What a lovely place . Excellent all round.

Came in for a Sunday roast with the family when I was back in Suffolk for the weekend. Loved it, quirky, cosy and great service. The food was lovely and well priced. Obviously very popular as had to wait a little while for a table and it was full throughout. We'll definitely be back

Atmosphere was decent, a bustling cafe with vinyl playing, encouraged to share a table with strangers which is a rarity. The fellow (seemingly the owner) who seated us went noticeably cold when only I ordered any food, this persisted the entire time we were there, bringing down the only real positive you had. Judging by some other reviews, you clearly have an attitude problem and you need to work on it. The food took over 20 minutes to come out, which was a full English. Certainly not a "full" English, with a lack of hash browns and black pudding, but it did come with an overcooked sausage and unseasoned, tinned beans for a hefty price. The tea was good. I look forward to your snooty reply lmao.

It was lovely to return to the Common Room Cafe and we got a warm welcome and felt instantly at home in the wonderful atmosphere. I absolutely love how colourful and interesting it is and there’s plenty to feast your eyes on whilst waiting for your delicious food to be prepared. The atmosphere is further added to by great sounds and it is truly a place of character. The food is wonderful and plenty to choose from as well as a daily specials board. I had the best Quiche that I’ve ever had and the accompanying home made coleslaw and salad with a homemade dressing were equally delicious. It’s an absolute joy to visit and the friendly and very efficient staff really make it. I will make a point of returning when I get the opportunity. Many thanks 👍🏻

Good food at reasonable prices. Freshly cooked. We ate lunch here and had two delicious meals. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was speedy and friendly. It's a nice little place and it seem to be easily the most popular lunch venue in Framlingham. The food was freshly cooked. I had a very good full English breakfast which came with a pot of tea which is always a good sign as far as I'm concerned. My I've had piri chicken with chips and coleslaw. The chips were freshly fried and hot and delicious and the chicken was also extremely good. I really recommend this place.

What a great find! We came for lunch with friends. Although it was busy and there was a queue, we were immediately welcomed and a table for five was quickly found. The atmosphere, food and service were all excellent. We all have very different tastes yet there was plenty of choice from the menu and specials to suit everyone. We'll definitely be back.

We went to Framingham for the castle and went on the hunt for food after seeing there wasn't much for vegans or vegetarians. We found the common room cafe and there are options my wife can have. The portion sizes are very good. I had the spicy burger and I must say it's the nicest burger I've ever had, and I've had lots of burgers from all over. From the first bite to the last I couldn't put it down, not for the delicious chips or even my drink. I think my wife is going to get fed up of me talking about this burger. I would definitely drive the hour and half from home for another meal here.

We have been trying to get into the Common Room for a while, but it is a very popular Café. If you're looking for great food at a very reasonable price with a quirky interesting decor, then you couldn't do better than visit the Common Room Café.

I wanted to get breakfast before driving to London. Found this place. It's cosy and has vinyl playing to create a relaxed atmosphere I got a Full English which comes with tea or coffee I got tea. Which you can get three cups out of. All for under £12 (can't remember the exact amount £11 something) Breakfast was amazing everything had flavor and was well presented. Highly recommend Only negative but not worth less stars, was a little wait to get a table as it's not the biggest place. But don't let that put you off. I visited on a Wednesday at 11:00 (oh breakfast is all day too not like other places in the area)

Really wonderful place to eat. Food was great, staff were incredibly kind, informative and accommodating. Very laid back and everything seemed to be running efficiently.

Such a groovy place! We went for Friday brunch (until 11:45) and there were tables available and the atmosphere was welcoming. The vinyls playing, the eggs benedict, the colourful decorations were all perfect.

Amazing vegan breakfast and coffee. The vegan sausage was made in house and was delicious.

Dropped in for breakfast on a visit to the castle and was not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere with vinyl playing on a vintage music center and lots of pop related photographs. The full Egglish breakfast set us up nicely for the day. I just wish we had a place this lovely local to us.

Absolutely lovely food, service and atmosphere. It can be busy in the village and we had just come from another cafe where there were no free tables. There were people taking up tables for quite some time and not consuming anything (rude!!!). We were desperately trying to find a place to sit and eat, so we were so pleased to find this place. Absolutely fantastic!!!!

Always a warm welcome and delicious food. Pancakes and eggs Benedict and hearty homemade soups are all favourites. Bountiful plates of food using the best local produce. Always consistently good.

This was the worst customer experience I ve had in a long time. I was pressured to leave my table to give room to others apparently because I had already finished my coffee and cake and was just working on my phone (this was after about 45min in there). I had been sitting by myself at a table that fitted 6 (the owner asked me to sit there suggesting it could get busy and that would be better for sharing, which I was happy with). 4 people arrived and came standing next to my table and I was enquired by the owner if I was going to have any more food. The tone was not a kind one. I sensed pressure and urgency. I was surprised and was then honest to say I wasnt sure (until then I had actually been contemplating to have lunch and another coffee). The owner kept asking me impatiently and suggested I wasnt helping. This was a traumatic experience that I dont wish to anyone else. I obviously decided to leave as I just couldnt remain in that environment where I was clearly not welcome. I shared an emotional testimonial of this experience on my social media (without mentioning the name of the cafe) and got so many replies. Questions that came up: “would I have been approached like this if I were a man? If I were a couple or group of friends having a chat.. or if I didnt have a foreign accent?” Mind you even if the 4 customers who had arrived didnt want to share a table with me, there were other spaces available at other big tables where I could maybe join. But the idea of finding a solution to make everyone happy wasnt considered. This was the first time I felt so unwelcome and felt as if I had been kicked out of a supposedly “very good” cafe. Im not coming from a place of hatred here specially because this was a very sad experience to me. I just feel I need to share this with other potential customers and also with the owners who can then have an opportunity to reflect and improve for the future (for other customers as they obviously lost me as one).

For a moment I didn't want to get in because from outside was feeling like another pub but a lady told me go you will not regret it....I found the most lovely place and people...amazing stuff...beautiful decorations and ambience....pictures and Lp's everywhere and very very tasteful feelings

Came in for a mother daughter day, we had the quiche and pancakes with bacon and syrup, very good value for money and portion size was great, will definitely be coming back.

We discovered the Common Room while In Fram for a funeral. Although we only called in for coffee the cheese scones tempted us we weren’t disappointed they were delicious, one of our party said it was the best cup of tea he had ever had in a cafe. Lots of people enjoying breakfast which all looked very tempting. The locals are so lucky to have such an amazing cafe

This place serves the best cappuccino in Framlingham ( and I’ve tried them all!) Fabulous homemade food.

Have been a few times, and the service and food are always exceptional. Recently had the field mushrooms on sourdough and wow! Better than 99% of restaurant meals I've had in the last 6 months. Always great songs playing on the record player, staff always friendly and happy to help. Great stop for breakfast or lunch, highly recommend.

I come here as a quiet breakfast treat every few months. The staff are always lovely, I can spend ages just looking at the decor or wondering whose record I'm listening to (all music via turntable in cafe), and I know the food will be delicious. Thoroughly recommend the full English, the eggs Benedict, and the amazing pancakes.

Whenever I'm nearby I love coming to the common room cafe. The decor is great, the foods fantastic and the staff are lovely. The Welsh rarebit is amazing on the breakfast.

What a fantastic place for lunch. A little gem I would recommend to anyone. We had the special, pork and leek pie, served with mashed potato and a large portion of freshly cooked veg. We couldn’t fault a thing

Warm and cozy environment, very good coffes, cusine well anchored in the British tradition enhanced by the top quality of the ingredients. A remarque: retain from indulging too much in the exoticism, continue to preserve and refine your roots!

We had the most wonderful Lamb pie with a great selection of veg, we were deliciously full but managed to squeeze in a bread and butter pudding with a jug full of custard...Will definitely be back when we are in the area...thanks for a wonderful meal.

What a lovely cafe we were so lucky to get a seat. As soon as we sat down the place just filled up. So get there early! The breakfast was fabulous and what lovely staff too. The music was so nice coming from the record player, a lot to look at with all their records and memorabilia. Definitely worth a visit.

Great place. Mixture of retro and quaint interior. Love the vinyl collection being played at a sensitive volume on a turntable. Good coffee, quality ingredients in both drinks and food ( the bacon on my pancakes with bacon and maple syrup was great). Young, friendly, hard working staff (it’s deservedly busy) - good service. A notch above anywhere else in my 2 week trip to the UK

Very popular lunch spot, ecclectic mix of framed photos and interesting ornaments, very relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed a delicious crab and seasoned salad. Definitely worth a visit.

Vegan breakfast is very good - huge field mushroom, home made sausage very tasty, deep fried patty of bubble and squeak is big. Extra toast on the side - came away absolutely stuffed. Loved it. Delivery of pots of tea towards the end of the meal (after a reminder) was not great, but overall it's still one of the best places for breakfast in Suffolk

I can't recommend this cafe highly enough! It was busy, but we were warmly greeted immediately on arrival and shown to a table. The person who served us was really lovely and service was excellent. Our veggie breakfasts were absolutely delicious and the cappuccinos were great too. The prices were very reasonable and the food was very high quality. I would definitely return.

The food was so delicious. Obviously all homemade. I had the bitoque which was so yummy and very good value. The staff were friendly, quick and efficient. My niece thoroughly enjoyed her piri piri chicken sandwich too.

Had the most amazingly delicious pigeon salad !! 10/10 And yesterday we popped in for a quick snack and ended up having 2 milkshakes that I cannot put into words how delicious they were ! Best milkshakes ever 👍👍👍

Was served by a gentleman (owner) Asked about some sandwiches for takeaway and he was helpful in our various choices. We then asked if we could have milkshakes to take away. The young girl behind the counter explained that they can do but the take away cups are small and nowhere near the size of the big metal cups used to drink inside. She said the excess could be put into another cup. While she was making them, the gentleman came out and said to put in one cup. When we questioned this he threw up his hands and said ‘just do it, I don’t care!’ I wouldn’t mind, but these were just milk with a bit of flavour (nesquick?) added and ice @ £4.95 ! After seeing the big metal cups, we were expecting some lovely thick frothy concoction, very disappointed. Over priced drinks and rude manager. I felt sorry for the girls working with him and he made us feel uncomfortable. Sandwiches were nice though.

Absolutely rude owner! Ordered a milkshake to go but was only going to give us half because they didn’t have the right to go cups. Milk shake was just milk, sauces and ice. When we asked if have the other half in another cup but was told I don’t care do whatever you want. Was huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf while taking our order like it a chore. Don’t own a cafe if you don’t want to serve people 🤷‍♀️. Sandwich was nice though.

Stood in the door for 10 mins trying to just ask a member of staff if they could accommodate us. Just totally blanked by the staff, stood at the bar chatting, not doing a lot. Looked nice from outside, but service is more important than looks.

Love coming to Fram, common room always one of the highlights.

We had been staying in the local area and stopped here on our way home for breakfast. The quality of the food and drinks was fantastic. My hubby had a cooked breakfast and I had the homemade granola and yoghurt. Both meals were delicious. In fact the granola was so nice I wanted to buy extra to take home with me. A lovely little quirky cafe which I’d definitely recommend for good quality food and a steaming cup of coffee. Wish it was nearer to home.

Great choice and quality of food. There's the usual affair of breakfast choices (plus lunch options from 12pm), nice selection of drinks and vegan options too. Prices are fair, service was good and a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere but with plenty of character. Only thing to be aware of was the portions weren't huge, in that the full breakfast only got 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 slice of toast, but plenty of beans, bacon, mushrooms a tomato and a huge pot of tea. It was just enough for me, and I personally prefer the quality over quantity. But the price and quality was very good. We arrived at 10am on a Monday and it was quiet, but by the time we left at 11am it was nearly full and it's no surprise as we will definitely be back!

I love places that have their own personality and this cafe has it by the bucketload! Amazing decor, fantastic service and quality food. The menu and the special boards offer a wide range of choice and not only is the food well presented but actually taste delicious. Unlike many places in England be prepared to share a table as this place is well supported but this all adds to the experience.

Went here for lunch. Need to go early -12.00 - to avoid having to queue. Hoped for light lunch, omelette, jacket potato etc but only sandwiches or full cooked meal. One had steak, one had steak and ale pie. These were tasty and very well cooked. Good service. Found the room rather cramped but atmosphere friendly.

It is a lovely quirky place with such tasty food. The steak and ale pie is so good and the bowl of vegetables that comes with it is so beautifully cooked and again so tasty. We go out of our way to eat there.

The Common Room at Framlingham is a wonderful find. The decore is comfortable and welcoming retro style with charming, helpful and friendly staff. I was part of a group of three and my choice for brunch was "Roasted field mushroom on toasted sour dough bread with pesto dressing, and a perfect poached egg all sitting on a bed of rocket and pea shoot salad; finished off with sun dried tomato, feta cheese and a drissle of pesto dressing". YUMMY!! I also chose the most delicious cappuccino coffee to finish off my lunch. Next time you visit the pretty village of Framlingham make sure you give The Common Room Cafe a try - you won't disappointed.

Incredible breakfast. So many eateries could learn from The Common Room. The food was of the highest quality and served hot on a heated plate. Invariably these days food that should be served hot isn't. The cafe has a really nice, relaxed vibe.
