I thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant. The food is superb, the service is really friendly and the atmosphere buzzes with life. We arrived just before it opened - which was fortunate as it was full within 30 minutes! I can’t wait to visit again when I am in the area.

Yes way, Jose! This place would get 10 stars if I could give it to them. My third time in there, and they just keep on delivering. Food is to die for! It is not possible to book a table, so you need to be prepared to queue for a little or a lot of time 😉 But is worth it. It is the best tapas place I have been in London. Those people work really, really hard. Highly recommend it!

The food was of very poor quality, each croquette cap that looked like mini croquettes on top with a lot of oil at £7, the brava potato cap at £7 also with a sauce that barely reached my palate due to the small amount of sauce it had and only It brought about 9 slices of potatoes, a 250g meat and a little bit of potatoes at £27, the services are at £6.55 which are also included in the bill, I would have saved all of this if I had not given To try a terrible Spanish restaurant like this one in London with poor quality/price, I paid more than £56. I would never repeat it again, I was carried away by the positive comments it has.

Late dinner and unplanned visit. Food was served quickly and prepared fresh to order. Well presented dishes, the highlight dish was the friend goats cheese with honey. I didn’t expect to like this combo but it was fantastic but just not enough of it. The squid ink rice tasted great especially topped with the aioli and crispy squid on top. The prawn fritters had a tiny kick and decent amount of prawns. Overall dishes had good textures as well as flavour. I wasn’t pleased with £10 a glass for a beverage, but it was good quality i suppose. Service was just alright, seating wasn’t very comfortable either. 🇪🇸

Good food, poor service. Uninterested, unfriendly staff and very rushed experience which was a shame as the food is good. Despite wanting more wine, tapas and dessert, we were told we only had 10 minutes left at our table, even though there were empty tables and no-one waiting to be seated (restaurant still busy, it wasn't the end of the night). About £10-18 per tapas (get 2-3 per person), red wine from £34 per bottle.

Awesome. I treat 10 of all employees. Luis and all the managers and waiters are charming and their recommendations are the best, such as the tuna with onions from Gadira, an emblem of the province of Cádiz. Adonis, the guy in the kitchen is very nice and always has a smile no matter how full the restaurant is. The food is exceptional, truly the best in London in terms of Spanish food. Iberian feather 5j, grandmother's lentils.... Thank you so much

A bit too overpriced... but I would say croquetas are homemade and taste amazing. Salad with tuna and endives was extremely bitter and it ruined the whole taste. One of the servers was not that friendly when we politely asked to be moved to another table.

Glorious tapas which were really fresh and tasty. The wine was also delicious. We asked our waiter for recommendations and we're told to get a variety of dishes (pan con tomate, sardines, grilled goats cheese etc etc) and it was all delicious. We entered rather late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised at polite information to wait just ten minutes. The bar was full, tables occupied and the place was abuzz with the chatter and loud laughter that only great food and good wines/cocktails bring forth. We were quickly shown to the last available bar stools with a long-ish table. Our Spanish friend ordered quickly and well for us: the usual patatas bravas but with a wicked roasted tomato and paprika spiced creamy dip, fried balls flavoured with squid ink and with prawns were superb and melt in the mouth, the tortilla was the cursory nod to a tapas spread, the anchovies drenched in olive oil were meltingly flavourful especially on and with the pan con tomate which we reordered. The charcoal infused bun sandwiched a generous amount of perfectly grilled calamari so eating seemed indulgent with aioli and calamari oozing out. Of course needless to say the Iberico jamon in wafer thin slivers were barely chewed and just melted away on the tongue leaving a slight salty meaty flavour one longed for again. There were padron peppers and all of this aided by glasses of Rioja and an Espana Negroni with a heck of a kick! Tapas tastes best in crowded loud spaces with the sound of happy well fed people around you, super fast yet polite service and lots of plates shared in a most interactive way. Jose tapas bar went beyond fun finger foods. There was a gastronomic edge to the dishes that’s had us planning another feast there! Till then, Mmmmmmm!!!

Ristorante spagnolo a Bermondsey.

We have been coming for over ten years to this spot that we used to call our fave. We have been twice recently and the food is absolutely exceptional as always. However, it’s very sad to say that the service has made us feel totally unwelcome. Frenzied welcomes, staff who cannot take orders properly and portions of food (squid at £17 a tapas) literally thrown at us. Considering this place is always busy and have queues of people waiting for a table I was excited to try. The wait staff were miserable and not friendly at all, they never smiled. It felt like it was a chore for them. The patas bravas were plain and boring, the sauces bland. The croquettes were equally bland and very un-interesting. We also had a plate of iberico jamon which was a very small portion even for tapas standards. The cost at £14 did not provide value for money. They only good thing about our visit here was the wine. 3 plates and two glasses of wine came to over £50. I think this is over priced for what it is and the food does not live up to standard. Not worth going back!

Overpriced, average food, bad management but a nice atmosphere at least. The service was poor, the drinks arrived half way through the meal with the wrong order and the manager made us feel we had to eat fast so new customers could come in. I am not sure where this place gets all the good reviews. First the spanish omelette, not sure what’s the point of drizzle oil on top of something that is fried (this blew my mind, in a bad way) and put some chives. I can only guess that is to cover that the taste is bland and the potatoes not cooked well. The croquetas, very average, it tasted like fried dough more than an actual croqueta and then we had the black rice, same story. I am sorry if this comes across rudely, but London is full of Spanish restaurants that try to be a fancy version of the Spanish cuisine offering average quality, extremely overpriced and as a Spaniard, is extremely disappointing.
