The best restaurants serving Default food in Durham South County Durham North East

Right, so… I’m up here in Durham seeing family and looking on HappyCow for a vegan friendly place in town for lunch… and lo & behold, this little baby pops up that happens to be on my actual route from Ferryhill to Durham! Popped in to buy two cakes, and truly my eyeballs popped out of my head when I walked in!! The kindest man behind the counter, the cutest little (what I think) is literally a house that’s been converted into a little cafe, and THE most beautiful cheesecake I chose, plus a choc and orange cake!! Will be coming here every time I’m up now! 😱😻

They Don't know how to talk to customers. And the food is not at all Indian.

Great rooms and great food. The location is a bit odd, but it's convenient for day trips to Durham or Newcastle.

Room was spotless the landlord Richard was really helpful and Claire went over and above to from the time we got there until we left nothing was too much trouble for her . Definetly stay there again .

Without doubt, the best Indian takeaway within a 5 mile radius of Durham City and we’ve tried them all. Good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.

Thank you italian farmhouse managers and staff. What an outstanding service I have had. I hired italian farmhouse for my daughters birthday and from start to finish the service I received was amazing. I was unsure of what I wanted and kept swapping and changing my mind not once was I made to feel this was an issue,I just in the end decided I wanted something basic and simple like sausage rolls, wedges, sandwiches. I got this with the fun element for kids making their own pizza! They loved it and went down a treat! I have a niece who I didnt inform had a nut allergy ( my bad ) they were prepared to clean all surfaces allow us to check ingredients and make something for her but understandably said whilst they would do their best they couldn't guarantee so we declined and they allowed us to order in a pizza, this obviously is someones business but I feel to do this they want more than just money they want to give and make customers feel valued and welcome I was so impressed. Staff constantly checked everything was ok, constantly asked if anything else was needed they were prompt in bringing out food and keeping the area clean and tidy, nothing at all seemed to be a bother to them. I also had a courtesy call making sure all had went ok as I'd changed my mind that many times. Thank you so much italian farmhouse for an amazing memory for my little girl. We will most definitely be becoming regulars!

Friendly welcome from excellent and helpful staff. Very efficient service with good, hearty pub grub with generous portions. Good choice of beers and lagers, all in all great value for money.

Service can be slow. Prefer over Starbucks which is too bitter. Toasties are basic and ok cake selection. Usually use a drive through but sometimes sit in.

Stayed here recently. Clean and comfortable, and looked recently refurbed. Had dinner in the bar. I'm gluten-free and they were happy to talk through options. Food was reasonable, not that many beer options and only one cider. Very helpful and friendly staff and it's clear they are trying to build on something.

Cold burgers just say warm chips. Server forgot to put the sauce in we ordered.

I always enjoy this coffee shop with family or friends & also like to sit outside when the weather is good, but I have a little dog & it would be great if you had a section for us animal lovers to enjoy our beverages & treats indoors in colder climates.

Came tonight for Doner and chicken wrap with garlic, cheesy chips with onion and a portion of doner. Cheese and chips with onion went in the bin we found 2 blonde hairs in the food!! Absolutely revolting. The wrap was also a disappointment we asked for no chips in the wrap we actually then received chips in the wrap and no garlic even though we had requested this. The only thing eatable was the small portion of doner meat. Very disappointed and wont be coming again.
