We had a lovely dinner as first time visitors. The venue was nice looking and presentable, matching the aesthetics of the area. Menu wise, they go for quality over quantity. They do one thing and they do it right. The food tasted amazing, and the pasta stole the show. They give a lovely hand drawn birthday card. You defiantly get your money’s worth. Can’t leave service behind, as everyone was very caring, spiritual and enjoyable to interact with. Big thank you to Benjamin for taking care of us. We will definitely be back.

The food was good, and portions were manageable. What we didn't like were: * no provision for any celebration of a birthday event. We had to buy a dessert to do this. Understandable if the restaurant had to scrimp every cent, but not a nice response when we ask. * no provision to pack the food that could not be consumed. This leads to unnecessary food waste. I would wonder why this is the case, that a restaurant would not encourage responsibility toward reducing food wastage. Other than one staff, most other staff's service we encountered can only be described as "non-warm".

Lots of options for vegetarians, great service and very pretty interior however food was quite average. I ordered chard and chilli pasta + some sides. Pasta lacked some flavour that you would expect from a restaurant dish, and tasted a bit like a regular pesto pasta. The same happened with the sides - artichoke served on a Romano sauce was a bit too oily and not have any flavour in itself. However you can’t complain about the prices :)

Food here is delicious and so reasonably priced for the portion sizes. We had great service too, super attentive, helpful and friendly staff which made a world of difference. Our 4 stars for the atmosphere was purely because we found the restaurant to be uncomfortably hot. The air con was off and it was really stuffy and warm. We were grateful for the fresh air when we eventually left.

Went on a Sunday 1pm for a lunch with two others pre booked however they were taking some walk ins. They were fairly busy but there was enough staff and we were served frequently and politely. I had the cauli salad for starters which was very nice and the other two shared a burrata and focaccia which was also lovely. They used to serve a cod’s roe dish which was fantastic but sadly not on the menu anymore and th starter selection wasn’t great. For mains I had the scallop miso tagliolini which was good but very rich but for £17 only five or six slices of scallop really isn’t a lot at all. The pasta was nicely cooked and the sauce was good too. The rest of the table had the gnocchi and the pork nduja which was also good. Good value but not a massively memorable dinner so not five stars quality. The restaurant was a good size with good spacing between tables but being in a railway arch it was prone to echos which wasn’t helped by the volume of the dance music being played. A real irritation alongside a decent lunch.

This is another one of those instagrammable restaurants that provide pretty food, but which lacks in every other department. I was recommended this place and was hoping that it would be as good as they made it look on paper but pasta dishes that left you dissapointed, along with dreadful service is not really my idea of a good meal out. When compared with the likes of Cafe Murano or Manteca, you would be best served by going to those for better food, better service and a better quality slice of hospitality, not just a transactional meal by a high end Bella Pasta.

Overall it's a nice restaurant with good quality cooking and I'll probably go back there. The starters were excellent, we had the cauliflower salad, the burrata and the focaccia bread. Nice flavours and textures in everything. The mains had good quality ingredients and cooking, but I personally wasn't a fan of the miso in the scallop pasta (it gave a weird oiliness to the dish) although the other ingredients in the dish were nice. The cacio e Pepe was decent but nothing to write home about. The service differed between the three staff members who served us- two staff members were very friendly and welcoming, and the other staff member was quite deadpan and expressionless, although he wasn't impolite in any way.

My friends and I enjoyed a delightful dinner at Bancone; the restaurant is beautiful, the service attentive, and the food delicious. We shared some starters and five pasta dishes between the three of us - the Silk Handkerchiefs are a particular stand-out. The restaurant's layout is inviting, with bar seats and an open kitchen, and soft lighting and a lot of greenery. If you're looking for white wine, the Sicilian Zibibbo (£42) is a very soft and light glass that went well with everything. Avoid the La Segreta Sicilian (£39) though; a vinegary screw-top that lacked character. You'll have a fun dinner at Bancone, I recommend it highly.

A breath of fresh air when it comes to Italian cuisine in London! The food here is fantastic and absolutely delicious. I was a bit sceptical at first when booking thinking it would be the same old flavours with no creativity but after trying the first few dishes I was very happy to be proven wrong. The dishes are still Italian at the core but with touches of flavour creativity and bringing rustic Italian food into the modern age. The fried artichoke with romesco was the best dish for me, so much flavour and just moorish and the borlotti bean ravioli just blew me away, what a dish! Definitely order two of these if you have room. For dessert, I would highly recommend trying the coffee crème caramello with toasted buckwheat, such a creative dish and loved the flavours (not too sweet or heavy). The staff were great and the service was decent, some waiting time between dishes but not so much to complain about (this was lunchtime slot). The prices are really good for this level of cooking and location, so I highly recommend booking! Now one of my top Italian restaurants in London.

Absolutely gutted by my experience at this place. While the food is great, the overall service leaves much to be desired. The restaurant has a maximum seating time of 1 hour 45 minutes, which is fair and understandable. However, within a short period after being seated, more than three staff members approached my table to remind me that our time was limited until 7:45pm. A single reminder would suffice, but three times felt excessive and intrusive. Furthermore, just 30 minutes into our meal, a staff member brought the bill and card machine to our table without us requesting it. This action felt rushed and unprofessional, as if they were trying to push us out the door. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience, I would not recommend this place. The service was absolutely frustrating and detracted significantly from the enjoyment of the meal.

Once again one of my favourite pasta chains in London. The staff were very fun and welcoming. The appetiser, lardo on toast with truffle honey, was a slight letdown but thankfully didn't reflect the quality of the mains. Their signature silk handkerchiefs still delivered, and we also thoroughly enjoyed the charcoal tagliolini with scallops. I will note that the latter only contained 1.5 scallops (we sat in front of the scallop station), which is less than what I would've anticipated for £17.

When I went to Bancone Borough yards , I ordered the burrata , gnocchi , silk handkerchief pasta and the cacio e Pepe pasta. Starting with the burrata, it was okay, had a weird sour taste that I’ve never experienced with the hundreds of other burratas I’ve had in my life. Regarding the pasta, the cacio e Pepe was amazing but the gnocchi was very very average and the silk handkerchief was not as good in comparison to when I first tried it at the other branch. I’ve been to a different Bancone branch before and thought the food and experience was decent, hence why I came again to the Borough Yards branch, it’s safe to say that I will not be coming back. They have a sneaky way of handling things, I saw a different review where a customer had asked for tap water and was given the “filtered” water that you had to pay for. Same thing happened to me, they asked if I wanted water to which I said yes to but no one specified still, sparkling or tap which is something you’re supposed to do. The water that was given was in a bottle that looked like it was tap water , not bottled water hence why I thought it was free. When asking for more water, I asked for more “tap water” to which the water then explained we were drinking their ‘distilled’ water…. I wasn’t sure if asking for a refill of the ‘distilled’ water would charge us again so I asked for tap water. Turns out the distilled water I was already charged for was unlimited so why did the waiter not bother to tell me that?? Absolute joke to be honest. To make things worse, my friend was not feeling well and left half the gnocchi and silk handkerchief pasta so she asked for a takeaway box only to be told by the waiter that they don’t allow people to take their food back…. I guess this is a restaurant that supports food waste clearly. This restaurant isn’t necessarily cheap plus you’d think all the money they make by cheekily charging people for distilled water that they’d be able to afford some sustainable takeaway boxes for their customers… but no. Overall, extremely disappointing.

Just when you thought there wasn’t enough space to launch another pasta restaurant in central London, think again because here comes Bancone SE1. (There are a few other branches in London). Set in the arches of Borough Yards, it’s a little gem. I guess it’s in competition with Padella on the other side of Borough Market - and wins because there are no stupid, app booking queues and self important staff giving you a hard time for daring to ask if there’s a free table. Just saying. However, back to the matter in hand. There was a chap making fresh pasta in the front window - always a good sign. We sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen. What a calm, coordinated operation they’re running. A sous chef prepping ingredients, a chef cooking the pasta and sauces, and the head chef expertly finishing the dishes at the pass. It was great to see the chef taste and season the sauces before they reached the pass - another good sign (even though Bancone undoubtedly has a formula for creating consistent dishes, there’s no cooking by numbers here). We were on a schedule so didn’t stay for a big lunch. We ordered ‘silk handkerchiefs’ - folded layers of pasta, with a confit egg yolk and walnuts. Silky finish and the pasta cooked al dente. Also, chicken liver, brandy and peppercorn pasta. Winner. A couple of Proseccos and a glass of house white completed the gig. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful interior, fresh pasta dishes well prepared and good prices makes Bancone well worth a visit.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent dining experience at your establishment. While the food was of satisfactory quality, several issues regarding charges and service have left me deeply disappointed. Firstly, we were informed that croutons would be offered with our meal, only to find a £2.50 charge for them on the bill. This was unexpected and contrary to what we were initially told. Additionally, despite requesting tap water, we were charged £2 per glass due to your water filter. This charge was not disclosed to us beforehand and is quite frankly unreasonable. Overall, for two people, we ended up paying £50 each for a plate of pasta, a glass of wine, and a shared burrata. This pricing is excessively high considering the additional unexpected charges. I believe this situation is unacceptable and warrants immediate attention. Not worth it

At Bancone Borough Yard in London, I recently experienced a textural masterpiece: the silk handkerchiefs with walnut butter and confit egg yolk. It transcends mere pasta. . The pasta is unbelievably thin and light, like delicate handkerchiefs draped across your plate. But don't let its fragility fool you – it's perfectly cooked, offering a delightful bite that dissolves on your tongue. Then comes the walnut butter. Rich, nutty, and perfectly smooth, it coats the pasta in a luxurious blanket of flavor. Yet, there's more! The crowning glory is the confit egg yolk. Slow-cooked to creamy perfection, it bursts open with each bite, releasing a wave of sunshine-y goodness that elevates the entire dish. This isn't just a flavor combination; it's a textural symphony. The delicate pasta contrasts beautifully with the richness of the sauce, and the creamy yolk adds a decadent touch. It's a dish that keeps you guessing with every mouthful – a true revelation.

Stooped off for a drink or two and to shade ourselves from the sun. The place is very trendy but our waitress Joanna made all the difference. Always smiling and checking in on us. Makes all the difference when you get extra special service.

Excellent food and service. Although I think the portions could be larger for the price. It's the only thing I find bad. If not, in general it is a very good flavor. The meat was excellent.

First of all, a good word about the professional and super nice waitress, whose name I unfortunately forgot, who served us and made the whole experience extremely positive. The food was very tasty except for the focaccia which was a bit dry. The homemade pasta is delicious and the ingredients are very high quality. 5 stars from me

The portions were very small and my food was so salty I had a horrible stomach ache just minutes after finishing. The selection was also very limited.

They have most plates as "for 2" and charge accordingly. No way... portions are single and incorrectly presented as for 2. The cod (only one piece) with some mash potato, was priced £39. Comparable (or even better) restaurants would charge a single portion far less. And in fact, it was the equivalent of a single portion. The rice dish came into a large paella and it looked huge, but in reality was a thin layer of rice, even difficult to scoop, barely for one person ands priced £25... a single dish of rice, it'd be priced no more than £15 in a top London restaurant. I do not recommend. Service was ok, nice waitress doing her best, but food was overpriced and not so tasty, the cod for example was rather tasteless.

Nice place for food, thought the effort made with the addition of black truffle was a bit ridiculous, made it seem as if they had the ingredient kept under lock and key and only brought it out on very special occasions, overhyped nonsense. But otherwise the food was very nice, staff were friendly although seemingly somewhat micro managed.

The food quality and quantity was very disappointing for the price we paid. The meat cheese board had small portions, I am Spanish and the cheese was not interesting or good, not to mention the meat… The bravas were a ridiculous size that you can easily get for free everywhere in Spain ( or for less than 3 quid honestly) It’s quite sad because it doesn’t portray what I understand as Spanish food. In Spain, we are more generous with the portions and the quality of the product. I won’t go back

Deliciosa casa especial de hamburguesa "Spanglish", comer con papas fritas, papas fritas halloumi y croquetas. Es una versión interesante de la comida española / inglesa y muy buena también. Fantástico valor.
