We love coming to Trivet, despite having 2 Michelin stars, it is not the kind of restaurant that you need to sit through starter, main and dessert or 14 courses of tasting menu. We actually enjoy coming to the terrace, have a bottle of wine, order one or two dishes. It is perfect when the weather is nice, to sit on the outside terrace away from the hustle and bustle of London Bridge.

Starter and main dishes were both great. Dessert was rather weak; Hokkaido potato was dry, not flaky at all, and the sake ice cream fell apart when the dish landed on the table, and canele was mediocre, leaving a bad impression at the end of the meal. However, the complimentary petit four macaroons were light and fragrant. The green tea order was forgotten, and I had to ask for a follow-up. Having said that, there were plenty of staff in the dinign area (always walking around close to be annoying really) so I suspect no one was assigned to a specific table to ensure the order was fulfilled.

Exceedingly good food paired with interesting and approachable wines. The menu changes frequently but the sea bream and the morels were real stand outs. Be sure to get bread because the sauces here deserve to have every drop eaten and it’s hard to do with just a fork !

Never been to a more relaxed 2 Michelin star restaurant. But make no mistake: it might look and feel low key, they do most certainly not fool around. The concept is a breeze of fresh air: 6 à la carte entrees, 6 mains and 6 deserts. No fix 6 or 7 course meals. No wine pairings (although the sommelier might be one of the most knowledgeable we’ve ever met). Just very good cocktails, extremely well executed plates and a winelist to die for. You want fries as a side dish? You get fries. Wines by the glass? Not a problem at all. We want more of these places!

Fantastic meal at this small restaurant off Bermondsey near Borough market. service was knowledgeable and warm. Food was fantastic! The sommelier was quite knowledgeable, refraining from recommending the most expensive items on the wine list, and focusing on options that appropriately matched the food and tastes of the diner. Monkfish was very tasty, not overdone and accompanied by a very delicate sauce. Overall very fulfilling and nice experience.

This is a very popular and busy restaurant. Hence, service and attention may be a bit overlooked. We were seated at a very nice high table (next to bar area) with stools by the window side. It almost feels like having our private little corner but that also means that its very difficult to grasp the attention of the staff. We had the Mangalitza shoulder ham, which was nice especially to be paired with the vintage Bordeaux we chose. Main courses included the monkfish and the venison (which was also cooked the way I requested). Nice chips too (with the onion ketchup). Broccoli servings portion was a bit small though. The food was nice but I must say the overall service level did affect the mood somehow. At this price level and star status, I'd probably expect a bit more satisfaction.

Strangely lunch at Trivet was not memorable in terms of the food experience but all that stood out were the big portions. The menu from mains to dessert were quite difficult to choose as it was some what quite different. I think made a mistake with my choice because looking back, the Sweetbread is probably the star of the show but if you order the lunch items, portions are big.

We dropped in for an impromptu lunch and had a fantastic combination of elevated comfort food - maybe the best chicken wings ever, a tongue bun that blew us away and some fine dining dishes - hake & cuttlefish and bitter leaf salad that were faultless. What we particularly enjoyed was the ability to pick and mix exactly what we wanted from the lunch and main menu. Our waiter was amazing and really knowledgeable and the sommelier found a perfect glass of wine for my taste. Don’t miss out on the butter tart - it’s sinfully good. The two Michelin stars are well deserved and unlike some places of this level, everything was relaxed which only increased the enjoyment.

My son selected this restaurant for his 40th birthday. There were four of us. Atmosphere was similar to McDonald’s. It was cold, despite us asking for the temp to be raised, and very noisy. The GPlan furniture reminded me of living in an army married quarter. One shabbily dressed diner had his laptop on the table so that he could entertain himself. Food was limited in choices. My wife can’t eat anything with small seeds, such as tomatoes, strawberries and figs. This was pointed out to the waiter but he didn’t mention that the focaccia had small seeds when he served it. The sweetbreads were tasty but the rest of the food on the plate was undistinguishable. It was all contained in the sauce. The fries were mediocre at best and they, along with everything else that we were served, was just warm. £30 for a small bowl of mash? £30 for a125ml glass of wine? £45 for a spaghetti and small lobster tail starter. They are taking the Mickey. The service was slow, extra butter for the bread took 25 minutes to arrive, and then it was frozen. We had to ask for the empty plates to be removed to make space on the table for our main sides.

Fine dining in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere - I can see why this place has 2 stars as the service was impeccable, and we felt so well looked after. We loved that there was no tasting menu, which meant a more streamlined experience without the long 4-hour sitting. Service was smooth and efficient throughout. 👌 The drunken lobster and roast pigeon were standouts - absolutely delicious. ⭐️ While the Hokkaido potato is a popular choice, we found it slightly underwhelming. Overall I’d 100% recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

45 quid for half a lobster tail, and pasta that had a store bought texture rather than the silkiness you should get from fresh made, in a super salty broth that I had to send it back...is this a joke? Not sure why people are rating it so highly, I would be embarrassed to serve this food at this price. For reference, a whole lobster tail is 6.99 in Waitrose so not sure where they get off charging so much for a measly half. Mackerel and John Dory were just ok. Better food to be had elsewhere nearby for less

Lunch on Saturday with tip top service and amazing food and wine. Particularly loved the grilled sweetbread and the squab pigeon. A very relaxed vibe for a 2 Michelin star restaurant. No set chef's menu or wine flight extravaganza here. My only criticism was the noise level was on the high side, no due to the absence of sound reducing carpeting & curtains. If I didn’t know this was a Michelin 2* restaurant, I would have thought the food perfectly pleasant. However, I can’t for the life of me work out how this restaurant even got one star, let alone two. Let’s start with the positives. The staff are lovely and friendly and the service is great. The wine list is awesome and the staff are very knowledgeable about which wines go best with the different dishes. The bread and butter is delicious, especially the homemade focaccia. The sweetbread starter was nice and tasty but very vinegary. However, the lamb main was mediocre at best. It costs about 50 pounds but you only get about three small bites of lamb from three very tiny chops. They were mostly fat but not edible fat - instead of being melt-in-the-mouth, it was chewy and rubbery and inedible. The smoked aubergine on the side was very bland. Also the beetroot and “ricotta” side was burnt black to a crisp and the fries were limp and tasteless. The Hokkaido potato dessert was pleasant enough but far too heavy to be a Michelin * dessert - more the kind of thing you would have with a cup of tea in the afternoon. I think this place would be a really nice wine bar. The fact that it was about two thirds empty at 7pm on a Saturday also speaks volumes. They are obviously very well connected with the Michelin critics and I hope they find their niche but they are really not deserving of a Michelin star. Sorry. I really wanted to be wowed but I’ve eaten at so many amazing restaurants around the world to know that this isn’t it… yet.

Firstly, the great things. Amazing staff, fabulous sommelier and wine recommendations. All worthy of a 3 star Michelin establishment. However, the food was not their strong point. We started with a crudo where the chilli was so powerful that it destroyed our taste buds and any views about other dishes must be taken with a pinch of salt. How was this dish allowed out of the kitchen? With a good chef, this place could be world class. I will say that if the food here is 2 star, then Sola, where I went 2 days before, is 20 star. And Killiecrankie House would be 30 star!!!

This is a review of the La Bombe Mondays experience which I have done a few times now. Incredible deal where you get a good wine by the glass selection with Jonny Lake food! The Hot Tongue bun is an eternal favorite (also on the lunch menu) - it’s rich and decadent! Also recommend the Lobster Roll, focaccia and the chicken mains. We opted for the gelatos which were some of the best we have ever had… albeit missed the ingenious Hokkaido potato dessert (on the main dining menu)… the Mondays have a very casual, approachable vibe and an excellent evening!

I did almost no research before reserving my table at Trivet well in advance of my visit. I was planning a long trip to London and just used good reviews to decide where I was going to splurge on a great meal. Upon my arrival in London I took a look at their site and was astonished/embarrassed to see that they had 2 Michelin stars! I saw their site stated that the restaurant was informal but I was still nervous; I had no decent clothes to wear. Once I got to Trivet for my reservation I was greeted warmly and shown a great time. I make my own sourdough at home with fresh milled grain and I was blown away by the sourdough they brought me. It was very dark but still had a great spring and chew. The lamb I had was cooked extremely well and the various tastes they served with it were all very complementary but in unique ways. My dessert blew me away. All the textures worked well together and the flavors were great! The black olive caramel really worked well. A visit to remember for sure!

In short, modern cuisine with a little Asian touch. If you are Asian I guess you can skip. Maybe inspired for others but not for Asian. Food ingredients are fresh, the chicken and duck are of best quality. However the sauce is too strong that takeover the umami of the meat. Recommended to not only focus on the depth and complexity of the sauce but also to give them a better balance. Dessert is a disaster that either too sweet (the level that can cause diabetes) or nth special at all. The wine is good tho. For this price, around 180 gbp per person, suggesting you sincerely to get something else given after all it’s not a degustation menu but just a 3/4 course dinner.

Nice setting, tucked behind London Bridge. Upon arrival we were seated but no explanation whatsoever about the concept of the restaurant. Name suggests Italian, clay wine vessel on wine lists hints at Mediterranean, menu British. Fusion? Never found out. In my opinion this is a must at this level. Food was good, but nothing outstanding. Nothing to remember. Few hits and misses on the plate. Bad tasting melon, half grilled aubergine, so-so tasting duckbreast. Service was efficient but not friendly. Unfortunately the two Michelin stars remains a mystery, as well as the reason behind the hideous pricing lacking any value. A very underwhelming experience.

Glad I came to experience it but wouldn’t necessarily come back. Restaurant atmosphere was generally good, tables weren’t too close together. Food was good but surprised they have two Michelin stars. Heavy use of citrus/vinegar/fermentation meant the natural flavors were completely overpowered. Service was good, attentive and answered all my questions. Somm was knowledgeable about details of how the orange wine was made.

The food is fantastic. One of the best in London. Booking this restaurant for celebrating my friend’s birthday of 40. It’s so sweet they present the birthday greeting card to my friend with all the signatures from the chef and staffs when we get there. One minor flaw - though it’s hard to say it’s the fault of Trivet’s. The starter looks so delicious. We decide to order 3 dishes to share. This is not normal. We know. But we just want to taste as much as we can. Turns out three dishes arrive at same time. With the tasting pace we feel the temperature won’t be perfect when we go to the 2nd and 3rd dish. Plus our plate never gets changed. I feel so disrespectful to mix the sources though I try to avoid. Once stepping into the main course everything goes back to normal. And it’s killingly delicious.

Trivet makes one question the Michelin star system. (1) large wine list, but when I studied it and asked for a bottle of 2015 Pommard, the server said it was unavailable; (2) he recommended the duck main, which was overcooked; (3) as we were finishing our meal at 9:30 on a Wednesday, the open kitchen staff was vigorously cleaning up and a waiter anxiously whisked plates off the table as we were drinking wine. All in all, really not a Michelin one-star experience, especially in light of the prices.

A modern style restaurant with tasteful decor. Music was a bit loud for fine dining for my taste as was the general noise level, possibly partly the result of the bare style. The staff were welcoming and efficient. There were a few gaps in the service where we waited for drinks. The food was astonished good and pushed flavours to new limits. Every dish was a masterpiece. There is an extensive wine list but we stuck to wine by the glass and the choice was great. I am not convinced this is a two star restaurant. Service and ambience are not of that level and there is no tasting menu but what you get is very good, but the prices are high.

I had such high hopes and it was so incredibly bad I now laugh. Quite genuinely I had a better customer experience and cuisine at a Burger King drive through last Friday. The whole place lacks any sense of warmth, from decor to service. I’ve visited graveyards that have felt more welcoming and warm (not that anyone was rude; it just felt very much that no one could care less about the service). The food was extraordinary ordinary - I ate but hours ago and can barely remember the courses (except that they were so so small). I love great food, and I have no complaints with paying up for it and the experience that comes with it at top restaurants. This was instantly forgettable and lacking any soul; bland food, bland service, bland environment. On a cost vs enjoyment scale this is quite genuinely the worst experience I have had.

To be clear, Trivet is a very good restaurant. However, like many of the other reviewers, I too failed to understand the second Michelin star, or the prices. Ambience and service are pleasant and the cooking very accomplished, but there are plenty of 1* restaurants in London that are just as good or better, and better value. The lamb was superb but the sauce of both that and the sweetbreads too salty which was a shame. Risotto and Turbot both very tasty. Wine list very interesting and some delicious options, but prices are disproportionately high. With 1* and prices to match, 5/5 easily. But for 2* at these prices, you’ll do better elsewhere.

Went for a 6.30pm dinner with my fiancé, booked a few hours before. Thankfully there was a table available. Quiet when we got there which in turn lacked atmosphere however as the evening progressed it really picked up! Food and service was outstanding, could not fault either. Eclectic wine list and lots of ingredients from across the UK that we appreciated. Standout was the Turbot! Will come again, definitely recommend.

I am very confused how this restaurant got the 2nd Michelin Star. Don’t get me wrong, it is a good restaurant with an impressive wine menu, yet having been to multiple Michelin restaurants, this is short of 2** both in terms of service and food. There isn’t even a tasting menu. And the acoustics is really bad, the restaurant gets extremely loud and you cannot have a peaceful conversation at your own table.

This review is based on a dinner experience in March 2024. Both myself and my co-diner have eaten at multiple 1, 2 and 3 Michelin starred restaurants all over the world (including the Fat Duck where the head chef has built his reputation). So having found out about Trivet being awarded a 2nd Michelin star this year, we came with high expectations. The room and ambience are sure deserving of this 2nd star. Beautiful interior design, dim lighting, extra thin wine glasses – the attention to detail is certainly there. The lack of a tasting menu option was the first thing that surprised us. A single and rather simple amuse bouche was the second. And, finally, a £5.50 charge for bread with butter definitely isn’t something we expected to see on a 2* menu. Though the beautifully prepared cocktails and an impressive wine list made up for the above. We ordered the cured sea bass, pici pasta, pigeon, grilled venison, chicken with vinegar sauce, fries with onion ketchup, roasted beetroots, and the potato mille-feuille – all to share. The pici pasta was undeniably the highlight of the evening – langoustines were cooked to perfection and the flavour of the bisque was just right. The cook on the chicken, pigeon and venison was also flawless, and the sauces that came with them were delicious. The biggest disappointment about our mains was the side of fries. There was absolutely nothing special – let alone 2 Michelin star – about them; and the onion ketchup seriously lacked flavour. So did our dessert – the potato mille-feuille didn’t taste like much at all and left us quite confused. It was taken off the bill, which we appreciated – and a different dessert was offered, but we refused. Service was attentive, yet slow. The staff were all pleasant and casually polite. There were, however, dirty plates sitting on our table for over 15 minutes after we’d finished eating. It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was rather busy, but one would still expect a certain level of service at a 2 star restaurant. Although our expectations were not quite met, we intend to come back to dine at Trivet again to try a different set of dishes, and hope for a better experience.

Underwhelming. High end pub food at elevated, fine dining prices. To me 2 Michelin stars means you’ll pay a premium but get something special for it, it means extreme attention to detail. But there was no wow factor here Some elements were good but mostly it was disappointingly average. Eg. a poorly prepared artichoke with bits you chew on and spit out Eg. flacid, bland mushrooms Eg. a sourdough broth that adds nothing but bland brown liquid to the plate Eg. tepid limp chips I expect the head chef was off on this evening because the dishes did not hold together and I’d be amazed if that was worthy of any Michelin stars.

We wanted to celebrate a special birthday at a special restaurant, and we certainly weren't disappointed!! We have been aware of Jonny Lake since he was at the Fat Duck, and the opportunity to try his imaginative and creative cooking was too good to miss. We were warmly greeted on arrival and, once seated, I was presented with a birthday card signed by all the staff. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with both the menus and the wine list. Service was relaxed, informal but attentive and unhurried. It was immediately apparent that Jonny Lake was hard at work in the open kitchen. How delightfully refreshing to find a celebrated chef with a huge reputation actually working in his own kitchen! The wines were delicious and the food outstanding throughout. Each course was very different from the norm and very individual. Tastes were incredibly distinctive and in many cases unusual. Each dish was carefully explained as it arrived and questions were answered with authority. We sent a message via our waiter to Jonny Lake that my wife was, like him, Canadian and he came to chat very amiably with us for about 20 minutes towards the end of our lunch. This was an exceptional experience in every respect, and surely the third Michelin star can only be a matter of time! THANK YOU to all at Trivet for making this such a memorable birthday celebration.

Was taken here for a surprise dinner and loved the entire experience! They’ve a beautiful wine menu, and Rob was so lovely helping us out with our wine selections. He recommended a lovely red for our main bottle choice, but all the wine pairings with each dish were superb. The chicken dish was one of the best I’ve had, literally how chicken should taste and our starters were lovely as well. Service is excellent, it’s nice and quiet in a beautifully austere setting. I love how minimal the decor is, it allows me to focus on the food and wine without distractions. Will definitely be back here to try more of the wines as well as the food!

Interior : minimalist, airy, Modern with nice wood panelling, open plan kitchen at far left of dining area and bar at right on entrance. Good spacing between tables. Good view of kitchen from some tables. Nice calm and chilled music. Seating : fairly comfortable. Starter Amouse of lemon and goats cheese dome was imbalance with too much lemon overpowered the goats cheese. The cracker was various types was ok. Would have been classed as a paid for amouse bouche. The chicken wing was a Simple dish, ir did not impress, the Panko on the top of the meat was not very nice. The meat had skin on it but was fairly dry saved by the sauce and the meat quality was average. Mains Tongue bun- brioche bun was great as was the sauce but meat was over-salted and simple. There was far too much oil for that dish and was glad the next dish was tiny and light. Fish dish- opted for the small serving was a tiny portion. Taste was disappointing as blend, the cured fish did little for taste, the mustard seeds, oil drizzle with ,cracker gave the dish it main taste which was too subtle. Deserts: Butter tart nice crispy- sweet base almost of honey and butter with raisins very buttery- nice dish. The cannoli was average- some honey at the top but fairly chewy. Drinks Amazing wine list by the glass, had the Drood King from Iran, made in Sweden. Service Excellent, polite and un rushed, very attentive. Service and ambience 5/5, food unfortunately:4/5.

Trivet is my favourite restaurant. It’s the incredibly rare place that does everything well. It has a fabulous bar where you can sit down for a drink with a colleague, client, or friend without needing a booking. You can come for lunch and have a great meal in an hour-ish or you can hang around all afternoon. You can come for a special occasion or treat it like your neighbourhood place. Okay. They also have two Michelin stars. And writing a review that says “Two Michelin star place is really good,” doesn’t exactly justify the cost of your (free) subscription. So let’s start with this: Trivet is the only two star place in the London area that doesn’t offer a tasting menu. That sends a message. Still, it’s two Michelin stars, so it’s not exactly cheap eats. Ah, but if you go for lunch, you can choose from an accessible menu of delicious treats including incredible coq au vin. Or you can plan to linger and dig into their full a la carte menu of two-star caliber delicacies. My favourite on the current menu, which changes seasonally, is the sweetbread, available as either starter or main. The venison and ‘Best friend of white burgundy’ (eg: monkfish) are also both extraordinary. Or you can go on Monday evening, when Trivet becomes Labombe, a neighbourhood wine bar concept offering fantastic by-the-glass selections and epically good bar food. The Tongue Bun is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten anywhere, and the fries with homemade onion ketchup are potatoes in their most perfected form. Labombe is so good that there’s usually a gang of sommeliers and staff from other restaurants enjoying their night off. The vibe is Trivet is both chill and modern. On a summer day, massive doors open the space up to the outside world. There’s a comfortable terrace. Beautiful wooden tables and chairs require no cloths. And then there’s the wine. Wine boss Isa Bal is a genius. He was named best Sommelier in the world a couple of years ago by Michelin. And his list is the best. Make sure you take a minute (or twenty) and have a read through it. Then hand it back and let him and his team pick your wine. They have a particular specialism in regions that are sadly a little unusual for us including Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Syria, and Lebanon. You will not go wrong. Isa founded Trivet together with Chef Jonny Lake. The two met while Jonny was the head chef at the Fat Duck and Isa was head sommelier. That history will always be part of their resume. But they have moved well past it now. By managing to be perfect for a special occasion or as a neighbourhood favourite, by providing two-star caliber food or the best meal you’ll ever have at bar, by serving great classic wine or helping you discover something entirely new, and by offering the most generous service you’ll experience anywhere without a hint of pretension, Trivet is a truly great restaurant in its own right. And I’d much rather spend an afternoon there than at the Fat Duck. I’m pretty confident that you will, too.

I had a wonderful dinner at Trivet last night. This was my second time visiting Trivet And it did not disappoint. I have been to many Michelin star restaurants. Trivet takes a different approach. The place is very casual and warm. I had a table facing the open kitchen, where a chef Jonny Lake is seen putting the final touches on every dish you get to see and smell the dishes even before they reach your table Trevvett does not have a fixed tasting menu, but rather an à la cart menu, I started with a lovely dish of sweetbreads, which was delicious and for my main I had the pigeon and persimmon. I have had pigeon many times, but none were better than this dish. The tenderness of the pigeon breast was absolutely amazing to accompany my dinner I had a lovely bottle of, a Slovenian Pinot Noir from Simcic that resembles many fine burgundy. Grand Crus I had a shade of beetroot salad, and by the time I got through I was so full I did not have room for dessert which is sad. Highly recommended.

I dont understand the this place. Went there on hearing it just got it’s 2nd Michelin star. Cured sea bass starter was very underwhelming - the 2 mains (chicken & monkfish) were grand (but i wouldnt rush back for them) - ordered a baba dessert which took ages to come (i think they forgot about the order) - they gave us dessert wines on the house but tbh i just wanted my frigging dessert. The waiters were over zealous with the water pours… and i literally had to put my hand on my glass! The baba cake was dry & the sauce too marmaladey - we left it. They eventually apologised & took it off the bill - but tbh you don’t come to a 2 star Michelin restaurant for this kind of nonsense. Asked for the bill to be splir between 2 & i enderd up paying £70 more… At no point did anyone engage with us or try to make the experience memorable. Tbh it all just felt messy….. there are other 1stars around that make you feel better fyi the interior design is from a previous portuguese restaurant that went into receivership & they inherited a fabulous space… and still it felt Meh I would avoid & go to sollip around the corner

2 out of 5 for this new 2 Star Michelin. Really did not meet this lofty standard, both in terms of food quality and service. Very disappointing. Would not recommend. I am not sure what Michelin were thinking upgrading Trivet, but it did not deserve it in my opinion. Food quality and taste were very hit and miss. Scallop starter was strong, but it is rare I would describe a dish as disgusting, and the Cured Seabass starter was exactly this: fishy, stale, and the accompanying ginger had the texture of dry sugarcane. Main courses were generous in size, but lacked that "WOW" flavour, which is disappointing. Same goes for the Hokkaido Potato dessert, nothing special. Waiters were curt and clumsy, clambering all over us without warning when serving and cleaning the table. I know it is supposed to be more casual and laid back, but common courtesy should not have been missing.

Very comfortable and enjoyable for dining and conversation. 🐟 Highly recommend the monkfish, loved every bit 🍷 Wine list is a gem, must try a couple Millie fuiellie was superb too. We popped into Trivet for lunch with some colleagues as part of the festive season and a good catch up. Let me say that the service was on point, and what one’s expects from a Michelin star restaurant. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm welcome and taken to our table. We opted for the La a Carte menu, which was good but nothing outstanding or innovated. The Sommelier did pair each of our dishes accordingly, which included a lovely Greek Rose. Overall a pleasant meal in a great setting.

Pedí la ensalada, pan plano con hummus y falafel. Todo era precioso excepto por el falafel que estaba muy seco.
