If it were possible to leave a zero review I would. We placed an order at 18:50pm and the food wasn’t delivered within 2 hours. We called to enquire and were told 15 minutes. 35 minutes later and it still didn’t arrive. When I called and asked what was going on all I was met with was “sorry it’s busy, we are waiting for a driver” . I explained that that’s not my issue and at the very least a courtesy call to explain could have been made. I asked for a refund which was met blankly and told it will be here soon. They were pretty quick to take your money however. Whatever you do, do not order from this place, we have had slow delivery times previously from here but this is the worst by a mile. The reality is, there isn’t a good Turkish take out in Witham. Astare is lovely but very experience and essentially a restaurant.

Without a doubt still the best Chinese restaurant for miles. Lovely staff, spotlessly clean and the food just fabulous. We had a set menu and every dish was fantastic. Highly recommended

We had our 50th wedding celebration dinner there on the 22nd February 2025. Everything was good, the food and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend. The waitresses there were great, wish I could remember their names.

It is in my line of work to write reviews and reports. And in this line of work I have never been so stunned and filled with disappointment at having to write this review and subsequently my report regarding Valero Lounge, Witham. My concerns are not about the food which in itself is actually great with plenty of options including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. Although with one member of staff you are likely not to receive your exact order. My complaints are with the staff who initially appear extremely polite, nice and friendly on the surface and then with no apparent reason or explanation are completely off and rude. Overall I have found the staff unprofessional and immature. And the whole experience has left me feeling sick, undervalued as a customer and highly unwelcomed.

We have been going to Witham Prezzo for years and always find its great experience. It’s definitely the best one in the area both in terms of food quality and level of service. Our fav servers are Liv and Veronica, always so nice and attentive! Until the next time :)

We haven’t been here before & thought we’d give it a go. Glad we did, had tempura prawns with a chilli sauce & for mains Weeping Tiger Steak with egg fried rice & a couple of drinks £52. Steak melted in the mouth, right portion sizes, very satisfied & definitely recommend. Nice atmosphere. We will be back.

I think Costa Witham makes a truly fantastic dry cappuccino! I looked over at the counter and mentioned to my husband which lady had made my lovely coffee and just as I was just spooning out the last drops the member of staff came over and said was your coffee ok? How lovely that someone would ask, I explained I was scooping out the last drops as it was sooo delicious :) I think the staff should be given a treat for good service!

This was a brilliant traditional cafe supplying a good selection of reasonably priced English style breakfast and lunches, I was a regular punter. They closed a couple of months ago for a refurb and are now about to re open so I stopped by to check out the new menu. Oh dear, oh dear, it seems they have all gone a bit "Champagne Socialist" while they have been closed. The prices make no sense, instead of, say, £7.20 the menu says it as "7.2" Why? It's hard to find a breakfast without flippin Haloumi included! Why do I want squeaky rubber with my fried egg?? When you find a decent breakfast on the menu it's £11.90!!! (11.9 in their money) and that includes 1 slice of "sourdough toast", no drinks though. So by the time I add a coffee I'm going to be paying upwards of 16 quid for a fried breakfast (16.0 apparently), and I'll still only get one slice of poxy "sourdough" (yuk) I'm sure some of the Wickham Bishops Massiv will pop in from time to time but at these prices you've probably lost your core customers, the oldies, families and workers. And as for Halloumi on a fried breakfast, what's all that about eh?

I thought it would consider giving this Chinese takeaway a try. I was thoroughly disappointed. This ranks among the worst Chinese takeaways I have had in my life. The Chow Mein was dry and bland. The Chicken Pad Thai was too sweet and the chicken in it was stale and rubbery. The Sweet corn chicken soup was very bad. It was way too sweet for a chicken soup. The shredded chicken rice and the Chinese style chicken was the only saving grace but again not up to the standard. If I was starving and I had no other choice, I would go here and only order the veg spring rolls as anything else you order here would mean you are setting yourself up for a colossal disappointment.

If only I had read the reviews first!! Should have done myself cheese on toast instead, would have had more flavour. AWFUL!!! Tried one slice, the rest in the bin 😏
