The best restaurants serving Default food in Chelmer Village and Beaulieu Park Chelmsford East of England

This cafe provided afternoon tea for our group of approximately 18 children who were attending the Chelmsford escape rooms one weekend. I made the booking via the escape rooms and on the day, we were taken care of by the cafe staff, especially Justine. We hired the board room on the premises so as not to clog up the cafe due to our numbers. The platters, including sandwiches and wraps were fresh and very tasty and their service was 1st class.

Waited ages, people chatting and ignoring me, I was the only person in the queue in a quiet cafe. Finally left with no coffee after waiting 5 mins plus - pretty rubbish

We sometimes stop here when we are about to go on our travels to get a decent coffee , the staff have been there for years and are really pleasant it’s not a sit down although there is a table you could stand at .

three times that I have been here . Visiting from Danbury. Not far that's for sure. First let's start on the fish . It is very good quality. Had cod twice and on the third occasion had a middle skate. All time the fish was very good. Batter little thick . Now this is the bad points three occasions the chips looked like they were in needing some more time in the fryer. And every time they are cold and just poor quality . Then on two occasions had the curry sauce and if I was looking for a good wallpaper paste then I've just found it. And again cold . Then to add more problems to the meal. Walking out to the car the paper carrier bag handle broke with the bag on the floor. If I was the owners I would look at these problems and try the chips and other items. And listen to the customers. You have good fish but lack the finishing parts to make great fish meal . Good luck

We decided to try this take away after seeing it in the ratings in the Essex Chronicle. We were definitely not disappointed! We have tried virtually every Chinese in Chelmsford and have finally found what we have been looking for - great food, served hot at reasonable prices!! Will be our regular point of call from now on and would recommend to everyone 😊😊😊

I decided to give Gourmet Express a try as my usual Chinese takeaway food quality had gone down hill recently. I was pleasantly surprised. My order was taken over the phone in a polite professional manner. The order was delivered hot and within the time I was given. The quality of the food was excellent and served in large portions. I will certainly be using Gourmet Express for my Chinese takeaways from now on.

Service on the till was pleasant, friendly and polite. No oat milk again. Wrong size drinks server and over priced. Breakfast is good value. Bacon is paper thin. Sausages were black. Nice freshly cooked, eggs on my plate, like rubber on my better Half's. Hash browns not crispy, almost stale, rubbery. One mushroom, hardly cooked, kind of warmed up. No tomato on menu, although when there was they were always under cooked. Aside from reasonable price, it would take so little to make it great. Poor management I suspect.

AVOID No point booking because you just sit anywhere Don't expect to eat all your breakfast at once, no eggs, mushrooms, potatoes beans or sausages when we queued, twice went up for an egg and there were so many people waiting we never got anything so what seemed like a cheaper breakfast wasn't when all we could get was bacon, hash browns and toast. The place is dirty and understaffed.

We had a lovely meal with great service from Tracey. Would recommend to all people who want a cosy evening with good company

She made sure my order was accurate and fresh, and when I pulled up to the window, her smile and warm personality really stood out. It’s rare to receive such attentive service in a drive-through setting, She truly made my day! Highly recommend KFC Springfield if you’re looking for great food and incredible service.”

Absolutely alfull breakfast Stone cold and under cooked bacon. Sent it back and they warmed it in the microwave and brought it back even the toast which was then soggy NEVER AGAIN

I have had disappointing snacks or meals there in the past but if you need a break there is no alternative around. This time I called in for a coffee and decided to have a muffin. With only one bite the dryness of this made me cough. I noticed there were only 3 muffins on display so no, there hadn't been a rush on muffins, it had been left over from the previous weekend. I finished my coffee and took plate and muffin to the counter and said it was dry and I requested a refund. The young person went and got someone and again I explained that it was dry, and stale. I was asked if I would like a replacement cake from the stand but explained that I had now finished my coffee and needed to go. In all fairness a refund was given for the muffin but I noticed that the other two muffins remained on display when they clearly should have been taken away. With hindsight I wish I had mentioned that the remaining muffins should be taken off of display.
