Absolutely delicious pasta! We had the kombu pasta as well as the famous "silk handkerchiefs". Super flavourful, served hot and fresh, and service was great as well. Thank you for the experience, we have already recommended this to a few other friends :) P.S. recommend making a reservation in advance via their website. My husband and I sat at the bar counter which gave us a nice view of the chefs preparing the food!

Wonderful place to have fresh pasta at very reasonable pricing in London! This one is located by the entrance of busy Borough market. Ambience was very nice, staff were so efficient and friendly. Mostly, the quality of pasta was a top notch. They make fresh pasta on site and they know how to cook perfect pastas. Handkerchief silk pasta had smooth and creamy texture and had egg on top. Never had anything like that. I loved my spaghetti w chili and garlic. It had spicy kick to it. Bucatini Cacio e Pepe was cooked perfect. Cauliflower salad was very interesting. It was sliced thinly and very tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant when you are in London.

Daniel our waiter was brilliant! He was very sweet and explained the menu and helped us decide what to have amongst allergies. He was very polite and very attentive and just very helpful. The food was lovely - we had carbonara and the ragu and a lovely glass of Gavi. Adore Bancone - have been for years and it’s always such a treat.

The food was excellent, as always, but unfortunately, we were treated quite rudely during our visit. About 40 minutes after we sat down, the bill was brought to our table without us asking for it, which felt very abrupt. On top of that, we were interrupted two or three times by staff asking if we needed anything else, which gave us the impression that we were being rushed to leave. I’ve visited other Bancone locations in London and have never experienced anything like this before. I hope the team at the Borough Yards branch reconsiders how they treat their guests, as this was disappointing.

We tried the signature dish — Silk Handkerchiefs with Walnut Butter and Confit Egg Yolk — along with the Scallop with miso-pickled fennel and a hint of charcoal and chilli. The handmade pasta was delicately smooth and cooked perfectly al dente. The textures and flavors were beautifully balanced. The atmosphere and service added to an already excellent experience. To top it off, the pricing was surprisingly reasonable for the quality. Would definitely come again!

A machine that wishes it were an elite restaurant. They want to get as many people as possible to feel the experience, but in the shuffle, they forget to check on empty glasses, uncleared plates, or bills not yet paid. The service is enthusiastic, but management seems to expect something impossible of its frontline staff. Cheerfulness cannot make up for lack of capacity

Fab place to catch up with some old friends! I often avoid Italian restaurants because the menu always seems to be the same and I could make much of it myself at home. HOWEVER, it was lovely and refreshing to go somewhere that is utilising unique combinations with different ingredients, pasta shapes, and accompaniments than I am not used to seeing. The pasta was also so fresh and well cooked, plus we were seated right next to the chefs which is always lovely to watch. Plus the staff were so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great - really busy on a Thursday evening though I would definitely recommend booking ahead of time. I would 100% go back - in fact I need to because there are a couple of dishes I that we didn't order that I've decided I now need to try!

Took my parents and family here for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. Had a wonderful time, the food was exceptionally good. Our server Nicole was extraordinarily friendly and efficient. She gave us all limoncellos as a congratulatory drink for my parents anniversary. This was a super nice touch and made the whole occasion extra special. Went here for my birthday dinner and had an incredible experience with the meal and most of the staffs. However when we paid, there was already an extra £1 billed for a donation. It wasn’t much and i didn’t really mind as it was my birthday anyways. But I’m new in London so out of curiosity i asked if this can be taken out, and the waitress replied “you can if you REALLY want to. It’s only £1 anyways”. We found that quite rude. Nevertheless, food and atmosphere was amazing.

I’ve been here 4 times for the Handkerchief pasta and I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve had in my life. It’s literally the only food I crave. They had a seasonal one and that was delicious too. Writing this review, I’m booking another meal. They people at the restaurant are also so kind and helpful.

Highly recommend visiting Bancone. The food is incredible but the staff are the stars of the show. Warm and friendly from the moment we arrived, offered menu recommendations and they were super attentive. The food was impeccable. Highly recommend the Gnocchi with sail butter, pumpkin and sage. Soft and pillow bursting with flavour from sauce and oyster mushrooms. For dessert you can't pass up the chocolate mascapone and lime. Rich dense bar of chocolate cake that is to die for.

Bancone is one of my favourite pasta restaurants in London, and this outpost near Borough Market is no different (having previously only visited the Covent Garden location). It is in a large space so has a lot of tables, and it wasn't hard to get a table on a Sunday afternoon. I had the lardo on toast, the pasta with Thai basil and chilli and the fior de latte, all of which were excellent. The food came fairly quickly and the service was friendly.

Busy restaurant with a nice atmosphere on two floors. The service was quick and friendly and they were happy to explain the menu, which wasn't always clear. The food itself was fantastic though we only had bread & olives for starter and two pasta dishes for main - spicy pork ndjua ragu and the Herdwick hogget (lamb) pappardelle. Along with a couple of beers, a Moretti and a Lucky Saint alcohol free. Overall a lovely meal in a nice atmosphere and resonably priced.

Not really much to say about this place. Just an ordinary Italian cuisine restaurant. How wrong can you go with pasta? While the menu is interesting but the food didn't feel exceptional. Loved the service, although a bit delayed service but staff was really nice. Location is fantastic. I don't think I would come back as I wouldn't pay such price again for the pasta dish....

I really enjoyed my dinner last night in Bancone. The waitress was helpful with the choice of meals and very attentive. Only drawback for us was asking to leave when we finished. I understand the restaurant is busy and table was technically booked for a specific time but we were finishing our wine and were leaving soon anyways, didn’t need that push ;) overall I enjoyed it and would definitely come back to this chain.

Still one of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had in London. The silk handkerchiefs with walnut butter and egg yolk was so simple, and would’ve been the last meal I would go for on such a varied and vibrant menu, but as my dining partner was veggie we went for it so we could share. It was incredible, so buttery and rich. There’s more expensive restaurants serving lesser foods, the prices here are definitely worth it.

Wow. We are picky but would give this 6 stars if we could. The pasta is so good we got a second round instead of deserts for the first time ever. Cocktails are absolutely amazing, probably a top 3 bar for me in London alongside Savoy’s bar with £30 cocktail, except here they are priced at £7-15, and better than cocktails at some of Michelin starred restaurants. Will come back again very soon. £65 per person with a starter, two pastas and two cocktails each.

We went there, had dinner and when they asked dessert we said we would have another drink and they brought the bill arguing they had more reservations so we had to leave. We spent a total of 50 minutes there and nobody told us at the beggining that there was a maximum time we could stay in the restaurant. The waiter from south africa got very rude and said that we should have the drinks somewhere else but not there. The food was okey but can’t recommend the place if you want to enjoy dinner without rushing.

Got the Aglio e Olio (they call it Spaghetti alla chitarra) and the Herdwick Hogget and both were delicious. Highly recommend. Portion size could be bigger but it is a reasonably priced place for the quality of food you’re getting. Would recommend for a casual lunch or dinner. Not necessarily for a date night to impress.

We loved watching the talented team working in the kitchen & and also the fried artichoke which was good! I also had Cime di rapa, gnocchetti sardi, broccoli, pickled chilli: this plate had zero cime di rapa in it but just raw broccoli and a greasy soffritto (no extra virgin olive oil). Quite disappointing for such a nice restaurant!! I hope you’ll update the recipe. The quality of the pasta itself was 10/10 though.

As we were a large group, we had the private dining area upstairs, and we had a lot of dishes that we shared. We had the burrata, confit tomato and basil, grilled artichoke, romesco, and chervil. Focaccia, silk handkerchiefs, walnut butter, confit egg yolk, roasted pumpkin ravioli, squid with charcoal tagliolini, and the spicy pork ragu. Every single dish was well cooked and served at a good temperature. The service was attentive and helpful. January 2025 Back to Bancone to enjoy once again their best handmade pasta and it definitely hasn't disappointing us. The service was outstanding, friendly and nothing was too much. We have enjoyed our pasta dishes, so much that we have ordered a third one and shared.

The atmosphere and service were good. The service was very attentive. Great place to eat delicious food and isolate yourself from people for a while. We do not need to make a reservation and they accept Walk-Ins Donkey style pasta with garlic is a great option for those who like something simple but with a lot of flavor. The price is fair, just the portions were small I recommend the burrata and the cacio e pepe pasta. If you are looking to eat late, they have lunch after 3pm, so it is a good option compared to other options nearby that close the kitchen until dinner. They have cocktails and wines from Italy, however I consider that they are a little overpriced compared to what can be found for better value in the area. Highly recommended and ideal for a family environment or with a partner. You can eat at the bar which makes it entertaining if you are looking for a fun experience.

We stumbled upon this cute little restaurant on a busy Saturday night. It was packed but the hostess got us seated upstairs within 5m. Me and my finance had the cauliflower salad, artichoke, scallops with charcoal spaghetti, spicy sausage ragu. The ingredients were super high end, we got served by Benjamin. We really loved talking to Benjamin. His service was incredible. Quick, friendly, efficient and fun. Thank you Ben! We will definitely be coming back!! I had a horrible experience today when I wanted to order a cannolo without candied orange. The manager said they would not serve me the cannolo without the candied orange as their policy does not allow to make any changes to the dishes out of respect for their chefs. I am so sorry but ordering a cannolo without those 6 pieces of candied orange on top is not swapping the ingredients or making significant changes to the dish. I was also told I could just get the cannolo as it comes and they would “allow me to take off the candied orange myself” 🤣. So I did! but in current times when there is a huge food waste and sustainability awareness movement I simply cannot justify their policy. Bancone used to be my favourite restaurant and I recommended it to all my friends but clearly they do not care about their customers so I will definitely not be dining at their branches again. The only positive experience was the waitress whose customer service and attentiveness was amazing and she was the only reason why I have not asked to take the “optional service charge” off my bill because she really earned it. I have attached pictures of such candied orange before and after I have taken them off the cannolo myself for reference.

Had a lovely pre-theatre dinner here. Sat at the counter (single diner) and watched the kitchen. It was a finely tuned production, maybe even better than the show I saw later that night. And when I threw a kink in the works (accidentally broke a wine glass over the top of the counter), the team didn't lose a moment. Swept in, cleaned up, brought me a new glass, and kept the pace going without breaking stride. Kudos to Chef and his team.

Up there with the best meals I’ve ever eaten, certainly the best pasta I’ve ever had. Very well balanced dishes, lardo toast with truffled honey was the perfect match of sweet and salty, scallop pasta with miso and pickled fennel perfectly matched the richness of the sauce with the sharp notes from the pickled fennel and the combination of savoury, earthy olive oil alongside slightly sweet ice cream and oat crumble for the dessert was the perfect way to end. One of the best pastas I've eaten in my life! I was here with my girlfriend and her parents just before Christmas. The starter was very tasty and the main courses were so delicious that we skipped dessert and ate 2 main courses. The homemade Negronis are also recommended! We will definitely come back to London to eat here!

We found Bancone and were very lucky. The place is really cool. Everyone was very friendly. We ordered food based on the waiter's recommendations and everything was delicious. Congratulations. I highly recommend it.

Delicious pastas and wonderful service - we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and were well taken care by Nicole who gave us great suggestions - we got the handkerchief pasta, the scallop and miso pasta and the Herdwick hogget pappardelle and they were all so unique and tasty. Dont forget the dessert - the Fior di latte - my only regret is having to share it with my family!

Like many restaurants around Borough Market, it's in a large railway arch, which has been beautifully fitted-out, with the bar and kitchen down one side. The food is as good as I remember the food in the "original" Bancone (by the Chandos in Covent Garden) being. For the quality of food, service and atmosphere, it's reasonably priced and there are some good wines for around £35 a bottle.

Excellent food and really great service. Lovely choice of dishes and brilliant team. Funny and they know what to suggest. Drinks were good. Delicious food and great experience dining here. I also need to say a huge THANK YOU to the manager who found my lost bag, held onto it and managed to contact me… I cannot thank her enough for this kindness. Seriously grateful. It shows how lovely and professional the team at this great restaurant are. Thank you Bancone

Absolutely amazing dinner, had a choice of 3 pastas and was more than enough. The taste of the food and drinks were really good and our server Benjamin was very pleasant and nice. Us as a couple, we are not so difficult with food as both of us work in hospitality but we really appreciate your service and care of guests.

Tried Bancone and had the silk handkerchiefs and pickled chilli pasta. The food was alright, I’d say around 3.5 to 4 stars. But we were not thrilled to see a £1 charity donation added to our bill without a heads-up. That the donation would be added was not highlighted on the menu. We were asked if we wanted to split the bill but not if we wanted to give a donation and it was automatically added. We got it removed in the end, but it felt a bit sneaky. Gift aid should be claimed by the individual giving the donation, not the organisation collecting it

You’ll eat what you’re given! I went as part of a group of 8 ( I didn’t book) For this many people you have to have a set menu- no veering from the path. Too much tomato bread padding out the meal. The cod was very nice. The chips were from a frozen bag. The pudding was a large crème caramel to share for the table. Not everyone’s favourite but the server was adamant and not particularly pleasant about it. We ended up ordering extra puddings at extra cost. I won’t be rushing back

It was my second time there and I can say it was a mistake to go there. These are the worst tapas I’ve ever had. Most of the food looks and rates as if it’s straight from a can. Do not go there!
