We always stop here for coffee and cake after a look round the garden centre. Always plenty of choice. Their bread and butter pudding is legendary! . Last time (12th Oct) we were greeted by a lovely guy called Bobby who served us. He was really friendly and helped our little girl choose her cake… anything with chocolate was always going to be a winner. It was so nice to be greeted by someone with such a lovely personality, service with a smile. Thank you Bobby! We’ll be back!

I have had disappointing snacks or meals there in the past but if you need a break there is no alternative around. This time I called in for a coffee and decided to have a muffin. With only one bite the dryness of this made me cough. I noticed there were only 3 muffins on display so no, there hadn't been a rush on muffins, it had been left over from the previous weekend. I finished my coffee and took plate and muffin to the counter and said it was dry and I requested a refund. The young person went and got someone and again I explained that it was dry, and stale. I was asked if I would like a replacement cake from the stand but explained that I had now finished my coffee and needed to go. In all fairness a refund was given for the muffin but I noticed that the other two muffins remained on display when they clearly should have been taken away. With hindsight I wish I had mentioned that the remaining muffins should be taken off of display.

Ordered 2 traditional breakfasts. Came out pretty quick but it wasn’t busy to be fair. Well what can say except it’s certainly not value for money ! The smallest peace of bacon ever with a snotty egg, warm beans ,cold fried 1/2 tomato. And the hottest driest grisly sausage ! 1 slice of extra thin cold toast with frozen butter which didn’t spread! All for an amazing price of £10.95 what a con. Loose some of the staff standing around and improve your breakfasts ! Oh and a coffe was extra !

I go here regularly and it always is busy. Staff friendly, helpful and the atmosphere is airy and relaxed. Good variety of freshly prepared food for breakfast, lunches and afternoon tea. Portions are good. Excellent value for the quality of food and away from the hustle of down town Chelmsford. Very pleasant. Keep up the good work!!

Awful. Dirt floating around in tea pot. Out of date condiments! Told staff the condiments were over 4 months out of date and got laughed at and they put them back. How is this safe?

Absolutely awfully and disgusting food. Ordered 2 bacon and cheese pastries that were absolutely appalling and repulsive. Very salty and gooey, oily. The coffee awful, milk burnet and very very hot. They also dont take cash. Isnt this England where the national currency is still £? Overpriced also, 2 Pastries and a coffee £11. Dont bother!!! Go around the corner where you can find costa and other shops.

After shopping in Woodham Ferrers a great place for a break is Costa Coffee, the staff there are very friendly & they can provide you with a good cup of coffee & a nice cake for a very reasonable price.

In area looking at antiques, decided to stop here for light lunch. Dissapointed to find that a Tea Room served our hot drinks in takeout cups and sandwiches on paper plates with plastic knives & forks. The menu sandwich choice read Thick hand cut Wiltshire ham, the sandwich turned up with one slice of thin cut ham. Sausage roll was cooked in microwave so pastry was soggy and a toasted tuna sandwich was not edible. Awful lunch! Addressed our complaint to the staff, was refunded back the Tuna sandwich. Doubtful we will rush back.
