It's a nice drinking spot. We we're a little disappointed that there seemed to be less choice on the board than we saw advertised, but i think it was just luck of the draw and not a reflection on the pub. Relaxing atmosphere.

Despite always steering clear of ‘card only’ businesses, The Baltic Fleet was adjacent to where we were staying, looked like a good old fashioned boozer, so we thought we’d suck it up, just this once. On arriving at the bar I ordered a Guinness and a white wine. The girl behind the bar pulled the Guinness, and left it to settle on the drip tray whilst she fetched the wine. On her return, she placed the wine on the bar and thrust the card machine my way. I tapped my card, thinking she was still letting the Guinness settle, but then she moved on to serve someone else. “What about my Guinness?” I say. ‘Is that yours?’ She says, pointing to the pint she’d pulled not 30 seconds before. ‘Who pulled that?’ “Errr, you just did!” I say - ‘No I didn’t’ she snaps back - and then asks the other two guys behind the bar which one of them pulled it, to which they both reply incredulously “Not me!” As the girl has already begun serving someone else, one of the lads tops up the Guinness and I pay for it. As a parting shot, the girl shouts to me ‘next time, just let the one person serve you, it saves confusion!’ Needless to say, we drank up and Foxtrot Oscared to a friendlier, more welcoming establishment with staff who were actually on planet earth.

Difficult to find the entrance on approach. On entry, disappointed to find all vestiges of original interior gone. Served by not unfriendly staff a reasonably priced pint of bitter. Ultimately shocked on visiting the gentlemen's rest room to find the most unhygienic toilets it has been my misfortune to clap eyes on. The interior looks like the house that Jack built. Someone in the not too distant past has spoiled a very important part of this city's heritage.

Often come here when we've been walking from Aigburth down the waterfront to the Albert Dock. It's just on the right as you come out of the dock. It's just a small walk on the other side of the dock road dual carriageway. I believe its now a Grade 2 listed building. It has quite a history going back to the nineteenth century and has a very unusual triangular construction. Haven't tried the food in here recently so can't comment on that but they usually have a great choice of real ales and beers.

A great pub if you want a more "old school" English pub experience. It seems to be one of the few (perhaps the only) place in the area that has maintained this "vintage" atmosphere. You will find several beer labels, some of them local. About the food, I believe they don't have a kitchen, but you can order the classic pub snacks - roasted peanuts and chips (both processed) if you want. If you’re a lover of both cask and craft beer’s this is definitely worth a visit has they have decent range of beers to choose from. It has a number of small adjoining rooms and the seating areas are all serviced by outside lighting. It’s quite comfy overall however it was a little on the cool side during our visit despite having a warm real fire burning so we only stayed for 1 drink. We will have to visit when the weather improves. It was very popular with the locals.

Traditional but unique pub as a stand-alone building in the Albert Dock area or really closer to the Baltic Triangle neighborhood. A bit weathered on the outside but the interior was cozy, which is just what I needed with the wind whipping as I walked to the hostel nearby. Tons of draft options and four cask handles. Crowd was a good mix and it was busy for a Saturday night but not overcrowded. Nice.

The Baltic Fleet has undergone significant upgrading in recent years, and further work is planned for the future, staff are very polite and convivial. Lovely, traditional pub, not overdeveloped, near the Liverpool docks. Unusual shaped building, so a slightly unusual bar room layout, but who cares. Great beer choice, card payments only (no cash) when I visited. I was there on a Friday early evening, it was busy, but people tended to come and go in waves, so you might struggle sightly to get to the bar, but 15 minutes later the bar was deserted. In the Good Beer Guide, if that floats your boat.

We had a night planned at the Philharmonic Hall and wanted to grab some food before we went, I had been the Philharmonic Rooms before, but only for a quick drink and was really impressed by the grandeur of it all. Having researched the menu before hand it all sounded tasty, so we chanced it on a Friday at 4pm. The place was rammed, customers looking round like headless chickens trying to get some direction from the staff, I approached the bar and asked did we need to book for food, the man struggled to grasp what I was saying, eventually he said 'no no walk in till 5pm, can sit over the, just not in the grand dining room as its closed'. Well 'over there' was to little side rooms with about 6 two seater tables in each, both packed. We spotted a table with no chairs and jumped on it before anyone else could get it, we hunted out 2 chairs and we were at least sat down anyway. You'd think the staff would be used to this level of business and offer more direction to customers, not everyone is a regular patron. Ready to order we went the bar, when I said I wanted to order food another staff member said 'ill need to check if that's ok', puzzled I waited and when he came back he said 'sorry we only do walk-ins till 4pm' stunned in amazement, after battling to get a table and already been told it was ok till 5pm, I asked him to check again, he came back and apologised at his mistake. As I was new to the pub app I got a free cider voucher (Yay, highlight of the visit!) We were squashed against a doorway, with people constantly going in and out, unsurprisingly it took a while to get our food, but when it did arrive it was hot and tasty, but the prices are premium for the portion size and quality so could only give 4* for food. We didn't have much of a chance to look around because there was just so many people, it was also incredibly hot in them side rooms, was melting. Overall the visit didn't go the way id of hoped, I think it would be of much benefit to the venue if the staff offered more guidance and direction to customers who haven't visited before or who are clearly looking confused. We did get our food and it was good, it just would have been nicer in a more relaxed environment. I would visit again, when I was able too during a more quieter day / time of day.
