Best kebabs in Chelmsford. Consistently good. Although prices are getting a little out of hand.

I have always had such outstanding service from A1 Roadside chief. Nothing is to much trouble and always very friendly especially Selcan & Ricco, both always very welcoming and friendly. The food is of a very high standard and always cooked to perfection! I have been going there for years and years and always had a great experience! I ring up and within 15 minutes it’s ready for collection, parking is never an issue and my food is alway succulent and very tasty! Great atmosphere , amazing food and outstanding service. Selcan is always so attentive and welcoming. Looking forward to my next visit - please give them a try you won’t be disappointed 😊

Used to be really good, hence the return custom, but I would never order from here again. For the price of the food, the portions were tiny, husband ordered a large kebab, it came with the sauce plonked on the top, the salad in the same box, which was the majority to make the portion look more like a large as there was a handful of meat, and the pitta was soggy and greasy. The soggy cheesy chips were abysmal, the large was a child’s portion with a tiny amount of rubberised cheese on the top. The garlic chicken wrap was awful, the sauce was sickly I had to throw the wrap away. The customer service was disgusting, the lady on the phone was rude while taking the order (should have took that as a sign). Ordered £50 worth of food for the family, and no one ate it. Waste of time and money. Never again!!! Avoid at all costs!

Prices are a bit, well, pricey. But for the money you spend compared to the amount of good food and flavour you get. Definitely worth the price. Speedy service included so no stupid wait times. Highly recommended to any passers-by

Always friendly, their website lets you pre-order food for collection. Food is always properly cooked, their chicken is quite good, not the usual too dry stuff from most small take aways.

It was very late and I'd had a few so the kebab was superb. And my driver had a cheese burger that she enjoyed so I'd take that as the 5th star!

Great experience last night. The restaurant has lots of small rooms meaning plenty of seating but still able to maintain a good atmosphere. The food was excellent with really deep flavours. We got the meat platter which had a great variety of different dishes on one board. Owner was very friendly and chatty too which was nice. Plenty of parking out the back. We will definitely come back.

Lot 33 catered my wedding in October and were amazing in the lead up and on the day itself. The communication in the lead up was great, they dealt with a lot of questions from me and were very quick to respond. The pizza on the day was delicious and our guests were raving about it. They catered for gluten free and vegan which was great and they even managed to set up an extra tent when the weather wasn’t great. Thank you for everything!

I'm certainly not an avid reviewer, only when something is astoundingly exceptional. I don't even bother when something is amazingly poor, except when I've been mislead, ripped off. So, I shall begin, and whomever will see this at Amavi, I will gladly take the review down if you can actually prove my wrong. Before I get to the poor food, the most important fact that needs to be known, the current menu, chefs, and actual company, have absolutely nothing to do with the original Amavi from 2018, from which the phenomenal reviews and media reports are rightly given to. Except the Directors, which have suspiciously changed over the years, but I'll get to that. The original team that impacted chelmsford in 2018 (now based in ipswich with Mi Plaice by the way)with an amazing diverse menu. A far cry from the current menu, just Google it people and look at an essex live report from 2018. The food was crafted with love, and care, and 100% fresh ingredients. Initially complementing on the octopus, i then briefly chatted to the then head chef and main man that graced chelmsford with a Romanian/Italian infusion cuisine, Horea, a true craftsman that adores being in his trade. Every plate in the packed and bustling restaurant was finished with artist like garnishing, the sort of thing you see when the chefs on Masterchef go and work in a Michelin star restaurant. So when in Chelmsford, Amavi is my first choice, but, oh dear, my most recent experience was, well, its driven me to launch a full on investigation and feel the need to write a lengthy review. The current menu is just packed out with mainly basic pasta dishes, ALL of which are oddly listed with either a generic 'creamy sauce' or 'white creamy sauce'. Anywhere that uses 100% fresh ingredients have pride and are more descriptive. So, the taste, hmm, only in my humble opinion, certainly not fresh, and the creamy sauce is just the white with a dash of passata. Sorry guys, passata is an Italian tomato reduction sauce. I'm left with the assumption that there are stacks of costgo like tubs out the back, just labeled white creamy sauce and tomato pasta sauce. Within the forthcoming weeks, I shall pay you surprise visit, and then I'll eat humble pie if wrong, but I won't eat your frozen seafood. This is just my theory, these are the facts. In 2018 the listed company was actually Mi Plaice, and something very odd seemed to occur, almost like an in house argument that caused the talent to leave and set up shop in Ipswich, leaving just a bunch of directors that no nothing of the restaurant industry, and have fingers in pies from cleaning companies, logistics and locksmiths then having to basically set up a new company, Amavi international cuisine, but that didn't even last, as it appears the Directors don't play well with others, as now it's listed as Amavi Restaurant Ltd. In the immortal words of forest gump "That's all I have to say about that"
