The best original Ethiopian food!

I was extremely hungry and realized that I would get home very late. Someone I know, recommended Zeret Kitchen. I don't usually eat out as I eat vegan and it's not always possible to find inexpensive vegan food. What a surprise this was! The vegan platter was large with a range of lentils with a large mound of rice in the centre. There was also a bowl of salad on the side. The flavor was the right balance of warmth with each item containing its own taste. I cannot exactly say which flavour was uppermost as they blended together so well. The food was delicious, delicious, delicious! The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the staff was also helpful and extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food was incredible and a new experience for us! The staff were very kind and looked after us. Highly recommend you visit! I really wanted to give 5 stars but the place was extremely noisy as it was busy to the point where we couldn’t really have a proper conversation. I would really like to encourage the restaurant to consider fitting some sound absorption material on the ceiling! Otherwise, for other customers I would recommend trying this lovely place at a less busy timing!

Zeret was the fourth such restaurant I’ve tried in London, and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was delicious and the owner even offered me an additional side for free given my pointed questions regarding the menu :) definitely recommend!

Great food. Truly, the best Ethiopian I’ve had in a long time. I hope they renovate the place, as that’s the only thing that I could pick on - everything else is top notch.

What an unexpected gem this place was. I’d heard my friends talk about the staff and food in glowing terms, but was still impressed by how lovely my experience was when we went together for my first visit. They were bery friendly, the vibe was chilled and the food excellent.

We were introduced to this wonderful restaurant during a Camberwell food tour last weekend. We enjoyed a beautifully presented platter of incredibly tasty Ethiopian dishes.

Whenever I go to a food city, I always try to get Ethiopian food. Zeret did not disappoint. The injera had the perfect mix between crispy edges while still maintaining the fermented texture that we love. I had the Derek tibs that came with a side salad and azifa. It was so much food and probably some of the best tibs I’ve ever had. It was spicy, crispy, and packed with flavor. Everything was well priced which is hard to find in London. The decor was beautiful and of course the sweet sounds of Ethiopian jazz just set the mood for a perfect dinner date. Lastly, the owner had a heart of gold that you could see from her smile alone. What a gem this place is, I have to come back when I’m in London next time.

One of the best meals in London I’ve had in a while! If you’re looking for the best Ethiopian in town, this is it! Vegan friendly - we had the house favourite and Kategna bread (honestly so so good!) Owners were super lovely, offering extra lentils to finish our injera bread. Highly recommend!

Incredible food and lovely, warm, professional staff. We came here pretty close to closing time, thinking maybe could grab something to takeaway but fully understanding that they might be about to pack up for the night. I dine here whenever I am in London because this restaurant serves the best Ethiopian food in London. Both the food and service are consistently excellent. I recommend the chicken and beef wot combination. It includes a choice of two vegetables and salad. This way you can sample a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious!

This is the best restaurant in Camberwell. I’ve gone a few times now and the food is always on good and the service is great. They’re so friendly and make you feel really comfortable. They do takeaway too you can always eat at home if you prefer.

The meat dishes are not good quality. If you’ve had authentic Ethiopian food then you will be bitterly disappointed.

The food here is fantastic, authentic and delicious. Portion sizes are very big and the team who run the restaurant are very friendly. The sharing plates are ideal.

Fantastic Ethiopian Food! We love Ethiopian and usually hit up a spot any time we travel to a new city. This place is legit! So good and the service is also great. It’s a little ways out there as most Ethiopian places tend to be..but it’s easily worth the trip! This easily deserves all the hype and positive reviews.

I had somehow never had Ethiopian food before and I loved this place. I heard about it on the Infatuation and glad I took the recommendation. Would recommend a reservation even on a weeknight because this seems to be a popular spot for people the catch up in the neighborhood. Overall really enjoyed the dinner for two option with a little taste of everything. Also the tea was yummy.

Once again, Zeret Kitchen proved why it is the best Ethiopian restaurant in London. I dine here whenever I am in London. The owner welcomed me warmly. She takes pride in her food and makes sure her guests are treated well. The food is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Traditional Ethiopian restaurants, had a the combo for one with beef , chicken two side veggies and a salad for £17.99. The food arrived cold and not spicy , the side veggies was different than what I ordered. Had the spicy Ethiopian tea which I loved and it was hot and cost £2.99. Complained about the food but nothing done about it.

The staff here are wonderful. They take the time to explain dishes. The frankincense burning in the air makes you feel like you’re almost about to eat at a friends house. We ended up getting 2 platters between 4 people and for the variety that you get I would say it’s good value. You can tell how proud the team are of what they do. The starter we had I’ve forgotten the name but it was an amazing crispy bit of bread , with a smoked pepper-iness to , different yo any flavour I’ve had before. All the parts of the platter were wonderful and it was nice to try so much , the staff top you up on injera too so eat away!

Great place! Delicious food and beautifully decorated restaurant. Mains are a good size - I would maybe even share one. The side salads are smaller. For vegetarians there is only one option for the large dishes with injera, but it was very good. I will definitely be back.

Amazing food and the staff were lovely. Prepare to eat the Ethiopian way…the Ethiopian beer was very good too, I had the St George’s my wife had Hebetha beer. Both great.

The food here is incredible this is my partner and my favourite Ethiopian restaurant in London. I've eaten here three times now and have had the vegan platter each time, it never disappoints. There's a nice buzz to the restaurant but enough space between tables to not be distracted by other people's. The staff and owner are friendly and accommodating. Not many restaurants that are this consistently great!

Was well looked after, welcomed and had the menu explained to me perfectly. Food was very unique to me but was a great introduction to Ethiopian food and it felt fresh, healthy & tasty.

Loved the vibe and the food was yummy. Really tasty and authentic. The c service was slow so that's the only thing but will go back because the people were lovely. If you are into a laid back atmosphere where people take their time to enjoy the food and life, go and visit. It's worth it.

Wonderful. Some of the best and most authentic Ethiopian food in London. The misir wot, the shiro, the alecha and the awaze lamb tibs should be triedm The staff were very friendly and attentive, but didn't make us feel rushed. They even sell their own cookbook! Thank you for a lovely meal!
