Popped in for a last drink...only criticism is you don't sell John Smith's Bitter any more .. Two pale ale pints one of them a shandy cost £13.10...!! Other venues visited £9 tops..

Always a great place, bar staff even on a busy weekend are friendly and efficient. The band playing on Friday weren't too good , there are far better talent out there that could be brought in to add to the great atmosphere.

100% honest review here..... was expecting Irish music so arrived at 7.30pm (Saturday nite) as a band was finishing off. Place was packed with young and old revellers singing along. Was going to leave once their set was over but we got seats at front near the stage area. Band, Eden, came on at 9pm and got totally swept up in the songs I wouldn't normally enjoy. Mix from Abba, Beatles, Kings of Leon, Queen, etc and they were really great.Fantastic atmosphere as place filled up again. The most amazing thing thing was young or old you would not have felt out of place with Elvis and Hen and Stag parties. Loved the singing and dancing and tequila rose shots. Thank you for closing at midnight😁

So different from the very Irish pub I remember from the early 1990s - Cream of the Barley and others playing downstairs. On this Friday night the live music pampered to universal tourist tastes - a bit weird if I'm honest - not even just Beatles but ABBA, Alanis Morissette, Kings of Leon, Ah well it was an eclectic mix of people, ages - more like Vegas! Fun in the end I guess

Anne was an absolute delight and cheered me right up after a tough week. Drinks and food were lovely 🖤 atmosphere is always banging. Boss time 🖤

Sad reflection of its heyday in the early 90’s when I was a student. You could not move back then. 3 floors of heaving people enjoying Irish music. Now a local band doing covers, 2 floors closed, plenty of room to wander. Maybe there is more choice now, Irish music is less cool, really sad.

Anne is an absoloute icon ! You need to go here for her alone not to mention the pints and 0 percent Guinness was scrannable x Nathan is sound too

Brilliant breakfast the morning after a heavy night on Matthew street. Great food and service from Anne lifted our mood before the breakfast even came out.

Booked and paid a deposit to watch the 6 nations. Was seated next to 2 broken tvs. Was told there was a 20 minute wait to order food and drinks, didn’t see the waitress again for another hour. When we did, we asked if we could now order food and was told no as she was going on her break, but her manager would come and take our order shortly. She didn’t. I tried to order cocktails at the bar and was told they didn’t have the ingredients for any cocktails, despite having a cocktail menu. When I pointed out all of the ingredients behind the bar that were needed for my order, I was told by the BAR MANAGER that she didn’t know how to make cocktails! I was clearly starting to annoy her at that point so we gave up and stuck to gin. We later had another unpleasant experience with her when she decided I wasn’t getting my deposit due to staff miscommunication as far as I could tell. She was telling me this whilst stood in front of the faulty tv while I repeatedly asked her to move to one side, during which I ended up missing the winning try and the end of the game. As a complex manager of a uk holiday park, I have a lot of sympathy for people dealing in hospitality having a bad day, which this may have been, and we were polite and courteous the entire time. But if I’d have seen any of my bar managers treat and speak to customers like she did that day, for their own failings, they’d have been immediately taken off shift.

Popped in on Saturday for a coffee with friends visiting from Yorkshire. They were very pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and quick service from Anne. It's always brilliant when our friendly city and people show the best side of us. Cheers Anne and Flanagans !!

We came from Yorkshire to Liverpool for the weekend with friends. Flanagan Apple was our first stop in town and we were served by Anne/Colette. Her friendly, efficient manner was very refreshing to see. Anne was courteous, polite, charming and very welcoming. I have no problem whatsoever in recommending Flanagans Apple as one of the best drinking holes in Liverpool. We will be back

First time in Flanagan's for years. Had a fab night, atmosphere was great, the duo playing downstairs had the place bouncing.

Jamie and Leah on the floor are a dynamic duo! They recommended me their personal favourites for food and Harry and Sean delivered the most excellent quality pizza! I would recommend their beef Mac n Jack pizza, what an absolute banging meal!!

Just had mega Irish Breakfast made by Dave chef. Breakfast was excellent 10 out of 10 , as a result I tip Dave with £5 . If I had more would tip him more as he made my breakfast so tasty. Don't come very often to pubs because of nature of my job . But when I do thats Flannagans for sure. Keep doing the good work Dave. Also staff Anne & Leah was great too . Dusan

Came into your fabulous bar on Saturday as a visiting Norwich City fan , and loved it. The atmosphere is brilliant, but the highlight was the amazing lady behind the bar who had realised the computer system had overcharged us for 2 drinks (we just thought they were expensive as it’s Matthews Street), came and found us, and gave us the money back. You definitely don’t get that in other venues in other cities. Especially London 😣. Loved Liverpool, and loved your bar. Will definitely be back 👍👍👍

Great service recieved on 25.01.24 from Anne and Clodah. Our food was perfect for a light bite which was made by Bianca. Would definitely come again when we're in the area.
