It was my second time there and I can say it was a mistake to go there. These are the worst tapas I’ve ever had. Most of the food looks and rates as if it’s straight from a can. Do not go there!

Tuve una gran dificultad para reservar por teléfono y necesitaba teléfono ya que mi amigo parcialmente discapacitado tuvo que preguntar sobre el acceso y el baño, etc. Después de 9 intentos en varias ocasiones y días, finalmente alguien levantó el teléfono. Reservamos para el domingo por la noche 26/11/17 mesa para dos. Tomó más de una hora en una noche helada en transporte público para llegar allí. ¡Llegó a tiempo y horrorizado de encontrarlo cerrado! Ni siquiera una llamada telefónica! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

We made a reservation for dinner last Sunday at 21:00 and end up going there and it’s closed! Very very disappointing as they didn’t even inform us that the resto was closed that day at that time. They should sort that out!

Varied and Authentic tasting meal. This the second time we have eaten here it is my sister in laws favourite restaurant and her veggie partner throughly enjoys the food here. Come and enjoy the best Tapas out side Spain.

The restaurant was very quiet people-wise so ambience was subdued but the staff were pleasant and the choice of tapas was excellent. Served well and authentic. Altogether good food but the Cava is overpriced at £8.25 a glass whereas the house Rioja was tasty and well priced !

The food was average, it wasn't piping hot when delivered, and whilst it wasn't BAD per se, it was just sort of bland, my gf was more disappointed than I, sadly won't be ordering again but may come in for food as i feel with added heat it would've been better

Moody manager added a sneaky tip for himself after I used a voucher code. Reviews on Google suggest it's not the first time he has done it. He was miserable throughout and barely more than grunted. Probably why me and my partner were the only ones there on a Sunday night at 7.30pm.

Pleasant enough, but unfortunately there were only two other diners present the entire time we were there, so lacking in atmosphere. Barcelona rjocca reserve wine was very good. Food average.

Cena de cumpleaños. Elegimos este lugar ya que era Español y como era mi cumpleaños (Español) madres y cerca de donde vive. Había 6 x de nosotros. Una noche de miércoles justo después de 5. 00:00 h. Estábamos en ese momento las únicas personas allí. Pedimos una Paella mixta x5 (mariscos). Algunas otras cosas también fueron ordenados, el proyecto bombas más grandes estaban fuera de orden, así que tuvimos 2 x 1 litro importado más grande. . Las niñas tenían 1 x jarra de sangría, que disfrutamos. (x3) 1 x coca cola para el conductor. . . Sólo había 1 x miembro del personal y él nos cuidó. La comida era buena y las bebidas bien!Los accesorios accesorios eran básicas no n emociones, comida compensaba. Al final, cuando nos estábamos pagando mediante tarjeta que estaba teniendo problemas con la máquina de tarjeta, de hecho, esperamos algún día antes de que lo arregló. Volvería de nuevo, y eso es el mejor elogio de la factura era de 175 libras = 29 libras por cabeza, con bebidas en Londres, no está mal.

Teníamos la selección de ibéricos, que era muy bueno y que representan los gustos. La selección de panes tostados con una variedad de aperitivos de anchoas, pimientos, atún y tomate con aceite era muy buena y el pan crujiente pero suave como debe ser. La tortilla era mullido y sabroso. Los gnósticos con patatas y 'huevo' - la carne picada de cerdo con patatas y un huevo frito era delicioso. Nos dieron una botella de vino tinto de la Barcelona vino tinto de la casa por £20 (podría ser más barato! ) y la crema catalana, el español versión de flan. Pagamos casi 30 libras por cabeza, lo que estaba bien. Sin duda volveremos a este lugar, espero que también a Barcelona pronto!

Not Great Query: My partner and I have been using taste card for years and I have never written a review but felt this one was necessary. This restaurant does not offer two for one, although it states it does. My partner and I ordered a starter, a main and a desert each (no tapas) and only received £7.75 off the bill which was then added as service charge. Major rip off and the food was standard- the desert was awful and the latte was just milk I will never return

Stuff is pretty decent, "Calamares" are pretty good, "Pa amb tomaquet's" good too. Surprisingly acceptable for being located where it is, which is a pretty remote corner. Not the cheapest..but it is London what do you want?

We had been to Barcelona Tapas once before. The previous visit was decent, but this time it was poor, due mostly to the service. The food was decent, but one of the dishes (croquettes) arrived when most of the other dishes had already been eaten; so late that we thought they had forgotten the croquettes. The restaurant was quiet, and when another couple came in, they sat them right next to us (that shows the waiting staff care more about their journey than anything else), and then were very chatty towards them. They weren't with us. That's a small thing, but it made us feel that we were just punters in to eat and go. Basically, there was no sense of occasion. Football should also not be on the tv. If I want football on, I'll go to the match or to a pub.

The food is so authentic but the restaurant was so cold, with no atmosphere and the wines were very expensive unless you chose the house wine.

They were closed despite their website openining times and booking through open table. My date left.

The food was good. Had olives followed by 5-6 tapas. The cod croquettes and the manchego were particularly nice. We ordered wine that was not available and the waiter picked out a wine for the same price for a similar region which was nice.

He visitado Barcelona Tapas Bar varias veces y siempre hemos disfrutado de la comida y el ambiente. Las porciones han sido siempre generoso, pero el menú ha sido revisado, pero no para mejor. Antes había varias opciones de oferta" soy, pero estos se han reducido en número. Sin embargo, lo que es suficiente para dos según el menú era realmente suficiente para nosotros tres y aún así no comer de todo. Langostinos en pasta, altamente recomendado. Normalmente el chorizo es delicioso, aunque un poco salado, pero tuvimos que volver porque estaba recocida. Felizmente le sustituirá. La cerveza estrella - mi favorito Español lager - es refrescante. El personal es amable y hay un ambiente relajado y no hay prisa o fiebre.

Entorno agradable pero plagado de moscas?, donde? Me dijeron que era porque las ventanas estaban abiertas?

Excellent friendly service and food. The chef modified a dish as we did not want it in batter and the specials (king prawns and lamb cutlets) were delicious. We were also given a taster dish to try free of charge.

We ordered 6 small plates of tapas, some were really good and few were just ok, but generally the food is great here, reasonable price, friendly staff.

The food was very good, really loved the squid. Unfortunately delivery time was really slow; took almost 2hrs to arrive. Called a couple of times to check and customer service wasn't great. They did give us a free bottle of wine by way of apology though. Would recommend but be prepared for a long wait.

Excellent value as always. We were there for a birthday and the staff did us proud with free birthday puddings. Delicious food which was appreciated by everyone. Good service as always

Had a mixed Paella chicken and prawns and a veggie one plus some varied tapas and a lovely sangria to celebrate my birthday. The service was ok. Nice atmosphere really enjoyed the meal.

I'm only lucky that my sister who is severely allergic to bee and wasp venom did not try my food, or this lack of food hygiene could have ended up potentially deadly. I would have given zero stars but obviously I can't. Do not reccomed and I will not be eating here again.

It was quite quiet in there and being one of three tables felt quite empty.Because of the quietness, heating wasn't on so it was quite cold.We had paella for two, and prices exceeded our expectation for this.Good food but needs improvement here and there

I have been here several times and always a great, friendly and efficient service. They are pleased to entertain you if you are celebrating a birthday or special anniversary. I went for my birthday last year and received free shots. I would love to go on a Saturday afternoon for a Sangria in the summer!

Having enjoyed meals at this restaurant in the past I was really looking forward to my takeaway. Sadly I was very disappointed by the lacklustre tapas that were delivered, with one dish so salty it made me nauseous. Also, the food arrived half an hour early, which makes me question how freshly made some of it could have been. Won't be ordering from here again.

We've been there several times, as is our nearest tapas place. We keep on going there because the food is good, wide selection of tapas, prices are reasonable (considering we are in London!) and there is nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I do like this restaurant and have eaten their around 7/8 times over the last few years, I think the food is pretty good and reasonably priced but the service does lack consistency and needs some improvement.

This little tapería is a popular choice for locals. It offers a wide selection of Spanish cuisine at reasonable prices. The food is good but sometimes a bit greasy and overly salty. I, however, would recommend the Gambas al ajillo. An ok place if your only choice.

Owner had no recollection of booking when we arrived but we needn't have booked as there was nobody there when we arrived. The food was a mixed bag. Tortilla and calamari were tasty but prawns were disappointing due to burnt garlic and olives were not up to scratch for £3.45! We were using a tastecard so we were expecting a reasonable final bill. However the owner stuck a 12.5% "optional" service charge onto the unreduced cost of the food which inflated the final Bill from around £40 to almost £50! As the service had been wordless and unremarkable we asked for this to be removed but the owner gave us a tongue-lashing for this, in front of other diners! This aggressive behaviour has been reported by other diners and is an unacceptable way to bully people who may quite reasonably not want to pay an inflated charge on an average meal.

Having driven past a few times, my wife and I decided to give Barcelona a try. We made a booking because we were going on a Saturday evening, but it didn't seem that we needed to - it wasn't that busy. The waiting staff had some difficulty in understanding English and while we both appreciate the authenticity of 'native' staff, they must be able to understand what is being requested of them. A gin and Tonic should not be a trial to order! The decor and ambience of the restaurant was a little bland and cafe-ish, with a preponderance of hard surfaces which did little to soften the chatter of the less subtle conversationalists. We ordered a few tapas dishes, which all turned up at about the same time, but it has to be said that (with the possible exception of the lamb chops, which were good), nothing offered to us was in any way worthy of more than a 'satisfactory'. The wines by the glass were OK for the money, but overall the experience was not one we'll be looking to replicate any time soon.

One-line snapshot:Wide range of good quality authentic tapas with typical Spanish style service to match.More detailed review:After reading all the negative comments from other reviewers I almost decied against this but the wire range of authentic Spanish dishes that aren't as commonly found in tapas bars in London swayed us to give it a go. I'm glad we did as the quality of the food was in fact very good, especially the fiduea negre (squid ink 'short noodle' with mixed seafood, perhaps more of an acquired taste due to the colour of the dish though). The carrilleras (slow cooked Iberico pig cheeks) was tender and flavoursome, the pimientos de padron were extremely tasty with the right balance of savoury from the salt flakes and sweetness of the peppers, and the pulpo a la gallega (Galician style octopus and potatoes with paprika and olive oil) was another dish with good flavour balance. They have a great range of Spanish hams and cheeses too, and don't forget to save some space for the Tarta de Santiago (surprisingly delicious almond tart; a bargain at only £3!)I had noticed that a lot of previous reviewers had mainly been put off by the service but to be honest it was typical Spanish style service (a bit on the slow side and some may say blunt, but nevertheless helpful and friendly enough). As for the 12.5% service charge, I am surprised by the number of people who have commented on it - nowadays, this is an industry par that is to be expected at most restaurants of this level throughout London, whether or not the service is actually as attentive as you may hope for.

I've passed this restaurant many times and decided to visit this evening. We ordered a set meal for 3 people, when a set 2 would have been sufficient for 3 people, the service and the food was good and staff where pleasant. My only gripe is being expected to pay an optional gratuis of around 10% which was automatically added to the total of the bill (without checking this, I would not have realised the extra money on the totall), I'm always generous when tipping, if happy with meal, so this slightly spoiled the evening.

We went on a Monday evening and were the only people in the restaurant and yet the waiter seemed to have some trouble just coping with the one table. The drinks took about 20 minutes to come to us and then the food came in 2 parts because there was not enough room on the table! Another weird thing is the numbering in the menu... 1, 2, 184, 22... very strange and distracting. Also the pricing says 5 3/4. I found the food to be pretty mediocre really - nothing to write home about. Go to Boqueria if you want good Spanish food. This place has some potential but really needs a shake up!

Tried this place with three friends without knowing very much about it. I wish I’d checked. The food was OK – edible, but everything else was simply awful. For a Saturday night it was not busy, but it took forever to get served drinks to start. Then it took forever for the waiter to take our order. When the food started to arrive it was virtually slammed down on the table by an extraordinarily surly waitress with no explanation as to what each dish was – being tapas there were quite a few dishes. We had to ask for the dessert menu. My piece of cake from the dessert cabinet was stale. Drinks had been ordered and never arrived and when the bill finally came, someone else’s beers had been added. To top it all off, there was a large TV within my eye line with football playing. The sound was off, but what I really objected to was during the advert breaks there were graphic shots of bull fighting – which was barbaric to say the least. The manager seemed surprised and unnecessarily argumentative when we asked for the service charge to be removed from our bill. Frankly it was insulting to have put it on there in the first place. Avoid at all costs – I shall certainly never be going back.

It's great to be able to get real restaurant food delivered, I love the croquetas, chorizo al vino, tarte de Santiago & the wine is decent too.

Amazing food, great service, nice spanish decor, without question the best spanish restaurant I've been too! Authentic tapas just like being it barcelona! I have no idea what these other people are complaining about, must be hard to please.. definitely recommend!!

After reading some negative reviews about poor service and below par food, we almost didn't come here. So glad we did!!!! The staff were friendly, the service was wonderful and the food...oh my god the food! Everything we had was delicious! The chorizo was incredible, the mussels were addictive and the selection of cured meats were absolutely fantastic. Two different bottles of white wine, recommended by Romaldo couldn't have complimented the meal better. Ignore the poor reviews and enjoy an amazing evening here! :)

It was a Tuesday evening and apart from one other couple, we were the only diners. I was very disappointed with the food this time. We hadn't visited Barcelona for quite a few years and on this occasion I was taking a friend out for a birthday meal. The management is still the same and the owner is very nice, friendly and the service was good. But the food I would say was below par. The calamaris were rubbery and the batter soggy. The prawns in garlic were OK but nothing special and just the same size as you can buy in a local supermarket. The mixed salad was soggy and we left half of it. The presentation just didn't have that je ne sais quoi. We had a nice bottle of wine, but for over £60 (for two) with no desert or coffee - I wasn't impressed. There was a fresh flower on each of the tables, but a little extra ambience like a candle on the table would also make a difference to the dining experience. I got the impression that the sparkle has gone now. I think they need to up their game and get a new chef!

We waited an hour for our paella. When I asked our waiter if it were on its way, he told me that if we wanted paella sooner, we should have ordered it as soon as we came in. His attitude suggested that it was our fault that we were having to wait. When it finally arrived the food was fine (although not exceptional) and the portions generous.There was no apology, no complimentary olives to keep us going (although we did have bread and olive oil, which we paid for.) I'd checked the menu online before we went out and nowhere did it suggest that we should give an early indication to the waiters if we wanted paella.Then to add injury to insult, there was a demand to pay the service charge which we had accidentally missed when settling the bill. We were a large group, there for a friend's birthday, but I doubt any of us will come back.

This place is like a mosaic conservatory, really cosy and romantic, but also showing the football. The waiter perceptively sat me with my back to the screen and my partner facing the screen! The menu has a wide variety of choices, something for everyone. They also accept the taste card, but you get the cheapest tapas free, so if you pick Patatas Bravas, you're not getting much of a deal. The food was well presented and decent quality, standard tapas. None of the dishes stood out as being unique, although they were all good. We ordered some salt-fish cakes (Bunuelos de Bacalao), which had either a cheese or type of herb that I wasn't a fan of. The meatballs (Albondigas a la Barcelonesa) and chicken (Pollo a la Riojana) dish were the best. The garlic prawns were also good and the waiter helped us with our choices. The house red was decent.

Went there on a late Saturday afternoon after a training session at the nearby Herne Hill Velodrome with my wife and 2 year old daughter. The service and food were excellent as well as the attention given to my daughter. I will definetely visit again to make up for the lost calories on the track!

The variety of tapas dishes available is brilliant and everything we ordered tasted as if it had been home cooked. Delicious! The wine list is excellent value - and the food menu too - with a broad choice available. Would recommend the Black Pudding and Pigs Cheeks. Overall, nice atmosphere, great food, excellent value.

Great décor and layout, this place looked full of potential. The food, however, offered a different story.The tapas was hit and miss, some dishes were ok and others simply didn't taste good. We ordered the house red Rioja, which seemed like it had come straight out of the fridge - ice cold! Unusual for an Andalucian restaurant that promises an authentic experience. Some of the portion sizes relative to the price were also a mystery. We ordered Gambas Al Aljillo and received no more than 5/6 prawns for this 7 GBP dish, which was disappointing given the quality of the dish. Upon feeding this back to the waitress, we watched her report back to the owner who continued to sit at a table playing games on his phone. This is not a cheap and cheerful establishment on Lordship Lane, so the total lack of concern or commitment to the customer service was disappointing. Service was at a bare minimum, so the 10% gratuity automatically added to our bill (as with most places these days), was a bit of a kick in the teeth. Unsurprisingly, we didn't pay this. To end our evening, we were met with a hostile goodbye grunt from the owner as we left. One to avoid!

We have eaten at the Barcelona many times, and have always had delicious food. The service, while not always the speediest in the world, is always friendly and personal. The 2 regular waiters there are unfailingly friendly and helpful. We went the day before NYE and were made to feel most welcome and valued. As for authenticity - you could actually be eating on the Ramblas!

Went for New years eve and what a disappointment. I had prebooked the set nye menu, which included a glass of cava on entry, that didn't happen, the man got confused and gave us the a la carte menu and struggled to understand our requests. Myself and partner waited about 30minutes just to get a drink and that was only after having to ask, after the waiter deserted us. The restaurant was not busy so there was no excuse for the complete lack of service.Everything we wanted from drinks, food to the bill had to be asked for by us, no service appalling. We were couped up onto a tiny table with our plates of tapas resulting in spilling drinks and using the window sill to put things because of the lack of space. We didn't even get to finish the set menu or have our desert , because we had waited so long for our food that we had gone passed hungry and simply wanted to get of of there and enjoy what was left of our nye elsewhere.Over a hundred pound wasted, very unhappy worst nye experience yet.

We chose to celebrate New Year's Eve at Barcelona because, based on our previous visits, the food is excellent and the service good. As well as this, the restaurant, with its Gaudi tiles on the walls, has a nice ambience.Unfortunately this was an experience we want to forget. The tapas dishes were hit and miss. The meat balls were good, the squid okay, but the pimenton padron and morcilla were awful. As for the service, the three young waitresses (employed for the night, I suspect) seemed to have tunnel vision. Having waited ages to attract the eye of one of them to order another glass of rioja, I decided the only way I was going to get this was by going up to the bar. But I don't blame the girls, who seemed to have no experience of waiting on tables. I blame the guy with the beard who was in charge. I watched him bark out orders to the girls every now and again, but he never once came over to our section of the restaurant to ask if everything was okay.Because I've enjoyed the food at Barcelona before, I would go back, but not on a busy night.

I had prebooked the set nye menu, which included a glass of cava on entry, that didn't happen, the man got confused and gave us the a la carte menu and struggled to understand our requests. Myself and partner waited about 30minutes just to get a drink and that was only after having to ask, after the waiter deserted us. We stopped in for Christmas Eve dinner for my traditional paella dinner. The restaurant is moderate size, quaint, a bit cold and drafty, a touch uncomfortable, but I loved it. There is something authentic about it, something special about it. The only problem is the lack of parking.

Some tasty dishes and a cut above your average tapas bar.We had a good suggested menu from the staff and plates were emptied pretty quickly.Not a bad place to pop into.

Food was delicious and was here within 40 minutes. The pig cheeks were fantastic, as were the skewers (or skewer, there was only one unfortunately). Even the wine was good, which is rare for a delivery place. Really good quality all round. My one complaint is they forgot the aioli with the squid, but it was great even on it's own.

Food seemed cooked on the day (not all take aways I have tried did) and very tasty!! maybe a bit pricy...but all in all worth it!

It took three telephone calls to speak to someone who sounded like they cared, and when the food finally turned up, everything was great, except the vegetable paella, which was a bit greasy. Perhaps it was a one off, and while I'm not saying I wouldn't order from them again, and I would probably visit the restaurant, I think that if they're going to offer a delivery service, such a long wait is not particularly professional.

Good option of tapa which came quite swiftly, was enjoyable food.

I don't often write reviews but thought I would as the food was really awful, we only ate about a quarter of our order. Horrible!

We chose to sit outside and it was very pleasant. Our waitress, Andrea, was lovely and really ensured that we enjoyed our lunch. She was very friendly and attentive. It wasn't particularly cheap but it was really tasty and we could not finish what we had ordered. We were the only ones dining and this is a great pity as the food was good.
