Este lugar es genial!
Realmente buena comida a un precio estupendo.
Siempre nos dan una carne, un vegetal (la única opciones de menú) y siempre hizo a la perfección.
We went to the restaurant after booking a couple of weeks in advance but years of saying we really wanted to go. It looks the part and is lovely inside.
Sadly, the food was disappointing. Starters were at best, good. The mains, however, were incredibly poor. I had fish (on the bone) with new potatoes and my partner had the steak. It quite literally was just fat, and had no taste whatsoever. The table right next to us had the same and pushed it around their plates before leaving promptly.
My partner mentioned to the waiter his dislike and was met with a 'stare' that was then directed at me ? I was shocked at the unprofessionalism. As the restaurant is small, it was very awkward.
Anyway, we paid our £120 and left. We will not be returning.
Had we had a more professional waiter, we would've just put it down to making the wrong choice on the menu - but it was actually the waiters response that made our mind up that we a) would not be returning, and b) wrote this review.
Great restaurant in Bermondsey Street. Very busy on a lovely sunny Saturday. Luckily got seated straight away. Great service, was brought bread straight away. Made our order and food come within good time. Busy buzzing atmosphere. Would definitely return.
A hidden gem on Maltby Street. Spanish food is authentic and excellent. Staff is super friendly and the owner presides over the hospitable atmosphere of this charming restaurant as he meticulously cuts the different hams and cheeses to order, and then proceeds to explain their Spanish origins. Highly recommend Bar Tozino.
The ambiance was so quaint and welcoming...I especially loved the wine bottles all aligned on the stairs. We were a large group so were seated downstairs, where we had the best view of the chefs prepping our meals. The wine selection was amazing - yet so unique to their regions. We enjoyed a sort of appt, one each one better than the last. The entrees & desserts were fresh and lovely and presented so beautiful! Having a beautiful setting and delish food are huge wins, but when it's tied together with a very knowledgeable and polite staff - you're guaranteed for a memorable dinner out!
Andanza shows exactly why tapas-style eating can be such a revelation. We were pleased to be steered by the excellent staff on both food and wine selections, looking to be challenged, and they really delivered with some beautiful wine and some really flavoursome and unusual dishes (smoked sardines were a stand-out). A taste sensation from start to finish, can't wait to return.
