wanted a tip, very unprofessional.

Love ordering from you guys but I mention no onions at all times and you never read it :( I got full huge onions in prawn chilli dish I thought you might have taken them out so did not enjoy it this time plus I always mention no onion chutney but still get it all the time Hope my comments will be considered more seriously next time Thank you

Not the best takeaway we've tried...

Waited 2 hours for our curry. When it finally showed up it was the wrong order, cold and tasted stale. Won't be ordering from here again - really disappointed.

Wow!! Seen some reviews it is horrible and blah blah I tried it anyway and wow lamb korma chilli naan and cheese naan and pilau rice and chips wow it was so nice I would 1000% recommend this and will be ordering again

Bland food with lack of spice and flavour. Food is much better when eating in. Won't be going again only good thing is free delivery

Sadly the food quality was awful. The mushroom pilau was bland and they used tinned mushrooms, which is shocking! The makhani was really bad - tasted like tinned tomato soup with a bit of cream/yoghurt added! The badami wasn't too great either. The madras and pepsila were at best below average, they were at least edible compared to the other two meals and mushroom pilau. Delivery was fast for a Saturday but sadly the food was very poor, we actually laughed at how bad it was. Won't be ordering from there again :-(

The chicken tikka masala was spicy considering it's meant to be one of the mildest curries. My starter did not arrive, and when I called to amend this the restaurant said they'd deliver it. 30 mins later I'm still waiting. The rice was cold so I had to put my whole takeaway in the oven to warm it through again. The best thing about this was the popadoms as they gave me an extra one. Won't be ordering from there again!
