Sabor Peruano in Southwark

The food is incredible. Get the fish ceviche - picante. The sauce has an incredible flavour and heat. All the sides and starters were delicious; tamales, yuca fries, fried plantain - again an amazing green chili sauce. The portions are very generous - I was fully satisfied but still had a plateful of fish to eat. Pisco sours were delicious. We'll be coming back again and again. The ambience was set off with some beautiful afro Peruvian music. The service was friendly and efficient. 10 out of 10.

We have visited Sabor Peruano few times and each time we were not disappointed, the owners are nice and friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere with the Peruvian music in the background makes you feel like you are really in Peru , the only downside is that it's located far from us 😃 but it's totally worth to make a trip once in a while.

Such a great restaurant - ignore that the exterior is a little shabby; the food is absolutely fantastic and the service / staff make an great atmosphere. We went with kids + grandparents and they catered for everyone perfectly.

Simply the best ceviche in London by a long way, extremely authentic, generous and always prepared to perfection. I love this restaurant, run by a very kind and gracious husband and wife duo, with genuine, warm Peruvian hospitality. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Family restaurant, close attention, homemade Peruvian food with a lot of flavor. The off-menu dishes are dishes that you will not find in any other restaurant that are worth trying, such as the chicken escabeche. The anticuchos are just right and with a lot of flavor. All the ingredients in the dishes had balance. We hope to return soon

My wife is Peruvian and we have tried most restaurants in London but Sabor is certainly the best at decent prices. My eldest daughter is addicted to Ceviche and often visits to get her 'fix'! so be sure you ask for Ceviche before it all runs out :)

I am Peruvian , and if you want to try real Peruvian food go to this place. It's a typical Peruvian neighborhood restaurant. Not pretentious, no fusion food, just the real stuff. Great anticuchos, good ceviche, excellent pisco sour and they even have picarones for dessert !

An authentic site with excellent customer service. Chicken rice is my favorite, even better than my father's. The picarones are also delicious, perfect to finish the meal. I recommend it 1000%.

I am Peruvian, and I been trying different restaurants in search for the perfect Peruvian cuisine and I found it! This is the most delicious and authentic food from all expensive restaurants I’ve tried in London and it’s so affordable! Will be coming back soon with more people. 🇵🇪

Delicious Lomo Saltado is well worth it, the dish is generous and has a very good flavor, and I loved the hospitality of the person who serves it. At least someone who speaks Spanish in this city makes you feel a little warm.

I'm constantly amazed there's not queues around the block for this incredible restaurant in Elephant. It serves the only authentic Peruvian food I've found in London and is of a consistently high quality. I've been 4 times now with different family members and everyone has been back. The owners are very charming too. Don't judge by its outside appearance - give it a go.

We felt like we were in a typical Peruvian picanteria, the food was very tasty and the owners were very nice. The green sauce is great. Even our daughter tried Peruvian anticuchos for the first time and loved it.

Warm and friendly welcome in this very authentic, simple and affordable restaurant. The pisco sours are estupendo, the ceviche utterly delicious and everything else we’ve tried on 2 separate visits has been excellent. Neither the restaurant nor the neighbourhood are especially fancy, but I almost love it more for that very reason. A hidden gem!

A hidden gem. I went with 2 friends, one had the lunchtime menu which was incredible value for money! I had ceviche which was fresh and delish! And the other had a chicken and rice dish which she savoured. The owner was so attentive and caring. The place is clean, it isn't an Instagram place but it's authentic and genuine - a rarity in London.

Absolutely incredible food served by such friendly staff. Went with a group of friends who have travelled in Peru and they agreed that the food was genuinely authentic and absolutely delicious. Definitely get the ceviche, it was so fresh, flavorful and perfectly balanced. Try the beef hearts as a starter, they were unexpectedly amazing and tender. I will rave about this place to anyone who will listen. It doesn't look much from the outside but it's definitely worth a visit.

I am from Chile, where Peruvian gastronomy is very popular. I know what a good pisco sour is and how flavorful the food is. Despite the fact that this place was attended by Peruvians, I cannot say that you will find the flavors of that amazing country here. The food had just a few seasonings (we tried the ají de gallina and the lomo a la huancaína dishes), and the pisco sour was pure sugar, with no pisco flavor. I would not recommend eating at this place.

Situated off the main road in elephant in castle by the tube station, this place doesn't look like much from the outside. I would have walked past it many times without noticing it, wedged in between some corner shops. But good lord am I glad my friend recommended it to me. The people running this place are lovely. The servers (who I think we're the owners), we're pleasant, jovial and attended to us quickly. The food was divine. Lime infused fish, with an assortment of sides including salads, corn, and what I think were plantain chips (crisps). Lots of spice. Lots of flavour. Reminded me a lot of Thai food with a balance of sweet, sour and spice! Worth a visit, send then some love!

This is what a mom & pop Peruvian restaurant looks and taste like. We were in town from the states and wanted to eat Peruvian food on July 28. Stopped in and was blown away, the lomo saltado was all world good in flavor. The seco was slamming. But the traditional ceviche was as authentic as it gets. Stop in if you want actual Peruvian food.

It's a restaurant with no fancy trimmings but don't let that put you off. the food speaks for itself and the service is great. Don't miss out, give them a try.

Food was good and authentic. Portions could have been bigger. The Arroz con Pollo was spectacular. Beef and chicken dishes are better here. Ernesto the head water is a real character and a cracker! We will definitely be coming back. Recommended!

Awful experience. I didn’t like absolutely nothing about this place. Dishes were poor of quality, small portions and incredibly expensive. You can eat much better in the Colombian restaurants around this area. The lady that served us was smart enough not to ask if we enjoyed the food. Don’t come to this place!
