Had an INCREDIBLE Afternoon Tea at Cups and Cakes Cafe today. Everything was PERFECTION! The attention to detail and thought that has gone into each of the homemade delicious bakes and sandwiches were out of this world yummy. We had a delicious variety of sandwiches, sausage rolls, cheese scones with cream cheese and chutney, fruit scones with clotted cream and jam, strawberry fruit tarts, galaxy chocolate cupcakes, banoffee pies and of course, copious amounts of tea! Would thoroughly recommend Cups and Cakes for the personalized and friendly service too. I've experienced a lot of Afternoon Teas over the years and this was definitely the best! Lovely place to eat. Myself and my friend popped in for lunch today. We both chose the jacket potato, great menu with plenty of choice and very reasonable priced. Lovely, warm and friendly staff. A real gem 💎. Would highly recommend this and we will be back! Thanks for a lovely lunch 😄.

I'm Scottish on business down here and was staying at the orwell hotel and found this wee cafe by chance.... It's also known as The Basics Community Cafe. Charity run 👍👍 Delicious bacon n sausage sandwich and only £4. But disappointed no baps at 10am in the morning but still a good sandwich 👍

Really liked this venue for lunch. Welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent menu choices with good quality food that was hot! If lived locally could see this as a venue of choice for day time food and drink.

Tough review this, pizza was amazing and staff were friendly. Problem is the shop is so small it turns into pardon the pun a pizza oven just stood in the waiting area. Q goes out the door so if stood outside you have no idea if your food is ready or not. Just a suggestion to owners put a ticket screen up outside and give people order numbers to tell if ready. Only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 stars but everything else was top notch.

We came upon the place by accident. We were looking for a coffee whilst out for a seafront walk. We sat outside on a bright but chilly day. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with a smile and a menu and left to choose. Ordered 2 fruit scones( warm) and a coffee and a hot chocolate. They arrived quickly and well presented with butter and jam. The scones were tasty and very fresh, a bit crumbly. Hot chocolate was tasty. My husband said coffee was nice. All of this for £10. The outside seating area has clear screens to shelter us from the wind , was clean and well presented with hanging baskets. Will be going back.

Extremely rude staff made us wait ages then served an Americano with oat milk without asking which milk we prefer. It curdled in the Americano and looked awful,bas it does when the milk is off, all thick and.lumpy. On complaining the waitress said, " Of course it will it's oat milk." No apology or empathy at all. 0/10 for customer service we can see why it's closing down!!Still theres a perfectly acceptable cafe opposite who have great customer service.

A real little gem. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely menu. All the food is freshly made and presented well. Very good value for money. We were on holiday so could only fit in a couple of visits but if we are on the area again it will certainly be our go to cafe.

This restaurant was recommended and I was shocked by how talented the young chef was… The prawns were meltingly fresh and the quality of the drinks was simply amazing. I was the only diner at lunchtime and I felt Hannah went above and beyond without being intrusive. Next time I will certainly try the fish pie if I can tear myself away from the wonderful shop below it… A real hidden gem 💎
