Walked out of a restaurant nearby due to poor service so went here to fill that hole. Friendly efficient staff, good fish and excellent chips. Should have gone here in the first place ! Good old British fish and chips cannot be beaten.

The large cod was large and nice the chips were tasty but the let down was the very long waiting time and the expensive pricing . Lots of people were waiting outside for their order and were visibly frustrated we waited 20 minutes for fish and chips and peas and it cost £ 27

Me and my family have visited Ken’s countless times since moving into the area, and always had a great experience. The girls in the takeaway provide a great service; always very friendly and welcoming! Fish is always lovely, and cooked to order. Wonderful asset to our town, ran by a great team 👍

Don't waste your money and time, use the one over the road. No one else was waiting and ordered a small portion and a large portion. The large was a bigger box but less than a handful of chips which cost £4.70. We had a long wait aswell. Saw the peoples chips from the shop over the road and wished we had gone there. We always used to come here but have never paid that amount for chips and also that size .

Just had some excellent food from Kens, I've been coming here for a few years and it never fails, food is always fresh and the portion size is spot on The staff are excellent, always smiling and get the food out as quickly as possible. Highly recommend this place

We come to Ken’s traditional fish & chips every single week come rain or shine & have done for the last 3-4 years. The fish is always fresh, white & chunky, batter always crispy & expertly cooked, i have Scampi sometimes & that’s top notch too, I find the portions quite large & cannot eat all the chips as the portions are large 😀 The staff Grace Chloe & Hala (also the other boys & girls) are amazing & so very friendly, the service is always amazing 😁 Cleanliness is always spot on too, I really can’t fault Ken’s 100% best fish & chip restaurant (and takeaway) in Wroxham / Hoveton😁

Disappointing, have always recommend Kens, but of late portions are small, and overpriced. In comparison to other chippy's, they have fallen a long way. It's OK to rely on reputation if you're consistent.

Very hit and miss this place. Last time we visited we were so bored waiting outside in the wind tunnel that we timed the wait in between people getting their orders.....every 8 minutes. So as there were five ahead of us we waited well over half an hour!

First of all cannot fault the taste of the fish and chips. No complaints of having to queue and wait. Staff very friendly, I ordered a large cod, and large chips, my number was called they came wrapped as requested, got home expecting the large cod, very disappointed of the size, i have had plenty of fish and chips from kens, was not what i ordered , plus paying extra for my food, real shame maybe should of said there was no large fish, instead of just giving me a regular fish.

Have visited Ken’s many times, as we live nearby, and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. During today’s visit however, having already ordered and paid to take away I popped back in to buy a bottle of vinegar only to be told there’s a £5 minimum card spend and seemingly no exceptions, despite my having paid for four meals just moments earlier! Disappointed with the lack of common sense on this one and will be looking elsewhere going forward...

very good fish and chips they do not scrimp on portion size, friendly staff even when busy. Not over priced like some places are, even offer condiments.

First port of call arriving in Wroxham for lunch. Located on the main road through Wroxham near the river bridge, and a short walk to the boatyards if you are hiring a boat.

Fish was ok but the chips seemed like they were just warmed up. Left most of them. So was a complete waste of money

The best battered sausages in the world. I would come to Wroxham just for Ken’s sausages, they are the ultimate..

Much better quality fish and chips than in our local chippie at home! We sat in the little outdoor seating area. Service was friendly and the "Ken's Special" is good value for money. Very generous portion sizes too.

We were staying in a houseboat nearby and Kens was on the list of recommended places. It didn't disappoint. The fish we had were good sized and solid with thin crispy batter - delicious, thanks.

My wife and I had a choice of places to eat so gave Ken's a shot as it looked out onto the river. We were met by two lovely young ladies named Chloe and Grace, very chatty and friendly, we were so impressed with their talkative nature we stayed longer having a great time. What a refreshing couple of girls they were. We had 'Ken's Special" the cod was our choice and a good one at that. Totally recommend Ken's Traditional Fish and Chips. the food and service was excellent.Well done to Chloe and Grace, you made us feel very welcome, a credit to today's younger generation.Thank you, Gary and Marion. could be worth a second visit??

Mmm we've had better. The batter was a bit soggy and the chips a bit hard but they were busy. Maybe if we went at a different time it would have been better

Can't help thinking I was overcharged for my small battered sausage, fishcake and small chips, 2 ketchup and Pepsi £6.40?? Nice though and better than the competition by far!!

Oh dear.... Poor Poor Service☹️Waited far too long for Standard Fish & Chips... A huge Que, you’d think with that in mind the fryer would be full, and the turn around quicker! We then took a seat at the rear... it’s a Thursday Eve at 7pm and no others sat using seats. The plAce outside empty. A young boy firstly cane outside and told us to move, we were half way through eating our food. My partner said he wanted to finish his food, all the tables were free? A female colleague of his soon approached not in a Customer friendly manner. Telling us we hadn’t paid tax to sit there? I suggested to pay the extra... she didn’t hear and was more concerned listening to herself. Very abrupt. The food was ok, bland.... there are other fish and chip establishments next door and opposite I suggest you try them! They’ll probably be more grateful for your custom with a smile. I think this place name precedes itself.

Went for a sit down mealBut could see people getting served much quicker in take away, waited over half an hour for 1 adult meal and 2 children’s meal we where the o lay people at tables so not busy at all!! Ended up requesting take away containers in fear of missing prebooked train! table was sticky and got wooden knife and fork and paper cups over priced small portions will not be returning

Lovely staff. Great service. Chips were, perhaps the best ever - really, really good! Fish was very fresh and great quality. Unfortunately the batter wasn't crispy. I suspect this is not bad cooking but due to the fact that food was served so hot (which is what you want) that it caused batter to loose crispness when wrapped. I would absolutely return as food was clearly good quality, but I will eat in the restaurant. I walked past several times and the batter I saw as people were eating was clearly crispy. I absolutely recommend kens fish and chips :)

Visited for fish and chips plus sausage and chips. Absolutely delicious some of the best we've eaten. Young girl on the till was very polite and well organised. £11 was an absolute bargain. So so tasty.

We have visited Kens many times and this year during covid 19 , the measure they put in place were great. Very efficient and great staff...Oh and the food is the best fish and chips you could ask for. See you next year!

I have tried to contact you as was on holiday on Norfolk Broads and stopped at Wroxham for a few days a while ago and we had sausage and chips from you and your pork sausages were absolutely gorgeous and have not tasted anything like them and cannot seem to buy anything even close. Would you be able to drop me an answer to my review of where you purchase your sausages and what make they are. The rudest staff, spent a tenner on a meal on card and forgot to get a second 10p tray to split the food with my kids. She knew I didn’t have cash so tried to charge me £5 (minimum payment) for a polystyrene tray. Surly at these times they know they’re not screwing over tourists but locals. Will never come back here again, for the sake of a good will 10p polystyrene tray!!!!! Very disappointing

Open 7 days a week twice a day so get yourselves a treat if suffering from chip deprivation! There is a small carpark at rear or seating alongside the towpath. On the river 20 swans & 10 geese hoping for a chip. The walk along the towpath is pretty with the gentle breeze ruffling the water.

I live in the area and have tried the fish & chips from Ken's a couple of times the first time I was not impressed, but recently I decided to go back as I read such good reviews I thought my previous experience was a one off, unfortunately I had a similar experience the chips were not very good, somewhat soggy and limp and the fish batter was very soggy and not very nice. The two pieces of fish we had were very different in size even though they were supposed to be the same. All in all I can say that I will not be going back to Ken's, although I do commend the staff for being very helpful in these difficult times and working hard. Need to do more crispy chips and batter please.

We visited this Fish and Chips shop/restaurant on 17th March 2020. We came for an evening meal, due the Coronavirus it was virtually empty in Wroxham. The staff were friendly and professional, offered a good selection of Fish dishes. Prices were slightly higher than average but was good freshly and presented well. Would recommend to all

We visited having seen it on line. We waited for the food to cook however on getting them home a mile away the chips were cold. The fish had the skin on it inside the batter. We were disappointed

Excellent fish and chips. Beautiful thick white cod in the lightest of batter. Special senior portions were still huge! £17.90 for 2 cod and chips , bread and butter and a hot drink... Great value!Staff were very pleasant and efficient.Location so lovely to be able to sit outside in early March on a sunny day watching swans swim by. Bliss

There is almost always a queue at the take away here and it's mainly locals. You only need to taste the food to see why. Freshly cooked, ample portions and friendly service. The restaurant is basic but serves the same great quality food. There are other chip shops locally but this is the one the locals use!

Thought we would give them another try as it is winter,we are really disappointed could of kicked ourselves as today's were really terrible fish and chips they will know after reading this,and perhaps have a guilty feeling knowing full well they used old, grey in colour, watery fish! I will not mention the chips pity the holiday makers.Felt like returning them in the bin they went.

Had lunch here yesterday waited nearly 30 minutes for food, paid £12.15 each for large cod n chips, the place was quite so looking forward to piping fresh fish n chips .When they arrived just awful, the large cod was small and the chips were hard overcooked dry and cold. I was so upset I sent my meal back.It returned with the same fish now dry as been under a hot hold and again with reheated chips disgusting. Hubby ate his fish with no chips on his own this was so expensive at £26.90 for the total meal and it was complete rubbish.If the owner of this place wants to keep his business look deeper at the bad practices going on here in quiet times and retrain staff, the fish they sent back out was just awful it was dry, the chips were the same as the first serving, stop the reheating its not acceptable when you spend this kind of money used to be the best fish n chip shop in Wroxham .

Just fancied fish and chips sit down. Small restaurant at the back. Couldn't fault the quality of the fish and chips served, absolutely delicious. Only negatives was small and overcrowded in there, service very very slow and the only toilet in there had no paper towel! Small important things like this should be first on agenda before opening! Place needs reorganising inside!

Unfortunately it seems to have slipped a little in the last 6-9 months or so.

Cod was very nice but the chips where hard and cold problem was when unwrapped it was a mess fish all broken up dueto bad wrapping just screwed up like a ball of ----.sugest staff are tyrained in how to wrap fish and chips properley

We always come for fish and chips at Kens when we are in Norfolk. The fish is always freshly cooked and piping hot. The staff are lovely. We have not had a takeaway, we usually sit outside. Yes you sometimes wait to get your meal, but it's worth it when it comes.

Just been here and the food was awful, the battered burger wasn’t , the chips tasted like they had been cooked twice before, My wife threw hers away and I left half of mine. Don’t bother buying fish and chips from here, it really has gone downhill and is very poor value. Avoid at all costs. The Mc Donald’s after tasted soo much better, that is saying something really.

On our first broads holiday . Moored up at Wroxham went to Ken’s fish and chips . Fish was perfect , kids had sausage which they wolfed down without any moans. Staff really friendly and they take credit cards bonus

The two stars are for the friendly service in the restaurant and the chips. The rest was sadly very disappointing. The cod that I received was overcooked, dry and actually had a sort of reheated sense about it. My Mum’s haddock was watery in texture. I probably have Fish & Chips once a week on average when in the UK and it’s been an awfully long time since I had Fish & Chips as badly done as this.

Timed our arrival just after another customer had ordered £70 worth of food! Just about everything was cooked to order, so we had a long wait.

Recent visit to the town and went into restaurant for fish & chips. It's small and a bit old fashioned but has a nice view of the river. It has seating outside but as it was cold and a bit damp we stayed inside. The food was cooked fresh and piping hot and was delicious. The fish was lovely and had the right amount of batter on. The service was polite and efficient. Would recommend for a relaxed lunchtime.

Stopped by for a takeaway at lunch time yesterday. Cod, good size for price, plaice cooked fresh upon order. Chips nice flavour. Staff - girl who served was delightful. Thank you, will return when next in town.

Ken's is a small traditional chippy. The service was excellent and friendly. Cod and chips were delicious and chip portions huge! You can order for collection by phone which is handy if you are staying nearby.

We bundled in, confused everyone with the order, most of which needed to be cooked fresh, and then spent the next 10 minutes chatting to the very friendly staff as if we had known them for years. All of them were bright, bubbly and great fun, and considering they were coming to the end of a busy shift on a Friday night it was good to see. They promised us excellent food and we were not let down, couldn't fault anything. 5 stars for service, quality, and portions, can thoroughly recommend Ken's, even though, as we found out, it's not Ken's any more, his legacy lives on! 0

We fancied a lunchtime treat opted for the OAP special ,when it came i was very disappointed at the size of the portions in relation to the price ,18 chips ,the fish was like a big fish finger ,the saving grace was it tasted really nice and fresh the batter was bubbly and crisp also nice .

Monday lunchtime visit with friends from another part of the country. Alas, Ken, you didn't impress them - or me. The service was OK, the fried fish was good, but the chicken burger and chicken nuggets were unappetising, and the chips were insipid. Possibly a case of personal preference so let's move onto the more tangible stuff. Our table hadn't been cleaned and was dirty, not a good sign. The condiment selection arrived and everything was manky; everything wasn't clean. All the sachets had crumbs over them and were smeared with unsavouryness. Also true of the salt cellars, pepper and vinegar. Just not a good sign. Also the glass provided with the coke was dirty and I mean ingrained dirt which could not be wiped off. Basic stuff. It just shows a lack of care and doesn't fill you with confidence as a customer. Again, Ken, not impressed. Have been a customer previously, but won't be again.

We had the pensioners meal of fish and chips while waiting to go on our party boat the meal was excellent there was 12 of us in our party and we had different meals and all were pleased with the food excellent value

Went here today for lunch. We all had Cod and Chips and a cup of tea. It was FABULOUS - lovely crispy batter and 'proper' old fashioned chips - YUM. Not a long wait, even though the place was packed. You won't be disappointed here - great value and a fantastic meal.

Food average, service average, but always check your change. First visit, did not check my change and later found out I'd been short changed by 50p. Second visit was short changed by 85p, but I checked and received my full change when I pointed out the mistake, which was given without hesitation. Someone who was waiting in the queue, told me he had, like me, been short changed on more than one occasion and now, religiously checked his change before putting it in his pocket.

Was given a very warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door. I am a vegan and I asked if they served anything vegan. The young lady said they did a vegetarian burger which they could make as vegan and spoke to the chef. I had it with chips and peas which was very tasty and my friends also had fish and chips. We were all more than happy with the food and excellent service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great food, good for gluten free. We went early evening and sat in the small area at the back of the shop, quite cute.

Me and a friend, went to Wroxham, on Saturday (August 10th), we got the 11.30am Train, from Aylsham (Bure Valley Railway) to Wroxham, me and my friend, enjoyed a pleasant afternoon, in Wroxham, we spent an enjoyable hour, Kayaking on the Norfolk Broads, our second port of call, was Ken's Traditional Fish and Chips, my friend ordered medium Chips and small Chips and a Sausage (for me), was worth the wait (about 10 minutes), the staff were very friendly, me and my friend, went to eat and drink (Tea, which we had ordered in McDonald's), at a table, near the Bridge, overlooking the Broads, will definitely visit Ken's Traditional Fish and Chips, again, in the future.

Had to que for this place for ages to get some food but well worth the wait, it was so hot inside owing to being 30 degrees outside but the staff still managed To enjoy working ... the girl that served me was professional and had a wonderful laugh and smile. Bravo guys a great experience all round

Just popped in for chips after a few beers, just before they close, served by really lovely Lady, and chips are the best ever.

Stopped for some fish and chips and sat in the small restaurant area at the back. Food was delicious and the best curry sauce I have had in a very long time!

Very Tasty fish & chips. Only very small shop but your order is taken as your walk in, everything is made to order so if busy there is a little wait. Home made chips light and crispy batter beautiful fresh white fish. you can order small, medium or large. Reasonable prices , Happy smiley friendly staff . When on the Broads & in Wroxham we never go anywhere else for our chippy tea or cone of chips for the children for lunch. Give it a try you wont be sorry.

Day out,went for fish chips in Kens,waited almost 20 minutes from ordering, very small plates with the fish dropped on top of chips,this made my chips soggy and fatty.

I had cod and chips and curry sauce and it was lovely . I would recommend Ken’s chip shop to any one the food is lovely I don’t have any problems .

I only popped into Ken's for four cups of take away coffee but they were a friendly helpful bunch - although getting the coffees did take a long time and I thought the charge (£2.60 a cup) was a bit steep for small cappuccinos. The place is small and located just by the bridge in Wroxham with a small garden area.

We moored our boat for our last night and walked into the centre to get fish and chips. Settled back on the boat to find that two out of the 3 curry sauces that were ordered were gravy, not curry, and none of the ketchup sachets that we paid for were in the bag, apart from that slight disappointment, the fish and chips weren’t bad

Read another review and yes it was correct - bought a selection of things from cod to sausages and all were very tasty and great chips. Reasonable price for Wroxham being a tourist destination.

We have usually had the take away and sat in the sunshine by the river, but today it was raining so we decided to use the restaurant. We sat inside, table slightly sticky and very wobbly , sorted the wobble with a serviette! Had to order at the cash desk, which we did, but wasn’t really expecting to have to wait 35 minutes for a cod and chips when there was only 2 tables occupied when we got there. We were in the verge of asking for money back as we had train to catch. When the food did come we were very disappointed with the small serving of cod but the chips were lovely. Don’t think I’ll bother with eating in again.

It took 42 minutes for our food,(fish and chips) to be delivered.When the food arrived it was hot but incorrect portions which resulted in another bowl of chips being delivered.

Went there Friday had the large cod at £2 extra was only a little bit bigger than the standard guess it was maximum 9-10 oz( that's being generous) I have a large cod at my local chippie and it's what I call a large about 14 oz .If like me you order a large cod and expect a large be warned it may be a lot smaller than you expect and about the same as a standard one.

Just ordered two large bags of chips from kens, costing £5, got back to the motor home to eat them, opened up the bags and couldn't believe the size of the portions, there was not enough to feed two kids, chips taste like old fat aswell and were also very soggy, I knew we should have gone across the road we're all the people were,it looked very busy and kens was empty. would have liked to have seen kens small portion of chips to compare to the large, surely they can't get any smaller

Read traditional for rather tired and dated. There is a take away fish & chip shop at the front and the restaurant is behind it with terrace overlooking the river. The service was very slow and they brought in wrapped fish and chips from the take-away at the front and transferred it on to the plates behind the counter. Pleasant enough, just unremarkable. No parking, right in the centre of town, riverside.

Had lunch here today, the chips were soggy, the fish although filleted still has its skin on, and was a very thin, meagre portion.

We ordered Cod and chips and sausage and chips twice. We sat down to watch the boats go by on a lovely bank holiday weekend. I’d been looking really forward to this all weekend......well I took my first bite of my chip!! Disgusting, tasteless and dry. The portion size was fine if were a 8 year old child!! I dipped my chips into the pot of curry sauce to give it some kind of taste, then disaster struck! The curry sauce was like water!! and went everywhere. All over my jeans, bag and trainers. Curry sauce is meant to be thick, not runny, like water!!!

Do yourself a favour and go opposite over the road. The food here is over priced, cheap quality, the manager is a complete laughing stock and the restaurant is a mess. Avoid at all costs, don’t let this money grabbing looser take your money.

When we saw the sign TRADITIONAL fish & chips we expected them to be fried in the traditional way in beef dripping or solid fat but they were obviously fried in some sort of ( now called healthy ) horrible oil leaving them completely tasteless. The fish inside was mushy rather than flakey and as seems to be 'norm' down South the skin was left on. The only upside was there was no bones. The staff were lovely people, pity the fish wasn't!

Me and my mate visited this chippy for a bite to eat. I had fish cake and chips was really good. My friend had cod and chips he said it was excellent. The staff were very friendly. Will be back in the summer hopefully.

So much for traditional fish & chips. It was very greasy, soggy batter on the fish, the chips were pretty tasteless & not very hot. Wouldn't go there again. Greys across the road is much better.
