Popped in here twice in one day, husband had a cooked breakfast and coffee. Tasty and filling he said & generous portions. Food very fresh and cooked well. Service very good, can get busy but always looked after and we didn't have to wait long for our food despite it being busy. Staff knew I'd been in for an op over at Guys earlier and were lovely when we popped back in so I could have a bite to eat. Varied menu, liqueur license too so a glass of something if you fancy it is possible. Will go there again definitely :) Welcoming atmosphere and all the staff friendly :)

I work in front of this little cafe. At lunch time is always very crowded so i decided to give it a try even if the smell of food from the entrance was not properly appealing. Well, what i discovered is that the name is the only Italian thing in this place. The food is totally english style, with tons of garlic and weird combinations like spaghetti with cutlet and tomato. The service was awful, rude and disorganised. They didn't have half of the food shown in the menu. I've never been back again and never will do.

Food remains gorgeous ( so much temptation). Fed up with Mcdonald's ?...Come here!!! Tired of Starbucks ( with their lack of stars and quite a few bucks}? ...come here!!! Read about this place before we visited the Shard, we did the usual things and checked out the restaurants at the shard both when we were there and on trip advisor......my god, some of them charge an arm and a leg for food and service that dosnt get much of a mention. 100 yards along the road is this place, what a find indeed, absolutely buzzing and full of diners and noise and hustle and bustle......and once we got a seat, well the food was amazing, my wifes baked potato was huge and all served with a smile amongst the lunchtime "takeaways". This made a perfect day. So much better than being sat in a stuffy restaurant. If we are up there again you will have 2 more for lunch. So pleased we took trip advisor choice on this

We (myself, my mum in a wheelchair and my 2 young daughters) stumbled upon Spiazzo by chance. We planned on visiting Lang in the Shangri La after taking a trip up the Shard. The Lang was full and we were told to wait in the reception area for an undetermined amount of time. We passed and headed to Starbucks. Full again. So we continued walking. On first appearances Spiazzo also looked full, but they came to us to say they would fit us in. We're so glad they did, what a gem! The lady who served us (the owner?) was very helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Spiazzo and we will definitely visit it again!

for me, a bacon buttie for the other half and two full English breakfasts for the growing, foraging always hungry, twenty some things. We popped in here during an absolute biblical downpour as Borough Market was closed. My partner and I had eaten here a couple of times before and as we'd had exceptional sandwich's on those occasions, we ordered the same again. And it didn't disappoint. I sneaked at look at the two Full English Breakfasts and drooled, wishing that my partner had not got me on an enforced diet. The service here is functional but friendly. It's a busy place and the only waitress on the floor needed to be quick and accurate. We didn't help; four people, soaked to the skin, trying to decide what to have, caused a bit of confusion and scribbled pads, but she sorted it and all delivered promptly and correctly. This place is busy and very noisy, but it's a typical caf'e except where the food is concerned. The furniture is functional and at least the tables are wiped, unlike some I've visited. The food displays are a picture and the food is very very tasty. And the coffee is excellent.

We were early for our View from the Shard trip and were advised to try Spiazzo just round the corner. Although it was busy there were a few tables available and no sooner had we sat down than a waitress was there to let us have a menu. The staff were efficient, helpful and cheerful. The place was clean. The food was good in quality, quantity and value and from the lists on all the walls it almost looked as if literally anything/everything was available. When we had finished and asked for the bill, the waitress did not have to go and find a till but knew just what we had and how much was to pay. A nice touch.Spiazzo's is a combination of good cafe with an Italian attitude and, needless to say, the coffee was much better than the competition a couple of doors away. There are even tables and chairs outside if you really want to sit on the edge of a rather busy street.Worth remembering.

I am a frequent visitor to London as my wife is undergoing treatment at Guy's Hospital. I am from Gibraltar. This little restaurant not only offers a wide variety of pasta and rice dishes, it also offers 'food in a bun' for those who are rushed for time. I go there for lunch every day and I do not need to repeat the same plate every time as there is great menu to choose from. If you have visited the Shard and want food close by, by-pass Starbucks, ignore McDonalds and walk round the corner to this placeIndoor and outdoor tables, indoors modern, funky but accessible Italian Deli chicService-wise they made life perfect for my 95 year old Mum who then proceeded to hoover up the delicious chicken bacon and avocado salad washed down with a peach, mango and banana smoothieThe Peri-Peri Chicken salad was undoubtedly the most imaginative salad I have ever experienced either here or in America, where they are usually rather good at them. Imbued with intriguing pickled vegetables – giardiniari I think they were called -any further dressing would have been almost redundant. A welter of contrasting textures – and king size into the bargain.2 salads 2 smoothies £19.40 – even the bill was handwritten! The only qualm was rather too many portraits of Wayne Rooney among the many wall photos – and maybe a couple of tables too many for comfort. But this quibbling is outweighed by A1 service, food and pricing. My kinda place – check it out
