The best restaurants serving Default food in Wroxham Broadland East of England

First visit to the Stag for us after recommendations from family. Although the food was delicious, the atmosphere was a let down. Not sure if I will go again but the food may draw me back. Booked for 6pm eventually got food about 7pm, I don't mind a 30 minute wait but 55/60 minutes is too long. As my school report always said 'must try harder'.

Now called the Stag after an extensive refurbishment. The new owners have done an amazing job. Highly recommend the food!

Sólo queríamos una bolsa de patatas fritas. Pregunté sobre el horario de apertura, ya que íbamos a navegar por la ciudad primero y luego volver a comer. La señora dijo algo sobre cerrar a las 3: ¿30 durante media hora y luego a las 7? Bien confuso. En lugar de preguntar de nuevo decidimos conseguir las fichas ahora. No tenían nada, así que tuvimos que esperar 10 minutos. La señora puso la bandeja de patatas fritas en el mostrador junto a la sal y el vinagre. Una señora diferente, creo que fue la esposa/pareja de los propietarios, simplemente se interpuso en el camino. Empujé mi camino hacia el mostrador y sazone las papas fritas. La puerta estaba llena de varias personas que tenían algo que ver con la tienda de chips. La señora detrás del mostrador le decía a la mujer en el camino: '¿Puedo hablar?'. Era muy poco profesional, era como si no estuviéramos allí. Nos fuimos y decidimos sentarnos en la zona junto a la tienda. Nos sentamos en un banco cerca de la carretera, pero era demasiado ruidoso, así que pasamos a una mesa cerca del río. Tan pronto como nos sentamos tres muchachos comenzaron a correr persiguiendo a las gaviotas. No les importaba quién estaba sentado en las mesas, solo gritaban y corrían como locos. Entonces uno de los muchachos comenzó a lanzar puñados de piedras a los pájaros. Una vez más, no les importaba a quién molestaban o a quién/qué podían golpear con las piedras. Había bastante gente alrededor y barcos en el río. No parecía haber ninguna supervisión de adultos. Decidimos dejar la zona e ir a dar un paseo tranquilo con nuestras patatas fritas. Cuando nos fuimos vimos a los chicos siendo atrapados por, supongo, el dueño de la tienda de chips. Llevaba un delantal con el logo de la tienda de patatas fritas. Estoy aturdido por el comportamiento de estos niños y la falta de supervisión / disciplina. La próxima vez, a pesar de que las patatas fritas son agradables, nos iremos a otro lugar.

Had 2 fish cakes that looked like u could buy 50 for a fiver in Aldi, chips were terrible and price was extortion for what I got, my mother had haddock and chips and at £17 where just as bad, never again

A delicious breakfast very hot and order was perfect when we swooped food out for something else and did a build your own breakfast. Waitress was so attentive she even heard my daughter ask about a cold drink whilst cleaning a table and came straight over to ask what one she would like. The builders breakfast was such good value for money. Very clean. Highly recommend

I went on a Saturday around 10 oclk to use the butchery and when I saw the queue to pay as it shared with cafe with what looked like one person serving was a complete joke so walked out .

Loved our lunch there, excellent quality. Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms.

In my opinion the cafe has gone down hill. The food used to be good but not so now. The service isn’t as welcoming as it used to be and the breakfast was hardly warm, with the exception of the hash brown.

Stopped for a quick lunch today as we were visiting the town, really enjoyed the location and decor. Very attentive host and staff. We chose off the main menu. I had chicken in stilton with smashed new potatoes and veg, it was excellent and extremely generous portion, would highly recommend it. Husband had steak and chips, again excellent. There was a really great specials lunch menu only £10. Overall we were really impressed and look forward to returning.

Went in there on my own 5.30 Saturday about 6?people in the bar 2 persons watching which sounded like a porno film it was unbelievable the lady bar staff done nothing, the sound was louder than the back ground music Never will I visit this pub again, it deserves to be closed down

This is the last of this family's chain of restaurants we've tried ... and it didn't disappoint! The menu is very similar to its sibling's menus, which we expected. Containing a great selection of different foods. I went for the halibut and chocolate brownie. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth and the brownie sooo chocolaty, I won't need any more sweet stuff for a month. Service is exceptional from the friendly crew. Prices are on the high side as you'd expect for a meal (and service) of this quality.

Terrible experience from the beginning to finally receiving the food. We were there for the Christmas farmer's market and should have bought food from that but hindsight is a wonderful thing. The room feels like a school canteen, it is very loud. We had to queue for at least 30 minutes before being given a table, this was in front of the disabled lift and totally obstructing it. We then had to queue again for 15 minutes to order, the order was brought to the table before I sat down which really is not great, it's the only eating establishment I've ever been to where I've had to queue twice. I ordered a scone as I do like a scone, the other options were quite expensive for what they were. The scone was enormous so I thought what great value it was, until I tried it that is. It was the worst scone I've ever had, was stale and had been warmed up, I think to try and disguise the staleness, it didn't work. The jam was disgusting, no strawberries in it. To say this place started as a farm shop and still has a farm shop on site you would think they would use quality ingredients, but no they don't. Worst jam I'd ever had. My friend had a sandwich with avocado and bacon, she said the bread was stale which, as the bread was sat out in the cafe on bread trays, is hardly surprising. I will never eat or drink there again.

Now called the Water’s Edge, we had a great evening here on the Saturday over the August bank holiday weekend. Really friendly and relaxed owners who made us feel very welcome and a great atmosphere. It was the most fun night we had on our weekend boating holiday!

We visited today, family of 3 and our dog who was allowed in the bar or in the beer garden. The beer garden is lovely with plenty of well spaced tables and for younger children lots of play equipment. Very clean and well kept. Ordering can he done via app at the table or in the bar if you want to order with a human 😉 It was fairly busy but our food and drinks came in a reasonable time and the food was lovely. Chilli burger , scampi and children's sausage. All was presented well and tasted great and was reasonably priced especially considering how overheads and produce prices have rocketed. We also saw the carvery which looked delicious too so may have to go back for that. Overall a great experience, we will definitely go back and would definitely recommend.
