Food was delicious and there were great choices. The staff were lovely, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We had our little dog with us and he was also made to feel very welcome! First time going to this restaurant but definitely won't be the last. The Iberico ham was the beat i have tasted in London ,patron peppers delicious. Along with so many other dishes we tried. All in all the food was fantastic. Wine suggestions from waitress ,excellent and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend you trying this restaurant. I loved it

We were there for dinner from 6.30-8.30pm on the Thursday night. The food was ok but we were being rushed the whole time during dinner. The waiter rushed us to order from the beginning. We are fully aware the table is booked for 2h, but the way they rushed us to finish the food and leave is very unpleasant and rude. I do not recommend this place!

Didn’t have a booking but managed to get a walk-in and sit at the bar. Service and the atmosphere were amazing (great vibes), and the food was 10/10 - the spicy mussels and ox cheek were the show stoppers for me! We also got house white wine and it was a lovely honey flavour. Thanks for a lovely dinner!

Restaurant has nice ambience with an open kitchen scene which we like. Food is ok, not great considering the price. We arrived for a 7:30pm reservation on a Sunday not knowing that the kitchen closes at 8:30pm until we were part way through our meal and we were told the kitchen is closing so order now if you want something else. No more wine or food just dessert. The chefs were cleaning up all around us which was annoying because we were seated at counter service which is directly facing the kitchen. We no sooner put our silver ware down than it was wisked away, including my wine glass which still had a sip of wine in it. I normally wouldn’t care about a sip of wine but I wasn’t done eating and there was no more wine being served so the last sip was somewhat important. The bill came and my husband is looking at it and notices a 13% service charge added at the end of the bill (based on post tax charges). In the fine print it reads “optional” but no one tells you it’s on the bill or that it is optional. If you are generous, you may add a tip not knowing the 13% is the gratuity (verified by the waitress when asked about the service charge). If we hadn’t noticed it on the bill, we would most definitely have tipped her. We felt it was quite deceptive. For the money, it was not a great experience. I probably would not go back.

I do not recommend. Service was ok, nice waitress doing her best, but food was overpriced and not so tasty, the cod for example was rather tasteless.

Great ambience & nice food. However, we ordered mussels and more than half were not fresh, with foul smell and could not eat at all. Our experience at Pizarro would be perfect if the mussels is fresher.

Wonderful spot on a street with loads going on. The menu was perfect… great choice without being too broad. And the food and service both absolutely superb. One of my London favourites…

Pizzaro was great! It combined casual yet attentive service with great food. The restaurant was a little difficult to reach on public transport - about the only negative thing I can say about the place. But 15min walk is hardly an effort to get to an excellent restaurant like Pizzaro. The restaurant has big windows facing the street as well as several C shaped sofa seats facing open kitchen as well as conventional tables. Kitchen is brightly lit compared to the tables adding to theatrical feel and romance. Atmosphere was relaxed we didn't feel intimidated and it was great to see a couple work little babies being offered space and support to enjoy their meal (I think too often London forgets young family might also want to enjoy great food!). Service matched the decor and atmosphere. Waiting team was prompt, responsive and obviously passionate. I asked about couple of dishes and detailed description by our waiter was so good we could almost taste it. Food came out quickly but without being rushed. Our little plates were changed when it needed to be changed without having to ask. Even carafe wines could be refilled when I simply asked 'more of the same please' - something that can only be done if the waiter knows the table and many restaurants struggles to do. And the food. Every thing was excellent. Croquettes were creamy and cheesy. Arroz de pisto (a bit like paella made with rice only) sounds simple but cooking and taste was anything but simple. Bacala fritters were full of taste of cod without any hint of fishiness. Spanish black pudding was so good I could have easily eaten another plate. About the only disappointment was the restaurant selling out on couple of their popular dishes - that's what you get got going late on Sunday and I'd recommend going early! We were too full to have dessert and the tart had sold out anyway so we skipped dessert. I'm no wine buff and I wouldn't be able to say if the wine list is good. Carafe wines were not over priced although it was nothing special and would have been nicer to have slightly better wine at £17 for 375ml - but don't take my word, as I'm a novice on wines. Interestingly the bill was similar to our previous night at different restaurant. But unlike the above restaurant, we were full, atmosphere was enjoyable and food was much, much better. We will return again (at earlier time to enjoy their signature dishes!)

We absolutely loved it here! The food, drinks, staff, and service were brilliant... This cool, contemporary style restaurant on a trendy street made for a perfect london day out lunch. Food wise, we started with the melt in the mouth sliced Iberico jamon and chilled tomato and olive salad paired with a couple of glasses of the smooth Oloroso sherries.. then our second tapas plates were the most memorable roast chicken croquettes, so delicious! For our main sharing plate, we had the superb white prawns, fried eggs, and chips platter, which, as instructed by our waitress, we broke the eggs and mixed in to make a thick rich sauce to add to an already stand out dish... Finished with a lovely desert, and that was a perfect spanish style lunch over!! Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant to all....Enjoy!!

We are well travelled across Spain, and rarely come across a real Spanish restaurant in England, but Pizarro is the exception. The service was excellent , and the food was the best I've eaten in UK based Spanish venue. As I said to a member of staff, "the best Spanish restaurants are mostly owned by Spanish people". This is a real family run business with abuela y abuelo set on a picture on the wall. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we will see you in December. Ivan.

Having eaten at most of Pizzaro restaurants i was very disappointed. Staff were too busy talking to each other to look after customers the food was at best average. Never seen so many staff in a restaurant of this size and for tapas was very slow.

Nice place and accommodating staff to eat Spanish food. We tasted 2 types of wines, really loved that white Rioja they have.

This is such a wonderful restaurant in Bermondsey. Just a few feet away from Jose’s tapas restaurant. It was our first time and we were not disappointed. We hadn’t booked a table but we were given a table by the window. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We ordered peach salad, tomato salad together with tuna and potato salad. We finished our order off with prawn with chips topped with two fried eggs. What’s not to like. Fried eggs. Omg. All dishes were amazing.

One of my favourite spots in london for great Spanish food, you cant go wrony with this place. Amazing service, last time I accidentally booked for 2 people instead of 4 but they were able to accomodate us during busy period and FOH staff aways lovely. Great atmosphere for any occation beautiful decor and open kitchen is so nice. Food is always top class, mixture of classic authentic tapas style dishes and creative spanish main dishes literally loved everything i ve had there and ive pretty much ordered everything off the menu

Brilliant food accompanied by excellent service

We were waiting for our order for 30-40 minutes. The server blamed the chef. I don’t like complaining but the rice was uncooked and not edible. We said it to our server who interrupted us explaining the problem and said he’d talk to his manager. The manager came over to our table and looked at the dish and at use but said nothing. The server came back and said ‘sorry you didn’t like it’ and gave us the bill in an unfriendly tone. The bill included the dish that we ate none of. When we spoke to the manager he blamed the server. Everyone seemed to just pass the buck! No such thing as accountability or just saying sorry! The manager still fobbed us off and only at the end when we said we wanted it removed from the bill did he remove it. It felt like he was playing chicken and trying to chance how long he could go until we payed for the uncooked rice. Earlier in the evening the server had told us food we hadn’t ordered was on the way and when we said we didn’t order it he very very righteous and defensive- saying he read back the order and he’s certain we ordered that. Seriously lacking customer service skills. We left with such a sour taste in our mouths - shocking experience.

The staff were extremely nice and attentive. It was one of the waitresses second day and you would have never known she was so kind and personable. The small starter plates we got were amazing we went for the croquettes and tomato bread. The main had really Fresh seafood in it but was over seasoned and a bit greasy.

I’ve been going to the restaurant since it opened 10 years ago and last night might’ve been one of the best dinners. The food was phenomenal and Chelsea deserves an award for possibly giving us the best service I’ve ever had in a restaurant in London! We felt special from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. In my mind, this is one of the greatest restaurants in London

Food was like going to a nandos. Waiting staff were friendly but the American bar staff member was pretentious and obnoxious and because of his arrogance put me off this restaurant instantly

Lovely staff but food was inadequate and overpriced. Sharing a small (about the size of a chicken leg) leg of lamb and a tiny bowl of sliced potato with some kind of watery gravy slopped on top, no veg, for £60, honestly terrible value for money. Starter was no better. Although we complained to waitress, no manager came to ask why we weren’t happy. So we paid £140 per couple (there was a bottle of wine), and left after the quickest meal ever, with a sour taste and no desire to ever return.

Incredible food and wonderful ambiance. What really made the evening was truly the best service I have ever encountered at a restaurant - huge shout out to Órla who was so knowledgeable, made fantastic recommendations and was a genuine pleasure.

A real Goldilocks of a place. Casual buzzy canteen atmosphere. Lovely attentive friendly service. Food was really special - high quality ingredients and a lot of thought and work - the blood sausage was particularly great - and the price was good. Amazing experience! We went to Pizarro Bermondsey on a sunny day and it was such a good experience. We sat in the terrace and enjoyed the sunny day whilst being served the best Spanish food we had so far since living in London. The service was 10/10 Joan Garcia made the experience even better for us, from food and wine recommendations to his friendly service. Will definitely come back.

Nice dining room and pleasant staff. Food tasty but not special, short menu so may be tricky for some to have a good selection. Quality food but overall lacked atmosphere and so felt underwhelmed.

It's a lovely looking, clean edged restaurant with a good set up. The service is fine, a tiny bit over attentive if anything. The padron peppers were lovely. The ox cheek cannelloni was really bland, as was the spinach side dish. There was very little flavour and tasted a bit too salty. For the prices, I couldn't recommend this place. Below par.

Bitterly disappointed. Booked a table for two for my wife's birthday on Saturday 27th. Arrived at allotted time to be told, "Sorry, we've had a power cut" we can't offer any service. The manager lied, in that he said he's been trying to contact me, but no calls, missed calls, text messages or e-mails received. We weren't offered a complimentary drink, or any assistance in finding somewhere else to eat, even though the Pizarro tapas bar is about 30 metres up the same street. Very annoyed, and, had it been me that cancelled, I would have been charged a £15.00 per person no show charge. Received an e-mail on Sun 28th, saying that they "...were sorry that I had cancelled my booking". Complete rubbish. We will not be going back, there are far better restaurants nearby. Pizarro staff and managements attitude, "there's nothing we can do, your on your own. I wonder what Jose himself, or Fred Sirieix would say to such uncaring and unhelpful staff.

Atmosphere was perfect, busy but not too loud. The food was absolutely delicious, simple dishes packing so much flavour. The service were exceptional…Orlagh went above and beyond and made our lunch one to remember. ♥️

Came here for a belated birthday with one of my close friends. We got a complimentary bubbles on arrival, thank you Giovanni for making us feel at home. Then we were served by the best attentive waiters called Orghlaith and Chelsea. The food was tasty, the wine was beautiful and the Liquer 43 was fantastic. Thank you for a memorable evening. Disappointing quality of food for the overpriced tag. I have never seen jamon that has so much fat left on it when sliced, which for c.£30 for 60g you would expect better. Overall there are superior restaurants in London for that price range once you have had three courses. Would not recommend, especially if you actually know how proper Spanish food should be served.

Some of the best Spanish tapas I have had outside of Spain. The food was of a really high standard, the Croquetas were delicious, the suckling lamb (Pierna de cordero lechal) was amazing, Pizzaro's own Rose was delicious and what made it was the staff were really attentive, explain the dishes and provided great recommendations, which compliment the experience taking it from good to great. 100% will be going back and 10/10 would recommend.

11.04.24 update: Pizarro has been incredible again. Today we had the padron peppers, croqetas de jamon, tuna stew and mussels then chocolate tarte and Basque cheesecake - all fantastic. The highlight was Olivia our server who was lovely, informative and chatted with both of us. This is our favourite restaurant and we will be back again next time we're in the area. Original review: A great accidental find - really nice staff, wonderful food and a fairly good range of dishes on the menu. We'll be coming again.

Pizarro is a very good restaurant, we enjoyed our visit but be careful with the mussels, the sauce is to spicy and gave me an allergy, this is the first time I developed an allergy while eating. Having said this, I really recommend this restaurant . The staff are friendly, especially the young Spanish waiter Mr Melo.

Excellent food (the paella was 👌🏼) and fantastic atmosphere. Enjoyed watching the early Saturday night Bermondsey crowd walk past from our window bench table. We had really good service too from Orla and the team. Will be back!

Pizarro is my favorite restaurant during 2 weeks stay in London. I went for dinner once and before my flight back to Malaysia. My fav dish is the beetroot salad, not a fan of beetroot but this is so simple, juicy and refreshing, in fact I have it twice! Although they're full house but the service and the food quality is impeccable! Tried a few michelin stars restaurant during my stay and i can say pizarro is much better than the other two michelin star tapas restaurant i went to. The service (i forgot their name) is not pretensive unlike the 2 star michelin i visit...i feel welcome here. I will revisit whenever i have chance to go back to London. Keep up the good work.

Real, authentic and amazing chef.

There are a lot of reasons that this restaurant has won awards, and they're all best experienced by taking the time to experience them.

The atmosphere is great, but aside from that we were incredibly disappointed. Food - average at best, portions felt small. The only notable dish was the croquets, which were well made and tasted great. Some dishes were incredibly greasy with oil pooling at the bottom. Service - the waiter was quite loud and pushy. I felt like I had to repeat myself a lot. It didn't feel like they were taking my order, but more I was being used on food with little concern what I wanted (especially when it came to alcohol). I was there with .g extended family and it felt extra chaotic because of the constant up selling. Pricing - are very high for the quality and quantity of food you are getting. Prices are especially unfair when it comes to alcohol. For £50 you get a bottle of very very average wine at best. (We were poured a second bottle without asking, we didn't like the wine, and we're struggling to finish it). Overall it felt like we were bing up sold on subpar food and drinks, some items were snuck into our table without explicitly ordering them. I ended up getting sick right after the meal because of how greasy some of the dishes were.

We had a waiter who would constantly press us on whether we wanted more drinks, but we had to constantly chase for attention when we wanted to order food. To the point where the whole table was surprised we ordered an extra bottle of rose that we didn't like. Food was very greasy and one member ended up vomiting outside the restaurant. Serving sizes are small, to the point where the plates of ham feel blatantly incorrect by weight. Restaurant is clean and well decorated, and was suitably warm. The restaurant is dog friendly and were accomodating for him.

We had a reservation for 6 and so were allocated a side room. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome by the friendly and helpful staff. over our aperitifs, with some help, we chose our starters, main courses and wines. The service was efficient and we shared out all the dishes so were were all able to taste the excellent food.

Food was absolutely delicious. Orla, our server, was also so good at talking us through the menu and help us with decision making!

We came with high hopes after a recommendation for the main course of mushroom rice from The Times.. Tbh it was all a little bland. We had three tapas choices. The sourdough was great, but the bean and cockle stew needed a lot more seasoning. The main rice course was also just a bit dull. Maybe we should have chosen more interesting dishes! We also had a dessert of chocolate and salted caramel tart - sounds amazing, but it really wasn’t. The chocolate part has a horrid sand-like texture - never thought I’d leave some of a dessert like that.. Finally the bill came with a whopping American style 13.5% service charge. The service was good, but on a bill for two for £150 that’s an extra £20. It’s literally taking the pizzaro ….

The food was very good. I expected a bit more but I really can’t complain about it! We had lots of vegetarian food options what we really enjoyed! The atmosphere was very loud and hard to have conversations with my family. But the service we had was very poor unfortunately. We didn’t felt welcome around them and it seemed like that we annoyed them with our different orders. A lot of room to improve.

Very nice food! The pork tartare in particular was very tasty and well seasoned. Would definitely recommend. The staff were very nice and the service was prompt. The food also arrived quickly. The only downside was that it was a bit loud but that is to be expected from a spanish restaurant on a Thursday night. Great spot!

Food was delicious. Staff is very friendly, with some language barriers but nothing major. Prices a bit exoensive but worth it. I recommend.

Firstly, they were really great with my assistance dog (Hearing Dogs for Deaf People). He was bought water and we were given the perfect table for keeping his safely out the way without risk of being trodden on. Our waitress was lovely - she helped us to avoid over-ordering and spent as much time as we needed going through the menu. She was warm without being over-friendly and had an eye for when she might be needed. She was very kind to my dog too. Drinks were great - some amazing sherries and perfectly put together cocktails which weren’t too sweet. Highlight of course was the food. Iberian pork -perfect. A sort of Spanish black pudding with cuttlefish. And the best raw prawn dish I’ve ever had. 3 small plates and one main was just right for a special celebratory meal for two people. What I would change - bread could be a bit less expensive. You need it to mop up the amazing sauces but it’s too pricey.

I was blown away by my experience yesterday, Spanish food to his best and absolutely different than any other Spanish restaurant! The service is friendly, wam and professional! Jose the famous and celebrity chef owner is there to welcome you and bringing his passion and sharing his knowledge and positive warm Spanish Soul! Place to go anytime any day. Food was really good in Bermondsey, we booked for 2 on Valentines day its also my Partners Birthday. I added to the booking is we could get a birthday dessert as a surprise. I also rang the restaurant to confirm and its didn't come after paying the bill. Of of course I couldnt ask the waiter infront of the table. A real letdown really.

Food was terrible. If you are looking for authentic tapas this is not the place (also because all staff is Italian). We waited an hour for the paella which came in burnt.

Lovely little spot, very chill, tried it after trying Jose down the road. Amazing amazing food. The rib eye was splendid. The staff kindly situated us in a spot with extra room for my dog. I would do 4.5 stars if a could rather than 4, lost half a point for the drinks! The cocktails definitely need a little look at.

We had the best experience at Pizzaro. We did the jamon masterclass and learned so much. It was followed by a delicious lunch. The croquettes were insanely good. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Booked for lunch, after searching for something that promised an authentic Spanish experience and it did not disappoint. We shared 2 different croquetas (crisp perfection), red raw shrimps (fresh and zingy), squid and morcilla (intriguing flavours), pan con tomate (4 generous slices packing a real tomato taste) followed by a delicious tart and a proper Spanish cheese selection. A cocktail, a manazilla and a carafe of excellent rose (Jose) rounded off our delectable lunch. Hope to return!

Professional and friendly service, a wide menu with enough vegetarian choices too. Everything was pretty good - perhaps the cannelloni was too rich in my view but the parson peppers and beet salad were spot on

The canelonis were amazing! And service was very good, they suggested different dishes and wines, very friendly and polite. Would love to come back soon!
