This place is great! Really great food for a great price. We always get one meat, one vegetable (the only menu choices) and they're always made to perfection.

It's a small, humble, family-run restaurant. Dishes are not diverse but what they offer is delicious and remarkable. We live nearby and like going back often. Staff is very amicable and welcoming.

Eating in this small, almost unnoticeable bistro in the multicultural neighbourhood of Old Kent Rd area is a truly unique experience. Keeping the menu simple prevents the indecisive from struggling with hesitation: you can either select the meat or the veg version of Ethiopian national dish Injera, that's it! As no cutlery is provided, you will be served water and lemon to wash your hands before eating, and you can easily use the pancake to collect your food. People with small hunger be aware: portions are huge! On the whole, big thumbs up for this cozy, friendly, delicious secret spot!

Tucked away on the Old Kent Road, we might not have noticed this little gem of a place had it not been for a recommendation from friends. It doesn't look much like a restaurant, and most of their customers come to collect their food and take it away (which we also do quite a lot - phone well in advance though because it can take a while to prepare the food!). However, eating here is a wonderfully fun and unique experience! From the little dishes of warm, lemony water to wash your hands in to ordering drinks and the staff running out to a cafe across the road to buy them, to the smells of the spices cooking, and the sparse decor (and miniature heater in winter), it is like no other restaurant I've been to! What makes Enat Guadas really special though, is the FOOD, which is Ethiopian and simply delicious. There isn't a menu - you either order "meat" or "veg" and see what comes (though you can order the meat without chilli, if you're not so keen on spicy food). "Veg" is a selection of 3 or 4 little dishes, the spinach one is particularly delicious as is the yellow lentil one, but they're all really, really tasty. You eat it on "injera", a large Ethopian savoury pancake, which soaks up the juices. The first time we went we had no idea what to do, but the staff are very friendly and helpful and talked us through it. It's not the kind of place where they come and bring you the bill - instead you go to the counter, ring the bell and someone will appear to take your payment. The first time we went we couldn't quite believe how cheap it was... depending on how much you eat, it comes to between £4-£6 a head! Since that first time we have visited many many times, and when we have guests and we want them to have a unique Old Kent Road experience, this is where we take them!

This tiny restaurant has a tiny but delicious menu. The unique Ethiopan pancakes (Injera) are served with either a deliciously spicy beef stew or four tasty little vegetarian dishes. Take your own cutlery, or better still rely on the bowls of warm water with a slice of lemon which are provided before and afterwards to dabble your fingers in. Very friendly service. And all this for just £13 for two. We added a big tip. In the evening it is usually easy to park nearby. We will definitely go again.

Now I do not claime to know anything about Ethiopian food, so thought the best way was to try some. What I had was a good mixture of flavours on one plate. Hot, a little spicy, and different textures.
