A proper pub with a great selection of real ales. It can get busy but if you don't mind standing it's not a problem. Nice and cosy around the back of the bar with a good fire

Difficult to find the entrance on approach. On entry, disappointed to find all vestiges of original interior gone. Served by not unfriendly staff a reasonably priced pint of bitter. Ultimately shocked on visiting the gentlemen's rest room to find the most unhygienic toilets it has been my misfortune to clap eyes on. The interior looks like the house that Jack built. Someone in the not too distant past has spoiled a very important part of this city's heritage.

Often come here when we've been walking from Aigburth down the waterfront to the Albert Dock. It's just on the right as you come out of the dock. It's just a small walk on the other side of the dock road dual carriageway. I believe its now a Grade 2 listed building. It has quite a history going back to the nineteenth century and has a very unusual triangular construction. Haven't tried the food in here recently so can't comment on that but they usually have a great choice of real ales and beers.

A great pub if you want a more "old school" English pub experience. It seems to be one of the few (perhaps the only) place in the area that has maintained this "vintage" atmosphere. You will find several beer labels, some of them local. About the food, I believe they don't have a kitchen, but you can order the classic pub snacks - roasted peanuts and chips (both processed) if you want. Traditional but unique pub as a stand-alone building in the Albert Dock area or really closer to the Baltic Triangle neighborhood. A bit weathered on the outside but the interior was cozy, which is just what I needed with the wind whipping as I walked to the hostel nearby. Tons of draft options and four cask handles. Crowd was a good mix and it was busy for a Saturday night but not overcrowded. Nice.

Great beer choice, card payments only (no cash) when I visited. The Philharmonic Dinning Rooms (The Phil) on Hope street is an amazing Victorian era pub that offer's a fantastic food and drinks range and this fantastic pub is considered to be the most ornate pub in England. Constructed between the year's 1898-1900 this brilliant Victorian pub had an amazing multi-roomed'Multi-floored interior with lots of interesting fixture's throughout the pub's ornate interior. Theres superb wood panelling and stained glass windows and chandeliers and there's many more interesting features throughout it's multi-roomed interior far to many to put on a review of this size.We have been here hundreds of times over the years and its as good now as when we first went here many years ago. We visited here early in the afternoon on a freezing cold day and it was fairly busy.We ordered a few cask ales at the bar and sat in a side room. The beers we had were from the St Austell Brewery which where 1st rate but they where very expensive at £5.55 for two halfs of cask ales. This pub is without a doubt one of the most ornate pub's you will ever visit and if you're ever around this area of Liverpool pay it a visit you won't be disappointed. (This is my fifth review's of the Philharmonic Dinning Rooms). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-11.00-00.00. Sunday-11.00-22.30. Public Transport. Bus Stop. 2 Kopparberg and 2 soft drinks going into the £20-£30 range on Google is quite naughty. If you think £6.80 for a kopparberg, we are on a Norris Green/Croxteth estate not in a main city centre where you would expect that. But there not that much even in Liverpool City centre or even London as I visit there frequently there around a fiver. I do understand there is rates to pay but there must be cheaper ways to buy this product in. Nice pub and decent food just drinks need a slight price check over…
