Honestly, one of the bet Indian meals I've had in a while. 100% recommend.

we went here this evening - service was 5* - very friendly staff and nothing to much trouble - very nice people ☺️ the food is the best Indian I have ever had - it was stunning - me my partner and our 2 children loved it all - even one of them who is fussy loved the chicken tandoori - atmosphere was very pleasant - we will be back here again with out a shadow of a doubt - Thank you indian Lounge 🤗

Slow service on a busy (full) night - Main order not taken until after starters consumed, an hour after arriving still no food on the table. When it arrives, the food is excellent. Not sure if they need a bigger kitchen, more chefs or a smaller diner count to make the service more acceptable.

Quite expensive, food wasnt very good, it didn't have a lot of favour.

Average nothing special quite expensive

We had an excellent meal last night. It had an interesting menu but also had the usual choices. The flavours of the food were so good and the presentation was brilliant. I would recommend this restaurant and I look forward to returning soon. I recommend the Lounge India Special.

Excellent food with interesting chef's specials

Having ordered from this place several times from the takeaway, I expected a fantastic meal and had high expectations when dining in the restaurant. However, I could not have been more disappointed. Upon ordering drinks, the waiter brought over the wrong order. Upon asking him to change it to what we actually ordered, he did not acknowledge it. Twice. When trying to rectify the issue, they still messed up the order. When the food came, it was oily and greasy and overly salted. Generally, it was all bland. The Tandoori Mixed grill was lukewarm and in some areas, completely cold. It was definitely a microwave job and it definitely did not have a hint of a Tandoori flavour. In fairness to the staff they did take this item off of the bill, however after this, they proceeded to ignore us whilst we tried to get the bill and leave. Upon getting the bill, low and behold, they gave us the wrong bill too. The wait staff to put it plainly were dreadful and were clearly untrained.

First time here. Maybe our expectations was too high, we found the staff was not very welcoming as we had hoped for and felt we was rushed out because they was abit abrupt cleaning table while your talking and even scanned our card for us to pay so was abit taken by that lol. I'm sure they never meant anything by it and is a learning curve for there business though. Food is decent no denying that but in all honesty it's very pricey, London prices rather than local. I get they are trying to make a living and cost of living has gone up etc but competitors are substantially cheaper and they need to build a portfolio first. I would give them a second chance and come back as its very local to me but I will also be sticking to my usual restaurant as it's just ticking more boxes at the moment

We always have a fantastic experience when we come here. The food is absolutely delicious and high quality. Also fairly large portions, I always end up completely stuffed. The staff are helpful and friendly.

When the restaurant is busy, you may need to wait. However, when you get your order, it is delicious. Wise to book.

The food is really good. However it is very pricey, It was not busy which may be a sign of the current economic climate and the high prices.

I loved the place. The food was exellent, one of the best I have ever tasted. The only down side is that I felt it was very expensive, £100 for 2 and not going ovef the top on drinks etc. Maybe its the norm these days, we dont get out much being OAP's.

First takeaway from this relatively new restaurant. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and professional. I made the order through their app and made the order about 5:00pm and was offered a time to collect. I chose 6:45pm. The restaurant is only a mile or so from my house. I arrived at 6:45 and left with my food 2 minutes later. The quality of the food was outstanding. One of the best Indian meals I have had for a while. Will be returning. Very impressed.

I would say this is the best Indian food in Chelmsford. Eaten here twice and had 1 takeaway, food consistently amazing, especially King prawn dansak. Service good even on a busy night and very classy decor.

Great food and service for a large family table, a brilliant evening.

Let down by very poor service again. This was the second time I have visited and each time the service has been very poor. We waited 2 hours to be served our main course. No real apology was given and no response to a complaint email. Such a shame as the food is lovely.

Best Indian food I’ve had so far. Amazing

I haven't eaten at an Indian restaurant for yonks and usually dine on Indian takeaways. The food was very scrummy, the service tried very hard to make sure our experience was satisfactory and the price competitive. My current Indian takeaway choice for many years is now under threat, as they also provide a takeaway service.

Ordered take out from here. Was available exactly on time, portions were generous and probably the tastiest Indian we've had in a long time!

Thought we would try this new restaurant as it had good reviews and the pictures on the website looked enticing - wrong move! There were 10 of us, of all ages, celebrating a family 21st birthday. Food was very expensive, quality was very poor, very greasy and tasteless. When we complained about our appetiser being cold, it was promptly replaced with a hot one but apart from the onion bhaji everything else was still tasteless. Order came in bits and pieces, curry but no rice or rice but no curry or no main dish at all for one of us. Funnily enough that dish - Chicken Korma - was just about the only one that when it finally arrived was hot and tasty. Garlic Nan was tasteless without a hint of garlic. I have never had such a disappointing Indian meal anywhere. They had NO desserts available at all. Service was poor even though the restaurant was quite empty. For £350 it was a rip off. A tesco microwave curry dish tastes 100% better and is a hell of a lot cheaper! We certainly won't be going there again!!

Tried Lounge India this evening and have to say, I was a little disappointed. To be very fair to them, my taste buds have changed somewhat since I got Cancer but have eaten my favourite: Chicken Biryani comparing it to this one and enjoyed it more at the previous restaurant than I did this time. I ordered a very, very mild Biryani but it didn’t taste as nice as previous one that tried at a different restaurant but that’s not to say maybe my taste buds have changed again! It did seem to be a bit hotter at lounge India - compared to the other one. I can say though that the chapati I had certainly wasn’t as nice as previous ones eaten, texture was a bit rubbery at Lounge India, as opposed to more of a drier/floury taste of previous ones (as it should be). That I can say in all honesty - not as nice. I tried to change my order before it was brought out to a cheesy Naan but told it was too late. My fault though but wish they had done this for me. Nice to get the extra’s given to me (which is usual in most Indian restaurants) dips, popadoms, raw onion etc., but sadly I personally couldn’t give it top marks. Staff were very polite and there appeared to be lots of them - so waiting times was cut to a minimum. I will however, return to the previous restaurant to compare again - as I think it only fair to do this. I would like to then come back and leave feedback again and if wrong, I’ll be the first to say so. So why am I leaving feedback now? Because as a new business, I think it important to give early feedback so customers can quickly compare both restaurants. The other was in little Baddow. I’ve not left the name at this point. I would however like to wish good luck to Lounge India and as said, if I’ve been unfair to them, I will apologise profusely., and will be the first to say so upon my return.

Won't be ordering from here again. I asked how many chipatis we get per portion (£3.95!), was told 2, got 1! Ditto how many onion bhajis we get per portion (£5.50!), was told 3 and got 2! The meat platter should include king prawn but we got 2 chicken wings instead. I do not like chicken wings and was not told this would happen. The meat platter should have lamb chops (plural) but only one was in there, and not even nice. We weren't told by the system they use that the order was ready to collect, but we went up there early so it would be hot when we collected, only to find it was already just sitting there, so it wasn't hot. Even with a 25% discount for collection it is extremely pricey! Thought we would give it a go as it's new in our area, but no, not worth the prices at all.

The best Indian restaurant in Chelmsford! We had an amazing meal here. The staff are lovely and smile. All staff looked so smart and were attentive and professional. It’s obvious They take a pride in all they do. The food was beautifully presented, plentiful, hot and sooo fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was lovely and the decor was beautiful. We will definitely return and recommend to others!

Went on opening night (Sunday) and the food was amazing. The building has been renovated so well it now is so classy inside (compared to when it was the eagle pub) the atmosphere was so welcoming and lovely to dine in. The staff where extremely attentive and helpful. Will 100% be back and couldn’t recommend this place any more. 10/10 One thing I did notice not many vegetarian/ vegan options luckily this didn’t work effect me and my family
