The best pizza in Liverpool. I really love it, especially the chicken pieces and strips. The man who serves us every time is really friendly and patient, and brings you your food really quickly. The food is definitely worth the price.

Do not eat here. Riddled with cockroaches literally ran past while waiting for food and 3 dead ones in counter. When asked for a refund his reply was he sprays the roaches everyday. Disgusting place do not eat here or you will end up ill. 2 star food hygiene rating too.

Was in Liverpool today with the kids, from down south, and needed a good halal venue. Most places we wanted to try were closed, at lunchtime on a Saturday (very strange in my opinion), so Chunkies was not my first choice to be honest. As it wss open, and not far from where I was at the time, we decided to go there. At first glance, the prices surprised us. Seemed quite a but more expensive than we're used to paying in Birmingham, but food surprised me more....in a good way. Chicken wasn't the tiny baby chicken we're used to being served. It was a meat from a fully grown adult chicken. Portions were a good size and the cheeseburgers were very well made and again, very good size too. The price was therefore very accurate for what we received. The owner even gave us a complimentary garlic bread that was amazing! Nice and soft and loaded with flavour. If I'm ever in Liverpool again, I'll definitely go back to Chunkies.

Excellent half pound cheese burger and chips too. Milkshake was good too but the burger was on another level. The bro was very keen and passionate about selling halal meats and even showed me the turkey ham packet. May Allah give you more barakah!. I'll be back inshaAllah. Recommendation was originally given to me at the masjid after fajar salah as I'm not a local but wanted to know where the musallees eat from.

Terrible service, waited 15 minutes in shop for cold food. They hand out food to homeless people but if you're planning on paying don't bother as the quality is not worth it. Not only was the food cold but it was bad tasting.

My whole family ordered a meal from Chunkies the food is revolting. The chips were cold and like cinders to eat, the kebab meat had a weird yellow colour and the salad looked days old. We threw the whole meal away and swore never again would we order a meal from there. I give it ZERO stars but this post site said I had to give it a star before they would place my review on here. How dumb is that.

Decided to give it a try as there weren't many reviews. The price is reasonable. I ordered 3 piece chicken fried to takeaway. The chicken was.....only warm, so it lost the crispy-ness. The cashier girl was friendly and welcoming.

Horrible food. Chicken wings where small and dry. Fillet burger was soggy and just plain horrible. Chips where soggy and cold chicken strips where extremely spicy even tho it wasn't listed in menu and plain horrible very dry like they have been sitting on cooker all day some of them where almost rock solid. I would get more pleasure of eating a £20 note than having this food. Everything went in bin. (hungry and annoyed) Will never have any food from there again.

Not ordered from here for a long time, but me and the BOY were hungry so decided we fancied some chicken. Placed our order for a family feast told that it would take 40 minutes. We had a phone call telling us it would be delayed then numerous texts telling us it was on it’s way. It took 2 hours before we received our order, they gave us extra fries but they were lukewarm. Chicken was tasty but don’t intend ordering from here again.

TO DELIBERATELY PICK YOUR NOSE whilst in the process of preparing an order for a customer is the height of unhygienic, desperately evil, arrogant, nonchalant, toxic, malicious, inhumane, inhuman, imp like and wicked behaviour that I've witnessed first hand in the catering industry. It was an eye opener. I urge you to not be fooled by the white décor. It's merely a distraction away from the irrefutable fact that the people that handle your food have hygiene standards that would make a sewer rat feel comfortable. It's nothing short of a Piggery. What you're about to read is a first hand account of my visit to Chunkies @ 86 prescot road, Liverpool on 05/02/2019. I'm no stranger at Chunkies as I've visited the place quite a few times in the past. I however stopped going there a few weeks back when I was constantly getting orders that just tasted completely 'wrong'. The quality of the food was nothing to write home about, and on more than one occasion, I felt disgusted after consuming orders from this chippie. I'm used to throwing away most of it due to utter disgust. I would retch after eating, and it felt as though my body was rejecting the food. I decided to visit the place on 05/02/2019 to order a simple meal. Not long after I walked into the service area, one of the employees greeted me and informed me that they had just got the chicken out of the pressure cooker. I then proceeded to place an order for a 'chicken and chips meal', but stayed at the front counter to inspect the preparation of my order. I even dropped tips too. The same employee that informed me that the chicken was 'fresh' out of the pressure cooker went to the hot plate where the chicken is usually kept and backed me as he seemingly took my chicken out of the hot plate and placed it in the chicken box. It looked like he was shielding what he was doing. While he was backing me, I noticed that he would turn around and quickly look at me and then turn back to facing the hot plate. I noticed after he did this twice (very quickly) he used his right hand to pick his nose while seemingly standing over my order and still backing me. Yes you read that right. I simply couldn't believe what I just saw. Maybe he thought I wouldn't notice because he was backing me ? That explains why he turned around to quickly check if I was watching what he was doing. It also explains why placing two pieces of chicken in a chicken box took far longer than usual. When he was done contaminating my food, he put everything in the standard take away bag and was about to hand it to me. I immediately rejected it and informed him that I saw him picking his nose while touching my order (direct contact). I even used gestures to signal to him what I had just seen. While in the process of rejecting the order, he had a cheeky grin on his face. A grin that you'd see on the face of a deceiver and someone who thinks they are crafty. He responded by saying (and demonstrating) that he was cleaning his eyes instead! Pathetic. Cleaning the mucus out of your eyes while touching my food ? A caterer SHOULD NOT have their hands ANYWHERE NEAR their face while touching someone else's food. NOPE. So his pathetic response was further proof that he was FULLY AWARE of what he was doing and was definitely not prepared for me to actually challenge his devilish ways. I requested a change and watched him use tongs this time. CHECK THIS OUT: On the way out, I saw him make a raised arm gesture at my back. I saw this from the side of my eye as I was walking out of the building and turning right onto Prescot road. Imagine the arrogance! Such a wicked minded and EVIL SOCIOPATH should not be ANYWHERE NEAR a kitchen preparing food for other people. I got home and binned the contaminated garbage. As they say 'Many days for the rat, One day for the CAT'... This is certainly true. I've learnt that there are INHERENTLY EVIL people out there, and they could be handling your next order. Burning Question: How long has my food been deliberately contaminated ? Never again.

It is quite regular that the orders of chicken I receive are dry and chewy. In fact, it could replace chewing gum. In addition to the quality of the food, I saw, with my own eyes, one of the workers eat the chips that were ready to sell with his bare hands. Before that, he took pills and his hands where touching everything. It is very truthful that Chunkies serve as a one way to sickness. Waqar is advertising, providing false information. I strongly advise to not trust him/her. Alternatives to Chunkies chicken are Chicksters on Smithdown or Freddies. I hope you take this into account; the hygiene is below satisfactory and the chicken is almost unedible. Disregarding all other foods - pizzas, milkshakes e.g - , chicken is best avoided.

I have visited the Starbucks in the Sydney Jones Library on many occasions. I have always found it to be pretty good. The staff are absolutely fantastic here - always very friendly and queueing never takes too long, so full marks to the whole team! Considering this is a University franchise of Starbucks, the selection of drinks is pretty extensive and very reasonably priced, for example a small tea is £1.60, which is pretty cheap. The selection of snacks isn't quite so good, but I think what is offered is perfectly sufficient. In my experience, this place is clean and tidy and is a nice place to set your laptop up and study, albeit please note that on some days, it shuts at 3pm, which I think is unnecessarily early. However, one thing which puzzled me is why they are continuing to social distance tables. Well after the 1m rule was axed on 19th July, this place has had less tables than normally, all a million miles away from each other which I thought was very strange, considering this place's surface area is small anyway. In my opinion, they're really shooting themselves in the foot by doing this as you are actively deterring custom! Having said that, I have a feeling that this is a University management decision, not a decision taken by the staff here. Also, this place does not accept cash whatsoever, in some weird bid to make the University campus 'cashless' and 'safer'. In terms of how disallowing people to pay cash in a coffee shop makes campus a 'safer place', your guess is as good as mine! Overall, it's a pretty decent coffee shop. I like to think that they've axed their ludicrous distancing measures by now, but if they haven't, note that you may struggle to find an empty table!
