The best restaurants serving Default food in Felixstowe South Suffolk Coastal East of England

Keep coming back to possibly one of the best Chinese takeaways in Felixstowe. The food is freshly cooked every time. The vegetable ingredients are always very fresh and crisp. They always check when placing an order for a vegetarian meal for two the prawn crackers are ok or can be removed as not vegetarian. With the additional garlic prawns for a non vegetarian we're properly cleaned and well cooked. All the food is also hot unlike some others. Just good quality food at a fair price and good value for money as we always have enough for more than one meal.

Always a good watering hole, service is always very warm and friendly. Fresh fruit and cheese scones are always good as is the cheese and crackers board that's great for sharing and plentiful. Clientele can be loud and offensive especially out the front if your looking for a quiet outing with your family. Most of the time it's a really nice place to be. It would be nice if the staff could be more observant with some of the visitors and the number of animals not controlled some of the time by owners with continual barking mostly at the weekend.

5 stars simply isn't enough. Proper, delicious, gourmet smash burgers with just the right amount of crispy caramelised meat on edges. Best burger I've had in ages. Actually I don't remember if I ever had a better one. Go for Phat cow. Perfect, succulent and sweet pulled pork and perfect smash burger with crispy lettuce and fantastic house sauce. Really tasty. Skin on chips were also great and lots of them in a portion. We will be coming back next time we are in Felixstowe. Thank you Patty Macs.

2025 uodate: They've changed their waffles from the excellent Belgian style to a mediocre bubble waffle (just a crepe really with bubbles in it). Disappointing as they used to be lovely, now they're just OK.

Great food once again, friendly staff .

Rooms are clean and comfortable with free option on wifi, which is limited. No staff around on arrival. Extra charges for checking in/out, Extra charges for parking, Extra charge to book in at 11am which staff cannot always meet despite you paying???? Room 12 has noise air con and very creaky floor.

What a fabulous evening had by all at The Alex last night at their themed Mamma Mia Greek night. The food was amazing..delivered beautifully by all staff and singer Chelsea had us all dancing within minutes. We all agreed it was fantastic value for mo ey too. Just what we all needed on a January night. Please another one! We're so lucky to have this venue.

The food very delicious,my favourite the roasted duck

With my oldest friend from primary school visiting, I wanted him to see what has been one of my favourite places to go for many years. I'd actually never been to the cafe for breakfast and, as it was his treat, I especially enjoyed it! My friend opted for the Fisherman's Breakfast at £8.45 and I chose the larger Tug Driver's version for three pounds more. Everything was absolutely top quality, with local sausages from a specialist shop in Trimley St. Mary, free range eggs from Hart's in Ipswich and the best bacon either of us has had in ages. My friend had to help me finish mine and, as everything had been really nicely cooked, I felt motivated to go and thank the male chef. On a blustery spring day with puffy clouds scudding across the wide East Anglian sky, the View Point cafe was the perfect place to be.

A New Year, but there are some things we like to remain the same. For one,our regular visits to this cafe. The place is clean and efficiently run by friendly staff. The fish is to die for! To secure a window seat is a bonus with the views across the river or to marvel at the huge boats in dock. Here's wishing all the staff a Happy New Year.

I had high hopes: it was a sunny lunchtime and we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff on arrival. Unfortunately, that was the high point. There were four draft beers on the bar; none were available. We waited over 45 mins for the food. Unlike the descriptions it has not been smoked or barbecued. It was hugely disappointing and came with cheap mass catering sachets of sauce and some bad coleslaw. The waitress dropped two drinks on our table. I would not recommend.

I ordered Fish and Chips from this place, and it was a terrible experience. Not only was the food cold, but there was also a hair in it! That is absolutely disgusting and shows a complete lack of hygiene. It made me lose my appetite entirely. I will never be ordering from here again, and I strongly advise others to stay away as well.
