The Swan in Braintree

Called in early afternoon and felt welcome, quiet inside nice music on and a tidy pint too.

The Swan is a great traditional pub. There is a good choice of beers lager and cider including two hand pulled cask-conditioned real ales. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There's a nice cosy lounge and separate bar with a pool table and dart board. There's outside seating to the front, and the pub is dog friendly.

It was a quiet night, but the music was still pumping. Drinks were good and the atmosphere was good.

Been using this pub since the early 80s.

Always a fun and friendly atmosphere, drinks are reasonably priced and good music. The landlady is a lovely and always takes the time to talk to everyone.

Lovely beer out with my lovely man... friendly barstaff, orders taken personally not via some app or other. A great pint or three of Broadside. Clean, well kept bar and loos... Well be back next week

It's great that the New owner has put some Care into the SWAN! New benches outside & some nice flowers! The inside is getting a make over. Worth 5 stars... Great Beer & Bar snacks...

Good proper pub, no food but plenty sport on the telly also a quiet bar with no telly. Needs real ale

Still open as of yesterday- 29th sept 18. Holding manager here(again) apparently. Pleasant barmaid, same price drink. Dart board seems to have disappeared(may be a 2nd one near pool table, which is still here). Football was showing. Can only give 3 stars as in its prime it used to have a jukebox, quiz machine, the mentioned darts board, 2 fruit machines-only 1 now. Would have given a 4star few years ago but while its open theres hope.

Tired and drab. Only GK IPA as an ale. Obviously ok if you play pool but not somewhere to have a beer.
