Great pub. Nice atmosphere. Bands at weekends. Quite warm in here, could do with some air conditioning, apart from that, good choices of beer at reasonable prices.

It's a real pub crisps and nuts the only food

The Swan is an exceptionally nice "old English" Pub. It has been a coaching Inn in years gone by. The best part however is the live music on a Thursday evening, organised by Emma and her talented drummer hubby Jason. It is known as an "open mic" session. A nice mixture of age groups but less young than old. Long may it continue. John Campbell

Lovely pub lovely pint clean and friendly all welcome...and when it's chilly out they have a lovely open fire...stoked by king stump.

Thursday nights ....the People's Jam. So wonderful to see a pub full of musicians and punters enjoying a great mix of live music again. I now live a long way away but I always get a warm and enthusiastic welcome from old friends and new faces whenever I return, including Chris the Landlord. A decent pint of real ale 🍺 and a convivial atmosphere always assured. I love this pub. Its been refurbished during lockdown, finally losing the centuries old carpet, and some decent upgrades to the toilets. Live bands most Friday nights too for which Chris has a very discerning ear for quality musicianship.

Only dropped in for a quick drink, but was greeted by friendly bar staff, in a very typical Essex pub. Wooden floors, exposed beams, and a fine selection of beer. As expected, and exactly what I needed.
