Ying Oriental Home Gourmet in Braintree

Popped in last night to order a rather large order. Lady who took my order was really friendly and polite, food was about 15 minutes. All the food was really well presented and very tasty. I will definitely be using Yibg in the future as I feel other restaurants in witham have let standards slip of late. Well done Ying and Thank You for an excellent meal for my family.

A customer for over 6 years and it’s our goto Chinese takeaway. Never any bad food, and always courteous. They usually beat their delivery promise.

Overall the delivery was very tasty…. However I really was looking forward to my spare ribs in capitol and they were as tough as old boots

We have been using Ying for many years and it is so easy to place the order for home delivery, the drivers are very polite and always on time, if not early and stand well back from the door when delivering your food. I recommend the Mongolian Banquet for two persons, fantastic flavours and something a bit different. They can get busy so it pays to order well ahead of the time you require the food, buts it’s easy to do this and helps them arrange things their end. Definitely recommend, a,ways piping hot and great flavours.

Love the food here. It’s not greasy or stodgy and everything is fresh. This is the only shop I’d eat from in Witham.

Thought we would give it a try but concede Witham cant do Chinese! The chilli and garlic chicken didnt taste cooked. Satay chicken awful. Only saving grace was singapore noodles. Really awful and slimy food will not be back!!!

I had a takeaway this week. I was very disappointed as the sweet and sour chicken was obviously heated up. Hard and chewy. I have used this takeaway many times and always had good food. I think they need to take care as there are many other Chinese takeaways in town and I for one will be changing to one of those.

Love the food always piping hot, best local Chinese takeaway. Staff are always very helpful if your looking to try something new.

It’s OK and nothing more. Bearing in mind it markets itself as being a cut above it is ok Chinese takeaway. More expensive than your average Chinese and a very good range of dishes on the menu but the quality and flavour is fairly average, nothing unpleasant about it ( except perhaps for the tea smoked chicken being excessively sweet ) but nothing outstanding about it either.

Excellant food as always, happy to adapt dishes to your liking. Fast delivery service also food always piping hot on arrival

This is the first time that I have used Yings. I can honestly say that this is by far the best Chinese I have had within the local area. I ordered a vast array of different dishes and all dishes was served piping hot and the dishes them self was flavoursome, and we'll seasoned. I always order a salt and pepper chicken as well and this is by far the best one I have had in a very long time. The prices are slightly higher than the local takeaway reatruants but from my experience and with the quality of food, I will now make this a regular haunt. I have been using another local takeaway until recently when the food had gone down hill and then the hygiene rating was rated a 1* for various reasons from this point I had stopped using my regular.

This place is spot on if you ask me and I’m faf it did go a little down hill but pulled there finger out n sorted shizzle out just need to open earlier n it could be the start of something beautiful 👌🏼

Nicest Chinese I've had in witham. Tasted fresh and wasn't greasy like others can be. And bonus that accept card over the phone. 100% would recommend.

This is a sister establishment of Lians in Witham and has equally high quality food. Good place to go for a 'special' take away. Food always good but it is more expensive that your average takeaway

Ive used Ying Oriental for about a year now and can't recommend them enough.

Para ser honesto, cuando este lugar abierto nos volvimos locos. 'Un lugar a la altura de su hermana, y se restaurante lians mejor que los otros para llevar en la zona". Inicialmente que era el caso. Para los primeros dos años de cada comida era estupenda.

Brilliant service and takeaway delivered to your door. We use at least once a month and never had a bad meal, all very tasty. Reasonable price

Pedimos desde varias veces. Los vegetales y platos de arroz son excelentes y he llamado a decirles que esto, sin embargo, los platos de carne deberá ser considerado cuidadosamente. Si no te importa sobre bienestar de los animales y están dispuestos a pagar por encima para el equivalente de Turquía twizlers, entonces está bien. Llamé al restaurante y pedí hablar con el gerente para darles retroinformación. Su nombre es Amy, le pregunté sobre sus platos de carne y me sugirió que pueden enviar al laboratorio de comida para las pruebas como no estaba seguro de que era incluso pollo. Amy era muy agradable, claramente no sabía mucho sobre sus carnes, tener que mantener al referirse a la parte trasera de la cocina de respuestas. Sospecho que ella no era el gerente, pero el único que hablaba inglés. Me dijo que el pollo viene de Brasil y el pato de hambre, compran a granel, ingredientes fabricados.

Me sorprendió leer algunos de los comentarios aquí, porque lo único que he usado este llevar en numerosas ocasiones y nunca he tenido una mala experiencia (Esperemos que no te dan una ahora lo he dicho que! ). concedidas no hay excusa alguna para ser descortés y mal servicio al cliente pero siempre he encontrado que la comida es de una calidad excelente. Esta pizzería chino es mucho, mucho mejor que los otros de Witham. Lo recomiendo.

This is my first Trip Advisor review but I felt compelled to write it after the appalling manner in which I was treated by the incredibly rude woman on the counter in this takeaway restaurant. I phoned up to place an order for collection and proceeded to list my choices by number on the menu. I asked if she could confirm the items as we went along so that I could check she had the order correct, to which she said "Can't you just say the names of the dishes as I don't know all the numbers?" I pointed out that generally, the standard procedure for ordering Chinese food was to give numbers and the server would confirm choices, to which she retorted "Well I'm not Chinese, am I?!"In spite of this rudeness, we managed to get through the rest of the order. I went to collect my food and was greeted rather frostily but the food was ready on time. When I returned home, I realised that one of the dishes I had ordered had been omitted. I had not been charged for it, but the order was incorrect, so I phoned back to let them know I was not satisfied. When I explained, all the lady could say was "You didn't pay for it!" but offered no apology until I suggested that one would be nice in the circumstances, and then it was given begrudgingly, with the excuse that "it was noisy when you placed your order". I then stated that her customer service skills left a lot to be desired and received the ultimate insult "What do you expect with customers like you?" I said I would not be coming back and hung up.Unless you enjoy being treated like dirt, I suggest you give this place and its staggeringly rude employees a very wide berth.

Decided that we would have Chinese after my wife's visit to the dentist (noodles etc)As usual never disappointed meal was tasty hot and most of all no MSG.

Do not go here! We ordered a takeaway from them which took the over an hour to cook and after a few hours my husband started being sick! They had given my husband food poisoning! I phoned them up to complain to which they weren't very understanding and said it couldn't have been their food... Except my husband and me had eaten the same food all day except he had the takeaway.., strange that?! DO NOT GO HERE!!

No better than average with sky high prices used to be excellent but has drifted back into the standard run of the mill Chinese takeaways

This is the first time we have ordered from here. The food was delicious, arrived hot and very quickly. We will certainly be ordering from here again.

We had a takeaway which cost 42 pounds. We were disappointed with what we got. We have been going for 6 years but this has not matched the previous standards. The beef black was like Sunday lunch and the prawns in ginger were bland.

We have been regular customers of this take away only restaurant since 2009 when we first discovered it. In previous years i would have rated the food with a 5 star rating, however, something has changed in recent months and sadly we can now only rate as a 3 star.As one example, we ordered a Thai green curry recently, and it i no way resembled any Thai green curry we have enjoyed before, with the chilli heat rating resembling something like a '4' (not the 2 shown in the menu) and as a result was unedible because of its extreme heat. The texture had a strange 'jelly like' consistency..sorry Ying, but this dish is nothing like you used to offer. Other dishes also lack the panache of previous years.That said, and in balance, some dishes remain very good and this is still worth a visit compared to its local competition. It is just a shame that we do not feel it has the '5 star' edge it used to command for reasons unknown.The staff are extremely friendly as always.

The food at this Chinese takeaway is superior to any we've ever had. The crispy chilli beef is crunchy in a thick tasty sauce not chewy like some. The curry sauce is the best I could eat it like soup it's so tasty. Every dish we've tried has been exceptional and the staff are really friendly. I strongly recommend a visit.

Used to use quite a lot but they got very expensive. We got a menu through the letter box showing the prices had been lowered and that they now deliver free locally. One of very few in the area that offer delivery.Ordered last night with 3 starters and 6 mains for £41. Service was excellent and delivery was on time. Food was great, not greasy like others in the area and we'll presented. Will definitely use again as delivery is a massive plus.
