My daughter was spiked here last night, no covers on drinks absolutely disgusting!! Safety is definitely not a priority. She spent the night in hospital and needed a CT scan after doorman didn't believe her and through her out. Police investigation on going.

My husband had a great works night out but lost his phone. I messaged B and B Sunday morning and by Monday I'd had a reply to say they had his phone and by Tuesday they'd paid for next day delivery to get it back to us! Absolutely gold standard customer service which is rare these days and a good sign of the calibre of staff working here! Thankyou 😀

Went all around Chelmsford for a bottomless brunch and they said we had to book. Came to bar and beyond and Michaela SAVED OUR DAY! SERVICE WAS AMAZING drinks where never empty she really went above and beyond 😜

Had a warm welcome by a lovely young lady called grace. Very knowledgeable and suggested new drinks to try and also a pizza. I must say I had a fantastic time in this establishment. Will be recommending to all friends and colleagues! Thank you for a wonderful night

These two security is literally showing a racism against me. Because I’m a brown male from India they’re literally asking me a money for a entry, I have already paid an entry ticket and I am chilling inside this old guy and young man took me outside and asked me to pay money to get inside I have already paid an entrance why do I have to pay again when I asked these two guys said it’s a extra fee for other nationals to chill inside. I felt bad for asking them for money why I have to pay again. Please help me out from this situation for anyone else it’s a brown or a black man please I’m begging you don’t disrespect us company… please take a serious action against this persons please 🙏🙏🙏 my kind request please

Freezing cold. My bar at home better stocked. Cocktails taste like ass. Seriously gone downhill in the last 2 years. Ordered 1 round, then left ! Half the seats also gone.

A one star is a complement to this place. To all the women out there for your own safety DO NOT GO HERE it’s not worth it. Me and my mate was getting preyed on the whole night, a group of men trying to intimidate us, to lure us out, trying to get to us, trying to get to our drinks. They DO NOT check your bags or your pockets. The group of men who would not take no for an answer, was fiddling around in their pockets trying to grab something. The bouncers, did not get rid of the group of men, they kept them in the building! The Dj of the night had noticed what the men were doing to me and my friend; telling them to leave us alone and they didn’t. They continued. Once I had got home and looked at the reviews, I had noticed this place had a history of spiking and sexual harassment. I URGE women to not come here, they have a sign saying ask for Angela and yet they don’t seem to care. Women this place is not worth the risk!

Assaulted for no reason by one of the bouncers on Sunday morning. The guy should lose his badge, abused his position and showed excessive force. Threw me into a female slamming her against a wall for not a clear enough reason. I wasn't even asked to leave before he tried breaking my leg with a kick and pushing me and my friend aggressively. Aren't these guys meant to protect paying customers. I see this place is getting a reputation for aggressive security staff. Maybe use a different firm B&B

My experience at Bar and Beyond was extremely disappointing yet AGAIN. The security staff—aside from one person, Andy—were rude, unprofessional, and appeared completely unfit for their roles. The atmosphere in the club was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced, and it’s hard to ignore the clear pattern of my non-white friends being unfairly targeted by security. This treatment is unacceptable and raises serious concerns. On my last visit, one bartender tried to start a fight with a customer and had to be restrained by a coworker. When security showed up, they openly admitted they had no idea what was happening, yet still chose to kick people out with no explanation. Rather than simply communicating policies, such as limits on rounds, they resorted to throwing people out. Another time at Bar and Beyond, I saw someone get thrown out and forcefully pushed to the floor by the bouncers. While I understand the need to remove overly intoxicated people, the aggression shown here was completely over the top and I’ve never seen aggression like this from any other bouncers at other clubs. I’ve seen multiple instances where six security guards swarmed a single person, dragging them off the dance floor in a way that felt more like an assault than crowd control. Even when moving through the crowd, security shoves and pushes everyone in their path—male or female—with zero respect. For an establishment that relies on its customers, Bar and Beyond needs to take a hard look at their hiring and training practices. Employing aggressive and biased staff not only damages their reputation but creates an environment that’s anything but welcoming.

Your bouncers need to learn some respect! Pushing people for no reason? Why because they wanted to use the restroom, they wouldn’t like it if it was the other way round! I will be taking this further (the police know of this situation) . So i suggest you employe people that know how to respect people.

Nice to visit this bar again excellent service

i’ve been going to clubs for years and had the worst experience here last night. They had a table/ booth of three men that were trying to pressure me into drinking their drinks (i didn’t after much back and forth), and also tried forcing themselves on me and touching me. Luckily my friends boyfriend had noticed by this point and got me out the situation. i reported this to the security outdoors and their response was “i know”. Assuming this was not their first report of them men that night but continue to let them in and serve them assuming this is because they had a table and were buying bottles so making too much money from them to kick them out and whilst doing so putting woman’s safety at risk as i have no idea what would’ve happened to me if my friends boyfriend hadn’t clocked the situation. Honestly been here many of times no issues but this is shameful and i will never be going there ever again

Bouncers are complete tossers they obviously have an ego to live up to or got bullied in school I recently had knee surgery so need to sit down every now and again , I sat down for 5 mins to rest my knee n before I know it I’m getting dragged out of the place All I see is them throwing people about for the smallest reasons Would love to see em get a good hiding to knock ‘em back down to earth

One of the worst club ever , very rude staff and raciest , I spend £100 and get worst experience, no respect .

Connor was on his own at the bar when we arrived at around 5pm up until 7:30, he is a brilliant bar guy and served us drinks amazingly well and he have amazing manners, he deserve a pay rise!!

Came here tonight and first told two workers about broken glass on the floor which neither did anything about despite people nearby getting glass in their shoes - then a boy got escorted out for being too drunk ( that is fine in itself ) but a bouncer proceeded to kick him down the stairs to get out consequently making him stressed and then being taken by police - my issue here is how the staff are dealing with drunk people ( at a club ) sure it is probably stressful with the large amount of drunk people but they really don’t know how to calm a situation down and one worker, whilst I can’t give a name made the situation much worse

Being in my late 30's it's always an experience going to a club. Music was good and alot of songs from younger me times! It seemed like beer is quite expensive here compared to spirits. I don't drink beer but I feel £5 for a bottle is a bit steep? If you go in during the busier times you have to pay to get in (£7 at time of writing). This also has one thing that will never change about clubs... Sticky floors. I was with a group of people mixed aged so if it was me I probably wouldn't choose to go here purely due to paying to get in.

This place is Awful and has not trained the bouncers at the door how to greet the customers because of whom probably they are getting their salaries from.I and my friends visited this place last night , we forgot our ids so we went home and got the Ids and when went inside.While going inside my friend guy friend was carrying a man bag was told that he’s not allowed to get the bag inside when we asked him for a reason for the same he didn’t answer any thing but at the same time I was allowed with my lady bag in there.We offered him if he can check his bag and allow him inside then but he insisted us to go back hide your man bag inside and then you can enter which is so disrespectful and bad.Then we went inside enjoyed our selves so by the end of time we were leaving the same bouncer who let us in started abusing and assaulting us when we said don’t touch he said “I’ll show you what I can do and even touch you”.He pushed me badly and grabbed my friend’s arm and dragged him out of the club.This incident has shocked me from inside out that what kind of Racist and sexist behaviour is this.For the first time in my life I have seen such heartless behaviour inside a club this is not even human.If a women can get a purse that’s allowed and man cannot isn’t this unfair and sexiest ?? We group of people spent almost 300 pounds in this club and this club gave us a very hard time, forget the service they can’t even match the basic standards on even humanitarian grounds or any place if compared.People who wants to have a good quality time “PLEASE AVOID Going to this bar as this is beyond the expectations of insults and sexism and racism you’ll face in your entire life”.I would never visit this place again and never recommend to my friends.

Low class staff, poor service, low level security, poor service, bad atmosphere, bad food, dirty drinks.

It's a very bad shop. There is discrimination based on gender and skin color. The service staff sucks and most importantly, the security guards have very bad behavior. The store was very dirty and smelly. And there are people doing drugs in the bathroom.

Can be pricy depending on the night but music can be quite good. The area is big and u can vape throughout.

Awful Bouncer a bald headed man I walked past him as there was another bouncer by the desk I was going to until he forcefully grabbed me pushed me back harsh fully and told me I was not allowed entry anymore as I walked straight past him.

Honestly a terrible experience tonight, I’m a usual customer at bar and beyond but tonight this has been the worst experience and the last experience there, firstly the bouncers seemed moody and angry upon entering as well as the bar staff and the people serving shots within the bar, the DJ however was very good as well as the drinks. One problem I had was a young dodgy boy stalker follow me for an hour and after asking security for help they ignored my request, I have never felt so alone and scared in my life of being a single mom and was scared to leave the club without my friend who was also harassed and shouted at by the bouncers on the way out of the club as she was too drunk and knocked a pole slightly and was told to “act her age” and “be a real woman”, I am shocked and never entering that place again.

Bad experience getting in when the bouncer was calling us rude and inappropriate words which we shared within our group, service within the bar was okay apart from the security team when one of my friends was approached and asked to leave after having an argument with a bartender who was forcing her to buy a shot off the shot tray which she didn’t want in the first place, after getting kicked out the bouncer was extremely rude and grabbed me by the arm and pushed me nearly knocking me off my feet, the bouncers on this night need to get sacked in my opinion as I am not happy at all with the service and the bouncers attitude

I told the manager of bar and beyond that I had asthma and he said explicitly “that I could either go to the smoking area or go home” and since I had a hard time breathing next to the vast amounts of vaping I asked to stand approximately 5m away from the smoking area and I was denied. When I asked for managers names I was also completely ignored. I meant no disrespect and I was completely and utterly treated like an animal even though I tried my hardest to be reasonable with the bouncers and my respiratory problem.

Samsa is a bad man he was rude to my girlfriend 👎 both used to work there. Never trust the guy, flirts with all the shot girls, when we were sitting on the benches outside he shouted at us, my girlfriend as a woman was traumatised by it, so unprofessional

Me and my friends decided to go clubbing this night, only for a guy with brown long hair. Start looking at me make feel come uncomfortably. He passed me and grabs my ass what kind a staff is that. Me and my friends are not coming back.

As bars go its ok. Good selection of drinks. Service could be better and at times painfully slow but staff were happy enough.

The worst music yet in a club that I’ve been to. Music from like 2009 and all the cheesy pop songs which I liked when I was about 5. If they just got a decent dj like acanteen it would be such a vibe. But as this is one of the only places open late in Chelmsford, we don’t have much option. Entry is £7.50 and I hate having to pay that for a kids dj set.

Ordered from epic chicken on derliveroo which is inside bar and beyond and what can I say absolutely lovely food portion sizes are really good, the burgers are as big and tasty as the images and the kids loves the wings. Chips are also so nice lots of flavour from the seasoning on the. Deffo be ordering from here/going to eat in here again.

Lovely venue great decorations and lighting, staff were all lovely and cocktails were good for price! Only damper on the evening was the dj, which was terrible and missed the countdown after accidentally doing it too early, please don't hire him again!

Really disappointed, the doorman stopped my friends son from going in just because he's in the army. He had done nothing but drop his waller which revealed his army I'd. Disgraceful.

I went here with my friends for my 20th birthday, I had trouble booking a table so Corrina was really really helpful and managed to get me one last minute, staff were lovely and service was quick. I had a really good time!!

All I can say is read the reviews before considering visiting this venue, as the multiple negative reviews are clear evidence that this venue has real problems and is consistently upsetting its paying customers, so really should be avoided!! In my experience the rude, disrespectful, patronising and very sexist doorstaff are clearly treating their jobs as a joke and a power trip to to impress each other!  If they want jobs working with the general public they should learn some basic manners and not judge or speak to people like they're idiots, without even knowing them! We were dressed for the occasion and travelled to Chelmsford to solely visit this venue for out first night out clubbing since lockdown.  However, we were turned away at the door because we had small (smart) versace man bags (which we carry our wallets and keys in).  As if that wasn't ridiculous enough the doorstaff then preceeded to tell us to "go hide your bags in a bush somewhere them come back".   I decided to raise a formal written complaint, as that behaviour is unacceptable and I thought the Management should ge made aware of how its staff treated its paying customers.  I also to enquired, if woman are turned away for carrying handbands.  Lauren the General Manager responded to say "we operate a search policy inside, and your bags could have been searched, and asked to check inside our cloakroom rather than dismiss entry.   As for a member of staff suggesting that it should be hidden in a bush, this is not acceptable and they will be spoken to"  Lauren went on to offer to put us on the guest list and have a que jump for fast entry (there was no que when we visited) but I responded to say; as our evening was wasted and we had paid travel fares etc to visit the venue, would she be prepared to include a few complimentary drinks, needless to say I heard no more!!!  A few complimentary drinks for all the upset caused, our wasted evening, the expenses incurred and the disgusting behaviour we experienced is the very least they could do.  I hope this review saves others a wasted night out!

Chelmsford bar and beyond security guys is the rudest ppl I ever see. Ppl going out for fun and enjoy Saturday night and security guys treat ppl like an animal. No one deserves insult or staf like that some have to do something for it

Bar staff were lovely however I will not be visiting again due to the disrespectful bouncers/ doormen/lady. They were incredibly rude and patronising as well as hypocritical. Despite us politley showing the dress code displayed on the official Instagram that day, which had no mention of sports logo t-shirts, they denied us entry. After paying for multiple taxi’s home to change we were allowed in only to see another boy in the club wearing the same branded t shirt we we’re refused entry for. I understand strict dress codes however this requirement was not displayed online and the way the bouncers went about it after we respectfully tried to sort the situation was so rude and upsetting. Inside the bar is great however it’s the door people that let this place down.

Very good place. The party was very good when I was there. Absolutely no one made us feel like we were foreigners. Thanks to the owner for having such a good team.
