Excellent fish and chip meals eaten in the restaurant area. All food was cooked to order and served on warm plates. Will definitely visit this fish and chip establishment again when in the area.

The fish and chips were very nice. Fish cooked well, not overcoked. Everything was fresh. We had a beer each and these were nicely cold. The restaurant itself was exactly how you expect and fish and chip shop to be so don't expect tablecloths and napkins; it is not that sort of establishement. Serving staff were polite and the younger girl particularly was polite, welcoming and professional.

Usually I don't write bad reviews, but the communication between the serving staff and the ? Manager was not adequate enough. The staff let us sit with the kids having their favourite McDonald's (which we asked them beforehand if it was ok). After they took our order, the manager came and asked us to leave, because apparently it was business clash. He cancelled our order of fish n chips, and kids were baffled at the tone and attitude.

Visited for a “chippy tea” whilst staying on Wroxham. Excellent fish and chips, gentleman serving was friendly and great size portions. Will definitely be visiting again when we return to the area

The best fish and chips we have had for a long time, totally recommend these delicious freshly cooked fish and chips. Only one warning, don't eat breakfast if you are having it for lunch and don't eat lunch if you are having for dinner (we had for dinner) the portions are HUGE!!

The taste of the fish, chips and curry sauce were very good, however the fish was a little greasy and sloppy underneath, the most shocking part to me is the portion size verses the cost, very expensive for the amount of food served.

When we moved to Wroxham we tried all three F and C shops next to the bridge. Greys cost a bit more but we preferred them the best. Crispy batter and great chips, not greasy.

IMHO the best fish and chips, not just in Wroxham, but everywhere else that we have ever eaten fish and chips. Wherever we eat fish we tend to compare it to the fish here (invariably haddock) and it usually comes up wanting.

My girlfriend and I visited Greys traditional fish and chip shop for lunch on Wednesday 14 October for a take away lunch. The fish was cooked to order and very fresh and flaky, the batter was light and bubbly. The chips were also very nice and all washed down with a fanta orange.The staff were chatty and friendly.If your in Wroxham, I'd definitely recommend this chippy.

Friendly staff, yummy - not greasy at all - food and very reasonably priced, considering the location. Overall very impressed and we will certainly be back when we visit the Broads next year.

We tried both fish and chip shops.This one was following our return from the beach. So we were there as it opened.Food is cooked to order chips ok and fish ok, nothing special but not awful. We had 2 curry sauces, nothing like I have ever had before and I hope never again, with 2 sausages it was over £23 for 2 of us, expensive when I think of what I would have had at home.It is a holiday venue so you expect to pay a little more but I want top class food for this type of price.

We do like this chip place but only annoying thing is that it's cheaper 4 take out than eating it ,also they charge u extra 2 sit in why no one is in restaurant and don't say anywhere about this which is naughty.Yes nice food but,friendly staff but again no mask, bring over our food with gloves on but not when handling cutlery to put on tray or glasses for our drinks so we have 2 gel our hands before you touch menu,table, glasses, cutlery so this is more hassle and charge you to sit in which is bad.food is nice. So if going there Def worth taking out if u got family as it be cheaper.

After a very long and busy week I decided to treat myself, my husband and my father in law to some fish and chips. Obviously with the current situation we had to have a take away which suited us to the ground but we couldn't see what was being dished up for us. We drove home after getting Mc Donald's for our two children and then i opened what was given to us. 3 portions of fish that supposedly where medium but no bigger then my hand! 2 portions of chips also where in the order along with a curry sauce and a gherkin. So if you are hungry, DONT BOTHER parting with your money here as this cost us £24 and didnt even go round 2 people! I went without thanks to their measly portion sizes which wouldn't have even fed 2 OAPs!Feel free to eat here if you want 3 fish fingers and chips costing £241 star are couldnt give lower

While visiting Wroxham for a few nights, we grabbed a fish supper on the friday evening - great social distancing observed, food was all cooked fresh and was of excellent quality. We sat on the benches nearby and enjoyed the view. Batter was nice and thin and crisp, fish was white and fluffy. We really enjoyed our dinner and thought it was good value for money

My 91 year old Mam, who has Alzheimer’s and several other health problems, has been stuck in the house now since March. Today, my daughter and I decided to take her to Wroxham for her favourite food, fish and chips. The restaurant was totally empty so we decided we’d have our food inside, my daughter heaved my Mam’s wheel chair up the step (we were asked if we’d like a ramp) , and got her seated at a table. When we were ready to order the waitress came to our table and we ordered a pensioner’s special and cod and chips with curry sauce. I’m a vegan and I asked if the vegetarian burger was suitable for vegans, no, it wasn’t. No problem, this little trip wasn’t for me, I’d just have a large portion of chips and mushy peas. For some reason, I wasn’t allowed to have anything that wasn’t on the “set menu’ We were in a chip shop ?!?! My daughter, who wasn’t very hungry said I could have her chips and she’d just have fish and curry sauce, sorted ..... no, said the waitress, I wouldn’t be able to have a plate for the chips. We didn’t complain or protest, we just got my Mam back into her wheelchair, bless her, she hadn’t a clue what was going on, and while my daughter joined the take out queue, I took my Mam to a bench outside to wait.After a not too long wait my chips arrived. I love lots of salt and vinegar on my chips, even though my daughter said the served had put some on there wasn’t enough for my taste. Rather than wait in the queue while my chips got cold I thought I’d nip into the still empty restaurant and get some there ..... no, I couldn’t use the restaurant salt and vinegar for my take away chips! By now my face was probably looked like a slapped bottom so was told I could use the condiments but I had to be quick!!! The chips may have been lovely, but I didn’t enjoy them. We won’t be back, all I wanted was some chips from a chip shop!

I am a carer. And i took my lady to Walcott to see the sea. Unfortunately the fish and chip shop was close. So we decided to stop here. And it was the best fish and chips i have had in years. The stuff were friendly. Food was amazing.. and the seating area was spacious and well kept our distance from other customers. Highly recommended.

Cash only in the time of a pandemic that is easily spread by cash is an absolute joke. It also rings alarm bells as to why you would not want to be taking payment by card.

Only had a small portion of chips but they were really good, very tasty made me want to go back and get another (i didn’t though 😉) good size portion. If you want chips and on wroxham this is the place to visit.

Bought a large cod and a large chip. The fish was so delicious-absolutely one of the best we have had. However, there was a scant amount of chips. Very disappointing. We plan to go back for the fish but will buy the chips across the street.

My chips were not cooked all the way threw, took them back and the man who was frying argued with me Infront of a que of people. he completed humiliated me, he clearly can not handle food complaints...no apologie. ask for a refund he olny gave me £1 back when I paid £2. First time I’ve been here and was pleasantly surprised, very nice and cooked quickly, so no stupid wait like some in the village

Having arrived here today and went shopping in the local stores we headed to Grey's for our lunch. They have a special board for shall we say the older folk which includes fish and chips a pot of tea or a cup of coffee, bread and mushy peas for £8.99! This is sitting in the restaurant side and very welcoming it is! The staff are very friendly and nothing seems too much for them. The main part of The main fish shop has all the standard range as you would expect to take away. All in all a great little shop. Highly recommended ! This is situated just near the bridge and I counted two more fish and chips shops over the opposite side of the road also. If and when I do return here for another visit........... I'll still head to Greys!

To be absolutely fair I have predominantly used the other chip shop across the road but decided to try a comparison take away. I had the old standby of sausage, chips and curry sauce. Sausage - ok and well cooked.Chips - just about ok. Portion size was fine but some of the chips were undercooked.Curry sauce - Awful, possibly the worst I've ever had. I'm not sure wether the mix was wrong but it was powdery and separated in the tray leaving a greasy mess in the bottom of the tray and a dry paste on the chips. Conclusion - there is a reason that the locals use the other chip shop!

Average chips, average fishcake, young man serving was really friendly & made the visit enjoyable. Unfortunately for Grey's, the chippie over the road consistently outperforms Grey's in taste & speed of service. That said, if Ken's is ever closed, Grey's is an option.

Had a super lunch at Grey's, best fish and chips around. Been several times now and the service is excellent, staff are pleasant. Not the cheapest but definitely the best.

We’d been to Horsey Beach to see the seals calving their pups along about a mile of beach. In the afternoon, the temperature dropped so we decided to make our way back via Wroxham to get lunch and wander round the shops. Well a chap called Roy seems to own everything in Wroxham except a few cafes and restaurants so we stopped at Greys for a fish and chip lunch. On the menu was a senior citizen special at £8.95 which included tea or coffee and 2 slices of bread and butter and cod, chips and mushy peas or baked beans. It was really very good for the price. A nice smallish cod, perfectly cooked with just enough chips and a ramekin of mushy peas. The bread was white sliced and pre-buttered. Typical chip shop stuff. All tasty, a big enough portion and all for under £18 for 2. So food✔️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️As for seating comfort? ❌⭐️The seats were hard, way to small for my average-sized bum.Ambience? ❌⭐️Cold with tiled walls and zero atmosphere. Uncomfortable seating that made you want to eat up quick and leave.But, all in all it WAS a chippie after all. Quick, pretty cheap grub to keep you going.so ✔️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ overall

DO NOT order a chip butty. With no exaggeration, you get a tiny bread roll with no more than a dozen tasteless chips. I emphasise this is no exaggeration. £2.20 and you would be more satisfied eating half a bag of quavers.

We only visit Wroxham once a year but each time have had take away fish & chips from here. This year was our 6th, the standard was just as good as our 1st. Good sized portions, freshly cooked to order.

Had some lovely take-away fish and chips and sat and ate them by the river. They did have an indoor restaurant too, but as the weather was so hot we decided get them to go and eat them outside.

My husband and I were on a day out in Wroxham, having been out on a boat we decided to have some Fish and Chips, we have eaten at Greys before and the food is lovely BUT the rude, miserable woman working there almost made us change our minds. A nice young lady said that as we were a two would we like to sit on a table where a family were already eating? We said we would prefer to sit at one of the empty four seat tables, she was fine with this, then the older, rude woman came over and said “have you been seated here?” I replied “yes”, she then suggested we move to the end of another table where another family were eating, we replied we were fine where we were, she was not happy, I asked if this was a problem? And she replied “we might get busy and need the table” my husband wanted to leave, we paid and ate our meals which were lovely, the tables did not fill up, they did not need extra seats, if someone came in to eat on their own would she force them to sit with strangers? Very rude woman, will not go there again in a hurry

There were four adults including me looking for lunch. I wanted chips and peas, my friends wanted to order fish and chips. We were informed I could not just order chips and be served in the restaurant so we all left. They lost about a £40 order, will never go there again.

We stopped off here for the night in the marina. Looking for something to eat and come across this chip shop/ restaurant. The staff were friendly. We all had cod and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would recommend this place.

Went in to the restaurant bit as we had a one year old baby with us so we could sit down, we only wanted chips which we were told we couldn’t eat just chips and had to go to the takeaway bit and eat outside. absolutely ridiculous as the restaurant bit was completely empty anyway! And what’s the difference from ordering chips from the take away bit and the restaurant bit? Still paying the extortionate prices only we couldn’t sit down! We had a chip butty and quite honestly, there was about 10 chips on each of ours with a pathetically buttered stale bread roll. Could’ve got a weeks worth of shopping for what we paid and to not even be allowed to sit down, even having a 1year old to try feed Aswell. The waitress was beyond rude and completely unwelcoming. Definitely will not be coming back here. Shambles!

Visited Greys y'day on my b'day with my partner and young son. Ordered our food and got my card out to pay (25quid), told they dont take cards so had to walk to a bank to get some money out.My partner and I weren't fancying a full meal each so thought we'd share. Once I'd paid the order I asked for a little side plate but was told I couldn't have a plate but could have a knife and fork? We ordered some bread & butter, mushy peas and curry sauce to go with our meal. We used the plate the bread and butter came on so got round that lol. My partner felt she was getting a few looks eating off her small plate so wasn't particularly happy when we left. If we were really hungry we would have ordered a meal each but wasnt going to order just 4 the sake of it and end up leaving some.

We ate here after a week on the Broads. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming.

I live in the area and placed a telephone order for collection. When I arrived the food was not ready for collection and I did have to wait a while for this to be made up. Despite there only being 1 person in the chippy at the time. The order was taken down incorrectly over the phone when I highlighted this and asked for what I ordered the staff were rather rude. I offered to pay the extra in order to have the correct order to which the owner proceeded in shouting at me across the chippy. As I didn’t have the extra cash I offered to pay on my card, which was not allowed as the value was not high enough. I was then shouted at again by the owner and told that I was wrong about the order and that they did not get it wrong. He spoke to me in a very rude way and the young girl who processed my order was not much better. No apology for the order being wrong and I left the chippy feeling rather awful wafted being spoken to, more than once, in an awful way. The customer service is awful. I will not visit this chippy again. If you like being given food that you didn’t order, being charged expensive prices and then spoken to in an awful way then go here. Otherwise try one of the many other food venues in Wroxham where I am sure the customer service will be much better.

My husband and I have had fish and chips from Grey's many many times, being local, and have thoroughly recommended them to others. However we went in a couple of weeks ago and ordered sausage and chips and got the most dismal amount I've ever seen from ANYWHERE. It was like a child's portion ( and it wasn't cheap ! )

Arrived for lunch and requested to sit at the end of a table for 6 as it had a table away from the 4 seats. Refused and ask to be seated at a table with 4 seats so as to be able to be comfy whilst eating. You order at a counter , no service and the person was not really conversant with taking the order.
